  • I am applying for government assisted housing but?

I own the deed to my mother's home, It has never been my residence and she has a life estate. She receives the homestead exemption for it and is the taxpayer. To qualify for assistance, I must not hold an "interest" in a residence. I dont believe that I have any value interest in that residence during her lifetime.

Do I have an "interest" in that home?

  • Does President Obama work for us or his former union comrades?

"We spent a fortune to elect Barack Obama -- $60.7 million to be exact -- and we're proud of it," boasted Andy Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, to the Las Vegas Sun this week. The behemoth labor organization's leadership is getting its money's worth.

Through a series of local chapter takeovers and bully campaigns to destroy the reputation of executives who refuse to submit to their will, Stern and his scandal-plagued lieutenants have consolidated low-skill service workers to create a 21st century labor empire. The ubiquitous Stern now enjoys a prominent seat at the table of every major policy discussion at the White House, including economic recovery and health care radicalization.

  • Why is this question hard to keep on YA?

    Courtesy of: Imnoangel:

I know 9/11 has past but will you join me in a tribute because this post has been deleted twice?

So I am reposting it because it really makes me upset that it was deleted. It has not violated any guidelines

DO NOT FORGET, the thousands of innocent people who died because of crazy fanatics that hate America

DO NOT FORGET, all of the brave firefighters, police and emergency workers who worked tiredless that day without complaint

DO NOT FORGOT, all of the couragous soldiers who fought against our enemies.

DO NOT FORGET, that our enemies are the muslim/islamic extremists

DO NOT FORGET, that many muslims cheered across America when the towers fell (I know this happened because I witnessed one incident myself)

Lee Greenwoods song "God Bless the USA" sums it for me:

If tomorrow all the things were gone,

I’d worked for all my life.

And I had to start again,

with just my children and my wife.

    I’d thank my lucky stars,

    to be livin here today.

‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,

and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,

where at least I know I’m free.

And I wont forget the men who died,

who gave that right to me.

    And I gladly stand up,

next to you and defend her still today.

‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,

    God bless the USA.

    From the lakes of Minnesota,

    to the hills of Tennessee.

    Across the plains of Texas,

    From sea to shining sea.

    From Detroit down to Houston,

    and New York to L.A.

Well there's pride in every American heart,

and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,

where at least I know I’m free.

And I wont forget the men who died,

who gave that right to me.

    And I gladly stand up,

next to you and defend her still today.

‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,

    God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,

where at least I know I’m free.

And I wont forget the men who died,

who gave that right to me.

    And I gladly stand up,

next to you and defend her still today.

‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,

    God bless the USA.

    .

America look how far we have come since 9/11-from a president in office not afraid to stand up to our enemies to a muslim sympathizer.

  • Why is it that Libs almost NEVER actually address ACORN in responses, only point at others?

If the question is about ACORN, why talk about everything else, why not just flat out say that you really dont care how corrupt they are, or how much of our money they get as long as they are on your side.

Wait for it, the republican -bashing begins in 30 seconds.

  • Why not write ME in for President?

    1. For binding the minimum wage to the cost of living so that business does not have to lay off people whenever congress gets an "itch", business could budget for the gradual increases.

    2. Eliminate taxes on overtime, more money in the hands of the workers to spend on consumer goods, investors would race to fill the demand. "Trickle UP" economics.

    3. Move our Iraq troops to safety in the desert and let the inevitable Iraqi civil war play out, then make a deal with the winner.

This WILL be the outcome, withdraw NOW, or 5 years from now. let's skip the pain in the mean time.

    4. Now that oil costs have risen, it IS economical to produce diesel fuel from coal, and that process makes a diesel fuel with less pollutants than petroleum diesel. Jobs for the coal regions, factory jobs as well. We cannot outsource mining and

    coal/diesel production.

    5. Regard pharmaceuticals as a "public utility" the investors get a guaranteed profit and the public is protected from overcharging. More another day

  • Why don't we amend the US Constitution to allow for only ONE Senator per state?

As it stands, each state has 2% of the total Senate votes.

If your two Senators DISAGREE, then your state has 0% representation on that vote.

Look up sometime how often YOUR state had NO effect on the outcome of a critical bill.

Then there is the enormous savings in Senate staffers and salaries, more working space available, less incentive for pork projects, and with the smaller committees, more individual accountability for each senator.

If one is insufficient, why TWO, why not...seven?

  • Why has our nation lost the ability to debate or discuss politics without stooping to ever lower lows?

I respect the opinions of those who disagree with me, they get more respect if they do a little homework first. Some of these posts by both sides make me sick, I am especially ashamed of those from MY side. If we cannot win with the truth and the will to share it, we should NOT win with personal attacks ( character is up for grabs ) but , really, attacking the family members? their appearance? race? Hinting at rumors.

This should be offensive to us ALL. For we are ultimately, ONE PEOPLE.

  • Why is the Democratic party incapable of nominating someone who can be elected ?

Without Ross Perot's 19% of the popular vote, effectively eviscerating the Republicans, Bill Clinton would not have come close.
