Kind of a strange guy to explain. I graduated University with a degree in fashion, moved to Japan where I started teaching English and then became a drummer in a rock band. I enjoy skating, bowling, playing and writing music and reading fantasy novels. I swing between being the ultimate nerd and the punk skater and really can't decide what I truly am.

  • Why do you think the recession is hitting England so hard?

I moved to Japan a long time ago and although I was recently made redundant I found a new job within a month and with better pay than my last position. Many of my friends in England have lost their jobs and I'm intrigued to why the recession in the UK is so much worse than here. Just wanted to know your opinions.

  • How can I stop being so oversensitive?

I am way too over emotional and take comments or people not liking me way too personally. How can I get past this so that I don't spend every waking moment feeling as though the worlds problems are my fault?

  • Question for I pod experts?

Just wondering, is it possible to sync my I pod to my computer but not the other way round? Every time I delete from my computer it deletes from my I pod and as my I pod has a larger memory than my computer it means that I can never fill it. In other words, I want to put music into my I pod, delete it from my computer and still keep it on my I pod the next time I sync it....I hope this makes sense.

  • Should I move back to England?

I have been living in Japan for almost 8 years now but will likely be out of a job in March next year. I am weighing up my options at the moment and am thinking about coming home. The only things I am worried about are the current economy and bringing back my Japanese girlfriend (who will have to be my wife if I do). What are your opinions on making the move and bringing a wife who can speak little English?

  • How do I tell my girlfriend the slippers she gave me as a present are killing me without upsetting her?

My girlfriend bought me some slippers out of the kindness of her own heart (or because she hates me) and they have big plastic arch supports. I now enter my apartment and cringe when I see the pain I have to bare waiting next to the door. I can't take walking around in these for the next year or so but I how do I tell her they suck without upsetting her?

  • Why do people think that all musicians do drugs?

Playing drums in a band and having a lot of tattoos I find that people always presume that I do drugs. I get offered a lot from people and usually they seem surprised when I turn them down and tell them that I don't use anything. So why do people make presumptions based on your image to whether you use drugs or not?

  • Can someone who is good at internet shopping please help?

I'm looking for trousers as I am 6'6 have an inside leg of 36 inches and a waist of 32. I also live in Japan so it is impossible to find clothes. If anyone knows of sites that stock trousers in this size, can deliver to Japan and have either a paypal or pod system could you please tell me? Something other than high and mighty would be good as I want something a little more stylish if I can get it. Thanks!

  • Do you have any tips for cooling down a room?

Sitting here in my room the temperature seems to be about the same as on the surface of the sun (maybe a slight exaggeration but I'm sweating like.....well, something very sweaty). I live in Japan and my girlfriend has taken the room with the air conditioner so my music studio (which I am now dripping sweat on the floor of) is more than uncomfortable to sit in. Do you have any ways to cool it down until I get chance to go out and invest in a fan?

  • Grim question (sorry)?

Just need to know the types of equipment that is used for slaughtering animals. I'm writing a horror comic book as a hobby and need to know for the storyline. If you could link to pictures it would be a great help and the more ways that the animals are prepared for eating the better.

  • Am I wrong to be annoyed at my girlfriend?

Yesterday my girlfriend went out drinking with her friends. I awoke half way through the night to find her in bed drunk and vomiting on the floor and bed. She could have used her bag which was next to it but took the option of the bed as it isn't her property. After telling her to clean it up today she decided that I was insensitive for not caring about her hangover. Do you agree and think that I am in the wrong?

  • Which do you prefer, the oscars or nickolodeon kids choice awards?

Strange question seeing as I am 30 years old. But watching the nickelodeon kids choice awards yesterday made me actually think that I agree more with childrens votes than adults. The best movie nominations went to movies such as transformers and pirates of the carribean and although alvin and the chipmonks won I would rather watch that than Borne Ultimatum. Does anyone else view a nickolodeon award higher than an oscar or is it just my disturbed mind?

  • What bands do you recommend for a guy who likes My chemical romance and fall out boy?

I know that I will get a load of abusive comments about how emo punk is gay but at the same time I don't really care for bigoted comments. For all those who do actually like this type of music what do you recommend?

  • How much TV do you watch each day?

Just wondering as yesterday my friends had a laugh at me for going a week without watching TV. I just had better things to do, but they had a laugh at my weirdness as apparently I should watch at least two hours a day. Just wondering how much TV everyone on here watches and whether anyone else goes without TV for long periods.

  • Can reading too much make you lose the plot (mentally that is)?

Just wondering what you think on this one as recently I have been reading an average of 200 pages a day of fanasy novels and have read 12 books so far this month alone. I enjoy reading but find that I am now relating real life to my books far too much. It's fun but do you think that it's possible to derange yourself from living in a fantasy world?

  • Does anyone know of some good ten pin bowling sites?

I'm off to try my new ball today but it is my first time to try finger tip spin bowling. Seeing as I have only had experience of straight bowling I have no idea about the release positions or angles involved. My average straight is about 160 but I know that my bowling will be all over the place...even more so if I just start from a trial and error way of learning. Do you have any tips or sites that you know of that could help me out and stop me from utterly embarrasing myself today?

  • How should I ask for more money?

I seem to be getting the rough deal at work as my manager keeps giving me more responsibility with no extra pay. I am now forced to go to work on Saturday to conduct interviews and have had two days of my summer holidays revoked. I know I am good at my job but that seems a reason to reward me rather than punish me. How should I go about asking for more money?
