I need to know what to pack with me for my trip and I have no idea!

I have long thick wavy hair and lately my hair has been knotting underneath really badly. I brush it out from the bottom up but some of the hair still gets ripped out. I'm tired of having to constantly brush out knots and tangles. Is there a certain way I should cut my hair (without getting rid of the length) or any specific products I should use? Thanks for the help!

I tries to get them whitened in the mall at one of those places and they said they should fade into your tgeath within an hour or two and it didnt work, I also use teeth whitening toothpaste and that hasent been working :p
