    Does anyone have any experience with private adoption? A friend of mine is pregnant and unable to care for the child and she's thinking seriously about putting the baby up for adoption. She wants me to adopt the baby (open adoption no matter who adopts the baby).

    What are the typical costs? It would be interstate. We would hire an attorney, would I still need to do a home study?
