My son is in the 6th grade and needs to know "What is a poetry shadow fact" for his homework project. Can anybody help with the answer? I have performed searches on the internet without any results.

Our Social Security was created by Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Terms of Office March 4, 1933, to April 12, 1945), a Democrat; He introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program with the Promise of the following:

1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,

2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,

3.) That the money the participants elected to put Into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,

4.) That the participants money is put into an Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the General operating fund (hence the term "trust), and therefore, would Only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

I was listening to the radio and ABC news radio said that so far this is the fifth coolest summer on record. They said water parks are experiencing the slowest business on record. How can the Global warming alarmist keep up with their ranting when all evidence shows just the opposite is true and that man has nothing to do with Global warming or Global cooling. Now they are attempting to pass the most expensive and massive Government expansion in U.S. history in the Obama Health Care bill. IF, these are the most perfect bills, and they are right for all Americans, then why would those lawmakers that draw up the bills and pass the bills, opt out?

Al Gore is beginning to slip. Last week, in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by UK Times, he compared himself and the Radical Green Agenda to Winston Churchill and the Allied Nations fighting against Nazi Germany in World War II.

"Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilization in World War Two. We have everything we need except political will, but political will is a renewable resource."

But he didn't stop there. No, in fact, he may well have slipped up, and revealed the primary purpose of this preponderance of global warming propaganda. "But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change, and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global governance and global agreements."

As Climate Depot points out, this call for global governance is one we've heard before, most notably from former French President Jacques Chirac who called for all nations to be under one world gobal governance.

In the U.S. electricity rates will increase by 65% to 125%. Gasoline prices will increase by 65%. Home heating oil will increase by 65% to 80%. Natural gas rates will rise by 65%.

In fact, European efforts have racked up significant costs while failing to reduce emissions.[5] Nearly every European country participating has higher emissions today than when the treaty was first signed in 1997. Further, despite ongoing criticism of the United States from Kyoto parties for failing to ratify the treaty, emissions in all of these nations are actually rising faster than in the United States!

The European experience also shows the problem of cap and trade fraud.[6] None other than Enron's Ken Lay was a strong supporter of carbon cap and trade when the idea was first floated in the 1990s, saying that it could "do more to promote Enron's business than almost any other regulatory initiative." These carbon allowances that will be bought and sold have a value estimated at $50 billion to $300 billion annually, and the trade in them would be a huge new business.[7] Enron may be gone, but others ready to take advantage of cap and trade--often at public expense--are not.

The actual cost of S. 2191 is difficult to estimate--as America has never had to deal with such severe energy constraints--but would likely be very high in both monetary cost and jobs lost.

If we were serious about global warming, we would truly study the problem instead of placing everything under Government control and increasing taxes on the people.

We haven't

If we were serious about global warming, we would find a way to accurately measure the temperature in the earth's troposphere, which is supposed to be warming at a rate greater than that of the earth's surface.

We haven't.

If we were serious about global warming, we would care that of the 1,221 temperature measuring stations in the United States, only 11% meet ideal specifications, and are free from factors that interfere with taking accurate temperature readings.

We don't.

If we were serious about global warming, our legislators would pass a climate bill that actually did something about the climate.

They won't.

If we were serious about global warming, the years of overwhelming propaganda from politicians and the media alike would have resulted in a society that cares more about the health of the environment than they do about their portable music devices.

It hasn't.

If we were serious about global warming, our eco-friendly cars would actually be...you know...eco-friendly.

They aren't.

If we were serious about global warming, we'd have a series of televised debates on the issue, outlining the facts and the science, then leave it to the American people to decide if it really is an issue, and what to do about it.

Oh yeah...

We don't care about accurately measuring the temperature. We don't care that our "solutions" do nothing to combat the problem. We don't care enough to sacrifice even our most inessential modern comforts. And no one is really willing to convince us that we should.
