Chemistry titration problem?
If 17.2 mL sample of a 0.443 M aqueous HNO2 solution is titrated with a 0.426 M Ba(OH)2 solution, what is the pH after 13.4 mL of base have been added?
2HNO2 + Ba(OH)2 -> Ba(NO2)2 + 2 H2O
Can someone explain this problem?
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoNeed help with remembering a historical term?
I think there s some phrase that I ve heard that denotes the idea that historically, the more time has passed the more progressive society has gotten on social issues (as in, women who lived in say 1000 AD had it way better than women in 500 AD). I thought it was historical progressivism but I googled that and it doesn t seem to be the same thing.

Can someone explain this problem to me:
What is the angle between a wire with 7.70 A and the 1.20 T field it is in, if 50 cm of the wire has a magnetic force of 2.50 N?
What is the force on the wire if it is rotated to make a 90° angle with the field?
2 AnswersPhysics7 years agoCan someone explain this equilibrium problem?
Consider the gas-phase dissociation process shown below.
A2(g) 2A(g) KP = 0.250 @ 727°C
At 727°C, the total pressure of the system at equilibrium is found to be 1.00 atm. Calculate the equilibrium partial pressure of A.
The answer is .39 atm. Can someone explain how to do this?
2 AnswersChemistry7 years agoCan someone explain this equilibrium problem?
A sample consisting of 0.50 moles of AB(g) was placed in a 10.0 L reaction chamber at 500oC. After equilibrium was reached, it was found that 20% of the AB had dissociated according to the reaction
2AB(g) 2A(g) + B2(g)
Calculate the equilibrium constant KC for this reaction at this temperature.
The answer is supposed to be 3.1 x 10. Can someone explain how to do this problem?
1 AnswerChemistry7 years agoCan someone explain this rate reaction problem to me?
Consider the hypothetical reaction A + 2B products. Use the following data to determine the rate of the reaction when [A] = 0.050 M and [B] = 0.15 M.
Expt. # [A]0 [B]0 Initial rate
1 0.20 0.20 0.76 M/s
2 0.20 0.40 0.76 M/s
3 0.40 0.20 1.52 M/s
Apparently the answer is 19M/s. I have no idea why this is the right answer, so if someone could explain it I'd be thankful. I'd like as thorough of an explanation as you're willing to give, and I'd like to understand this conceptually.
2 AnswersChemistry7 years agoWhy does mRNA resemble the non-template strand of DNA more than the template strand?
So from my understanding, mRNA and the template strand of DNA are basically identical with the only difference being for every thymine there's a uracil on mRNA. Why does it resemble the non-template strand of DNA instead of the template strand? Why can't it more closely resemble the template strand instead?

1 AnswerHomework Help10 years agoWho are the rebels in Libya?
I've been interested in the recent conflict with Libya, and I know Gaddafi's policies and stance pretty well, but I know little about the rebels in Libya; information on the rebels has been hard to come by. Does anyone know anything about them? They seem slightly disorderly, but are there any significant leaders? Besides overthrowing Gaddafi, what are their goals for Libya?

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow common is it for antidepressants to worsen depression?
I've been taking Zoloft for about two and a half weeks, and I believe it may be making my depression worse. It's difficult for me to monitor this, though, so I'm not even sure myself. And although it seems like I experience deeper depression, I feel like I don't think about suicide quite as often, which is good but strange. Do you think I should wait a bit longer before I telling my psychiatrist I want to stop taking Zoloft, since two weeks isn't very long, or is it time to drop it?
