How do you view Monday's Supreme Court decision against the Bush Administration?
On Monday April 2, 2007 the US Supreme Court ruled narrowly, 5 to 4, that the Environmental Protection Agency, despite the administrations protestations to the contrary, has the power to regulate the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. This is viewed as a landmark decision with far reaching consequences giving the EPA and individual states the right to begin to curb global warming. I would be interested in your view and why you feel that way.
9 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoIs Iraq better off from America's occupation of their country"?
The NeoCons stipulated that Iraqis would benifit from America's invasion, and would be better served than they were under Saddam. However a comparison of the death and dislocation that has occured within Iraq since 2003 provides an interesting contrast. (Over 2 million refugees having fled the country, and an estimated 600,000 killed with countless thousands injured and wounded). And if we compare what that would mean if we translate the figures into similar numbers for the United States it becomes frightening, with over 23 million forced to flee and over 7 million killed. It is difficult to find the success from our invasion, when one sees the death, destruction, and dislocation that has resulted.
7 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoClunk! Was that the sound of North Carolina's Season going bust?
NC was completely outplayed by Georgetown in the second half and then destroyed in Overtime. The Tarheels must have missed twenty shots. They ran out of gas worse than did USC in their loss to NC. Final Four, Georgetown, Ohio State, Florida and the eventual winner UCLA! Go Bruins.
6 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWho wins the Rematch? UCLA vs Florida in the final four.?
Florida dominated UCLA in last years championship game, but now they have to defeat the Bruins once again to get to the Championship While the Gators have their starting five back, the Bruins are also significantly improved from last year. This should be great game. Go Bruins!

5 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWhat is your response to Frank Rich's column in today's NY Times?
Frank Rich has an interesting column in today's Times discussing the reasons why Bush will pardon Libby, and I was wondering of those who read the column what your response was? Rich says the pardon is a slam dunk. What do you think?
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDo Conservatives understand the damage being done to America by the Bush/Cheney administration?
For a view on what is occuring today, I urge those with a Conservative perception to read Paul Craig Roberts. If Conservatives would like to find out what's going on, one of the best sources is the Conservative columnist Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of State under Reagan, and member of both the Hover and Cato Institute. His take on the damage to America and the Republican Party by Bush and Cheney will open a lot of eyes to the truth. This is an individual whose roots are deep in the Republican Party, so you are not going to be reading a Democratic spin on the issues. Check out Mr. Roberts for the true Conservative view of this administration.
10 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWill George W. Bush leave office without attacking Iran?
Despite repeated denials from the White House and Gates, there is increasing evidence that America is gearing up for air strikes against Iran. Whether they occur in 2007 or 2008, it's beginning to look as though the situation in the Middle East may escalate even further. What is your response to Ewen MacKaskill's article?
18 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is your perception pertaining to Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone?
Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone, a book by Rajiv Chandrasekaren details the incompetence and hubris of this administration's flawed attempt to bring democracy to Iraq. What are your thoughts about this book.
3 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoWhat do you say to the Republicans & conservatives who voted for Democratic candidates in November election?
In the last election there were thousands of Republicans and conservatives who voted Democratic, many for the first time in their life. Without their votes, it's doubtful that there would have been such a resounding repudiation of the Bush Presidency. So my question to those who continue to support Bush, is how do you respond to your fellow Republicans & conservatives who chose to vote for a party you find contemptous?
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow many of you who appear to support the increase in Troops are planning to be part of the escalation?
While there is a small minority in America who still support Bush and his war in Iraq, but how many of you are willing to send your sons or daughters to be part of the escalation of troops. Or for that matter rush off to join the fight?
17 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoHow soon after escalating more troops for Iraq will Bush order an attack on Iran?
There is serious concern among many experts that the appointment of Admiral Fallon and the increase in our navel task force in the Middle East is a precursor to an attack on Iran.
9 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoWho thinks that escalating the war in Iraq by sending in additional Troops will solve anything?
While it has required over 60 days since the November election for this administration to come up with a "New Plan", it seems that Bush is simply going to rehash the failed attempts that occured last year. He seems incapable of recognizing the serious degradation that has occured with our failed invasion of Iraq.
