Question about Toxemia?
I am due in about a week with my 2nd son. The doctor became concerned yesterday that I may have Toxemia. I went in with a migrane, which concerned him, but I am prone to bad migranes. So aside from migranes, what other things are there to watch for as signs? I would appreciate a full range of any symptoms, from the mildest to the worst.
4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhy do people stare at a pregnant woman?
I mean, what is going through their heads when they are doing this double take at a woman who is 9 months pregnant - have they just never seen a woman THAT prego before or what? And why must they have the sound effect that goes with it....'whoaa!'? Or the comments you hear as you walk away...'Did you see that belly? OH MY GOD!'.
Of all the things to flip over - why must it be a woman who is carrying a FREAKING CHILD in her belly? Did you expect it to be this cute petite little thing?
32 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWill brother and sister cats mate?
I have a brother and sister, and have been unable to get one of them fixed as yet. They are 7 months old. I grew up on a ranch, having tons of cats, but it was never an issue (being on a ranch) of having to get them fixed. We don't want to end up with kittens, but I had thought that cats matured or went into heat at 6 months old. Female has shown no sign, but male has definatly matured. So now I need to find out exact facts here as to when cats actually do hit their 'mature' stage, and will they actually attempt to mate with eachother.
22 AnswersCats1 decade agoHow do I stop the leg cramps?
I have been drinking milk, taking my prenatal vits, eating bananas, all of that. This is my 2nd pregnancy, and I know I didn't have anything like this my first one. I have had a leg cramp for the last 2 days now. I don't know what else to try to get it to stop. Anyone have any suggestions?
20 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoCarpel Tunnel Syndrom and Pregnancy Issue?
I am 32 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I developed Carpel Tunnel Syndrome awhile back. My doctor has told me that I need to cut back on my activity. I am a bit concerned because I am not sure what the end result could possibly be, i.e. could it turn into preeclampsia or any other birth related issues? I know that right now it is becoming increasingly difficult to even walk as my feet are having the same problems (tingling, numbness, swelling). How much worse can this possibly get with 2 months left? I am not sure I can cut back my activity any more as I do not particularly wish to become a vegetable, as well as the simple fact that I have a 1 year old child and 2 older step children. Sitting around all day is not really an option.
Has anyone had any experience with issues like this, and does anyone have any clue as to just how bad it can all get?
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoJust how bad can nicotine withdrawls get?
My husband has decided to quit smoking after many many years. He hasn't had one for a few days now, but he is so moody and grumpy I can't stand to be around him. I know when I quit I was grumpy, but nothing like this. And its mainly me he keeps taking it out on. I'm wondering now how bad this can really get and how long it actually takes for someone who smoked for so long to get this out of their system.
6 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWhat advice would anyone have for a stepmother of 2 boys with ADHD, what tools have you found to work?
I have a 7 and 6 yr old who both were diagnosed with ADHD. My 1 yr old is showing no signs of it, but does imitate their behavior of course. Medication helps the 6 yr old, but the 7 yr old has not done well with medication and is no longer on it. Dealing with them each day and fighting over the same basic things that we were told would be good for them to do, (cleaning room, getting dressed, brushing teeth) always results in arguments. What works to get them to do these simple tasks without arguments, or dramatic screeches and groans?
