So I'm asking on behalf of my female friend (she's not asking me, but I want to help her). Let's call this female friend of mine Alice.

So a friend of Alice has been asking her out to party and stuff, and Alice's been turning her down because she's got things to do and cannot attend. Well recently Alice's friend asked her out again earlier this Monday to go out on Friday night, and Alice turned her down saying she didn't really want to go out. Well, later on she changed her mind and wanted to go out with a couple of other friends, but Alice's friend wasn't invited and found out later. She sent my friend, Alice, a text saying that next time if she didn't want to be bothered by her, just tell her directly.

So whose fault is it? I personally think that it isn't my friend's fault because I think she's free to hang out when ever she wants. Please tell me honestly whose fault you think this is and what my friend should do with that text if you were her. Thanks.

Okay, I live in a dorm and I put my slippers in front of my door (yes, I don't like wearing shoes inside my room). Anyway, someone sure as hell likes to move them around or away from my door. Sure as hell annoying.

was thinking that I'm going to buy a pair of really cheap ones and put it in front of my door, then on the slippers I'll cover with something disgusting so that the person can get it over their hands when they try to move it. This happens at least once a week. Please help, I want this person to get a rash or something on their hands! Yes, I'm evil mwahahaha. Thanks in advance.

I have a Linux right now. When I used Windows, I have a link (eg. ftp://something.mov), and I just copy it directly into Flashget, and it downloads. Any programs like this that works on Linux? The Linux version of flashget does not work very well either... Thanks in advance!

How do I back up my Ubuntu 10.04 (settings, drivers, applications, etc) so that I can restore it later?

I'm trying to wipe my first partition so that I can install XP, then re-install Ubuntu back. If there is a way to back up my settings, and more importantly my drivers and apps, how do I restore it when I wipe out my Ubuntu files for XP?

So my windows cannot boot because there is an error saying "NTLDR missing, press any key to restart." I'm dual booting with linux (right now actually), is there anyway I can fix this using linux? I'm thinking that windows is missing a file, so is there a way I can, through linux, replace the files? Need help fast! Thank you!

Hi, I want to transfer files to my friend's computer using FTP. I installed a FireFTP. The thing I don't understand is what do I do next to be able to send files to my friend's computer so my friend can "copy" those files directly down. I'm noob at this so speak English please :)

I have Windows XP SP3, the problem is that whenever I plug in my USB, the 'found new hardware' icon and the bubble pops up and after clicking on it, the icon appears to freeze (not responding to clicks). The USB drive is not recognized in "my computer" nor hardware manager. My USB card reader works, and my mp3 also works. How do I fix this?

I'm struggling in the dilemma of whether to get D90 or a 550D. Based on the in-depth reviews and searching on photography forums, it seems that the D90 offers a better result especially with the image quality, the battery life, etc etc. Also, the D90 has a more 'sturdy' body, but would that make a big difference to me? Although the D90 seems pretty nice, 550D features a better HD recording with a jack for external microphone. The reason I'm not choosing D90 right away is exactly because of that. For me, I can be using 550D's external microphone a lot for filming projects (and the quality brought by the nature of SLR lenses itself in films is a reason I'm not using a camcorder). The prices of these two doesn't vary that much, about 50 dollars? Since I'm spending this much, 50 is not that much.. I'm planning on not getting the kit lens but getting a zoom lens, so if any experiences on that, please tell me too.

Hi there. Can anyone suggest me a website that has tutorials and introduction to Flash and Actionscript3? I've been doing some searches and my goal is to build my own flash portfolio (also just to learn the skills to make one). This is going to be my new hobby, so I don't want to have other pro's make the website for me. I have some basic knowledge about what programming is but I'd still consider myself a noob. I know generally how to use Flash, but not exactly great at it.

I am in my Junior year in my HS now and so as most of you know the worries of future plans are coming up. Putting aside college search, SAT etc. for a while, my future career path greatly vexes me. The problem is, I know what (briefly) I want to do, but my dad does not agree on it. First of all, I'm not trying to be offensive, but just for the information, my dad didn't have such a high education. Although earlier he was "open" for which ever decision I wanted to pursue, it now seems fairly strong that he wants me to either be a doctor or a lawyer (or other "stable" jobs). I really think I would waste 10 or 15 years of my life doing those jobs (if I can even get one) and thinking to myself everyday "Wow, so this is life, this is just like school all over again, although there's nothing after this." I know I want to be doing film when I grow up, and I know that this path would require a lot of hard work and "luck" to be successful. Okay, let's say I'm being unrealistic, that film is just too risky. But doctor/lawyer? My dad just really isn't accepting the fact that I'm not that great of a student (I'm a B student). The argument he always uses on me when I tell him I don't want to be a doctor/lawyer is that "How can you know it's not what you want to do when you've never done it?" I mean of course, who knows, maybe I'd love to be in school for another 7 years? That's just not the point. Recently we had a visit from a relative and my dad was talking to that family's dad about my career. That guy was telling my dad not to let me do what I like just because I like it, but choose something that "He has an advantage over the others." I'm just really stuck right now with all this stuff.

I want to make a portfolio which includes photos and video. I'm thinking about wanting the menus etc to animate (how exactly I am still thinking). I'm going to burn this on a DVD so it doesn't need to be uploaded, but is this animation type of website a flash? How can I start learning to make one (a simple one to start off with)?

here is my problem:

turned on computer one day, and it sounds fine (everything is running) but the monitor says "no signal"... I opened up the computer case, CPU, GPU, HDD, and power supply fans are running. I removed/adjusted my GPU and nothing works. I tried on an older GPU I have, also no luck. One thing I find different is,

BEFORE: When I boot up my computer, It turns off with one click on the power button (before it boots into windows)

NOW: The period before it boots into windows (I can guess the time span where it goes to the BIOS screen), I now have to hold the power button for about 5-6 seconds so it can turn off.

any help is very very appreciated because I NEED to use this computer (for editing, so I HAVE to use this computer) very soon.

Hi, I want to (and already am) self studying for AP Psychology on May 2010... I won't go in details on why I'm not taking the class offered in school, but the fact is that I am not. Thing is, does the school have the power to restrict me from taking the AP test (w/out taking the course) in the school (because they do not want me to screw up the average grade)?

If they do, then where can I take the test?
