Quitting High-Paying Job to Return to School. Advice?
I already have a bachelor degree in English, and a master's in journalism. I have been in PR for more than 10 years and I am done. I want to open up my own bake shop eventually, but have no formal training. I would have to quit and enroll full time in a culinary program at our community college . To make matters worse, I bought a historic house a couple years ago and am in more debt now than I ever have restoring it.
I am just so miserable now. Any advice?
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoCashing in Employee Stock Options?
I worked for a company back in 2000 that had an IPO. Employees were awarded stock options, and I was awarded 2,000 shares. I still have the letter from the then president and CEO. I ended up leaving the company a few months later, so it appears as if I'm only 25% vested. The company, as it was, no longer exists. It was split into 2 separate companies.
What value, if any, would the stock options have today, and could I cash out my vested portion?

7 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoInnova Food. Anyone have problems with it?
I have 2 dogs, and have been feeding them Innova dry adult formula for years. In mid-March, they both became ill...throwing up, diarrhea, etc. I took them to the vet and, among other things, started feeding them Eukanuba Low Residue that you can only get from vets. My dogs got better, but I thought it was a result of the medicine or that, if it was a virus, it had run its course. Put them back on the Innova and they got sick again.
I have taken them off the Innova and sent a sample of the food to be tested. As I'm waiting to hear what the test results are, has anyone had similar problems? I know it's not on the food recall list...

10 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoWhat color should I paint my bathroom?
Very small (60 sf). Lots of travertine tile (on floor, in shower on chair rail) and black granite. Vanity and cabinet are in an espresso (dark, dark brown almost black) finish. I want a monochormatic look -- lighter shade above chair rail, darker below. My initial thought was a brown, but now I'm leaning towards green -- like an olive-ish green. White trim/ceiling.
Any thoughts?
4 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoCan anyone help me with interior painting?
My house is 81 years old with plaster walls and plaster ceilings. Absolutely NO surface is smoothe, and NO line is straight. Where the walls meet the ceiling, it's not a straight line...it's a bit wavy. How in the world do I paint up where the wall meets the ceiling without getting paint on the ceiling? I have found that tape doesn't work well because the paint tends to penetrate it.
I also have the same problem with my mantle. I want to paint it without getting paint on the brick wall it's attached to. Taping is impossible because the brick is uneven.
I feel there's not much I can do around my house, but painting should be the one thing I can do...

13 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoHave you been so bored at work you want to do nothing at all?
I have a well paying job in public relations. I am bored to tears though with the industry I'm in. I like my boss, have a healthy 401K, can come and go as I please, so I don't want to change jobs. I'm just soooo bored that I end up seeking ANY diversion (like Yahoo Answers) to avoid working...

1 AnswerOther - Diseases1 decade agoHow much will this hurt resale?
I have a 2 bedroom, one bath home. It's an 81 year-old bungalow. Very small. The bath needs to be remodeled. It has a very small tub shower. To fit a standard size tub, the wall has to be bumped out, making the 2nd bedroom smaller -- too small, in fact, according to my realtor. I am considering turning the tub shower into just a shower. This is my only bathroom, so no tub anywhere else. It'll be very nice, travertine, semi framless glass, etc. Everything in the bathroom will be travertine (floor) with custom cabinetry, vessel sink, etc.
How much will not having a tub hurt resale?
