How do you pronounce the 家 character in Japanese?
Basically, I know that "uchi" and "ie" can be used to say house/home. I've seen 'uchi' written as 内, but can 家 be pronounced as "uchi" too? Or is it always "ie"? Or can it be both?
The term I want to construct is 'housecat', which would be 家の猫. So do I say this as "uchi-no neko" or "ie-no neko", or can I say either? Could I write 内の猫 or does 内 mean 'inside', not 'house'? Mouthful of a question, I know. Thanks!
2 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoIs a full UK driving licence sufficient to ride a motorcycle in the US?
I'm a British citizen, but I'm currently living in Canada. I have a full UK driving licence, with a provision motorcycle licence, meaning I can drive up to a 125cc motorcycle in the UK.
I plan on taking a road trip through the USA, and would like to ride a motorbike if I can. I'm just wondering, will the UK licence/provisional be okay to ride one in the US, or is a full UK motorcycle licence required? Thanks.
