  • Is it safe for an American mixed couple to live in Dubai, India?

We have some really nice friends that want to move from the States to Dubai. They are in their 20's, the Husband is black and his wife is white, blonde. They have a beautiful baby boy that of course is mixed, and the color of a light tan. Her husband plans to teach English there. What I am concerned about; . . is how safe is it for a black man married to a white girl to live in India?... Is it violent in that area? I would appreciate your input with this.

  • What has been your favorite childhood Memory?

I know that many of us have favorite childhood memories of trips with their parents, or going to stay with Grandma. My Greatgrandmother was Dutch and she even wore the long dress with the lace cap. When my Mom let me visit her, I was amazed at how her little house had rooms that were all arranged so that you could go in one door to the next room and through another door to the other room, until you actually went in a complete circle of the main floor. One Grandmother only had boys and took us camping. My favorite Grandmother would dance with me caught up in her arms..(all skinny and 6 years old). Another time we had a tornado scare. Tell me your favorite memory!

  • What is a good treatment of Dog eye infections & irritatiions?

My lab has a swollen eye from a previous injury that has been treated by the vet. He said that the eye will not go down all the way and so it is exposed to dirt, etc. He did say that we could get some flax seed oil from the health store to keep it moist. He said to store the oil in the fridge. The problem is when I let her play outside, attached Britney to her long chain by her dog house,. she loves to run in circles with it.. she was exposed to more dirt in the air. An eye infection started up again. We used eye wash, to clean it out. I noticed that neosporine ( My sister uses this on her farm animals) did seem to help. I bought some baby shampoo of which is safe to use to wash out eyes. any other suggestions.

  • Parents aging fast in Florida and concerned that if Dad dies Mom will not want to relocate to Michigan?

My Mom and Dad ride bikes several miles a day. She is 82 and he is 86. I am aware that this is amazing, but I can also see them aging fast. Sometimes I notice her fatigue and that may be due to her Doctor taking her off of Thyroid medication since that is hard on her heart. She had Rheumatic Fever in her mid age. So now she has Rheumatoid Arthritis. She does ride 5 miles a day but after that she is exhausted and often wants to nap. I believe that if Dad dies she may not want to relocate to Michigan., but we could not be down there in Florida to help her since we have families up here. Mom can become argumentative when she is tired and she will 'bicker'. when she feels that she does not want to talk about a subject anymore. If Dad died, we would want her to move up here. The only thing I could think would be letting her live with one of us 3 siblings and make sure that she is warm at all time in many layers of clothing in the winter. She hates winter and cold since she has the Rheumatoid arthritis, but we are trying to think this out ahead since her mother died at age 92. Dad at age 86 is having many issues now and even though he drives a car and is very bright we are very much aware that he may only have a few years left. What are your suggestions to relocating an aging parent at the time of becoming a widow. My sister and I agree that we would like to avoid a nursing home in the future. My brother has no comments on this. I am 61 years old and my sister is 13 years younger and has a mini farm. But recently my younger sister had a horrible accident that left her with difficulties in walking, doing heavy chores. She said that perhaps she could have mom live in a trailor that they own next to their home when the time comes. I am afraid to discuss this with Mom and Dad since I feel they will panic. I don't want to upset them but I am aware that we can not ignore the future. I did not say this, Dad is our Step-Father, but we love him dearly. He is a diabetic and did have a massive tumor taken out of his abdomen about 5 years ago before it turned int cancer. Now he is getting skin issues and had a section removed from his arm.

  • help allergic to soap & sanitizers, red hands?

I am even sensitive to shampooing my hair and any so called 'gentle' liquid soaps of which cause inflammation. I work in a restaurant and need to frequently wash my hands, use cleaning towels soaked in sanitizer water. I have tried using cortisone cream and a lotion with bees wax in it to protect my hands from irritation. Now I am getting white patches on my hand. When I wash dishes I try to wear latex gloves with hand lotion on my hands to prevent them from getting burned. Any help is appreciated.

  • how do you keep deer and rabbits out of your garden?

we live in the country and some years the rabbits eat more than we do of the veggies. What products would you use or method. We have dogs chained near the garden but that does not seem to prevent the damage.

How can we enrich our soil to make it darker? What time of the year would I add mulch to it? This soil is very light and is the only area we can plant in.

  • Have anyone seen a cougar in Michigan?

Last month when it was really dark and my husband and I were driving a friend home. She lives in a woodland area. When we were turning onto her road faintly in the headlights we could see walking in dark shadows the form of a large type cat. The ears looked pointed and I asked my husband if that was a bob cat. But then..I could make out a long tail. He said it was a cougar. The cat may have been 3 1/2 to 4 feet long. Have any of you seen a cougar or puma in Michigan?

  • Why do we hear sound better on a rainy day.?

If you stand outside after it has rained. You can hear people talking clearly from a far distance. You can speak softly and your voice will carry. The sound is not so clear on a dry day.
