I have a unique situation at work and am wondering if I am legally liable to continue working there. On May 28th I turned in a resignation letter indicating my expected end date is the end of August, when my position was anticipated on being filled. I did however state that employment might end sooner if the position is filled or if pregnancy related health issues prevent me from working.

I am now wanting to quit in 2 weeks. Depending on how much worse the situation gets, there may not be any notice involved. Because of the resignation letter, are there any legal repercussions they can take against me? Or am I free to quit at will? (I am in Colorado).

I am about 5.5 weeks pregnant and really do not have any symptoms. Slight nausea, very minor changes in breasts. Nothing too obvious.

When did your symptoms start? What kind of symptoms did you have?

Thanks for stopping by to help me with tonight's dinner menu. I have:

White beans (Husband is not a fan)

Black Beans

Rotel

Corn

Onion

Chicken Breast

Tons of common spices

Bell Pepper

Chicken Broth

I was thinking about doing this:

1 can chicken broth

1 cup water

1 can corn

1 can black beans

1 can rotel

Onion to taste

Slicing up chicken breasts into chunks

Adding a few of my fav spices (rosemary, oregano, parsley, basil, garlic, etc.)

Throwing all of that in a crockpot to cook for about 4 hours on med-high.

What do you think? Will that taste okay? Any other ideas?

I have an interview Monday with a Sales Recruitment firm. He didn't get into specifics about the comission structure but did indicate about 50% of my pay would come from comission. Does anyone know what base pay I can expect? How do comissions typically work? Do you get a comission per placement?

I accidentally backed into my neighbors brick mailbox with the Uhaul truck as I was backing into my driveway. No brick was messed up but I did shift the top half of the mailbox about two inches over. In other words the mortar was not very firm and shifted all the brick from the center point up. It looks like all the needs to be done is someone push the top half back over onto the bottom half and remortar the area.

Does anyone know how much it costs to either replace the brick mailbox or hopefully just repair it?

I will admit now that when it comes to cars I am a typical woman... I refer to all the parts as thingies and gadgets (lol).

I have a 2008 Ford Escape with 51,000 miles on it. Two weeks ago my car started acting strange. When I put the car in drive and start to take off, it feels as if the car is spinning on ice (but there is no ice or rain). Then eventually the car jerks into action and starts moving. As long as I am at a higher speed (say 10 miles an hour or more), the engine is fine. This week it started getting worse. In addition to having trouble getting started, when I pull up to a red light or something and then press on the gas, The RPM goes up but there is movement. Almost like it is in neutral with someone hitting the gas. I then let off the gas, give it a minute and it will kick into gear.

It is an automatic transmission with no history of problems. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Just writing to see if anyone can give me some advice on what my legal rights are. I totaled my car in late december, 2009. It was a single car accident, no injuries, no property damage. So here is a breakdown of the chain of events thus far:

I file my claim with USAA. After 1 week no adjuster had looked at my car (they have some sort of holding facility in OKC they send the cars to). After several calls, I am told that I have not filled out a paper to release my car to the insurance company. This was never mentioned before.

So I file the paper and within a few days they decide my car is a total loss. I am assigned to an adjuster who offered me a certain amount for my car. We both agreed this was a fair amount so we moved forward. I was told I needed to fill out some paperwork and send them the title.

Well my grandmother co-signed on my car so on the title is had my name and/or my grandmothers name. The adjuster was adament we both sign it even though it said and/or. She lives 3 hours from me and since I was down to one car (sharing with my husband), it took me an additional week to coordinate with her to get the title signed. Turns out in the state of Oklahoma when a title says and/or, only one party has to sign it (confirmed with the OK department of motor vehicles).

So now I am a good 3 weeks into my claim. I mail USAA the title and keep my tracking number. According to my tracking number the package arrive at 4:34 a.m. on 1/22/10. My adjuster has still not received my title. Since I felt I was not getting anywhere with my adjuster, I called another adjuster in the total loss dept. to see what my options were. She mentioned that this has been happening alot due to some new salvage policy so as long as they can verify via a tracking number they recieved it, they will release the equity on my car with the assumption I will sign all paperwork as needed. I agree.

I left a message for my adjuster stating what i had just been told and left my tracking number. He called and said he did confirm my package arrived to their facility but I was given bad information. Since there was a lein on my car (only owed $900 which USAA had already paid and got the guarantee from the bank), they could not release the equity without the title. They did release 70% of the equity to "meet me in the middle".

USAA has now conceded they did in fact lose my title and told me I had to get a duplicate from the tax commission. They did offer to pay for it.

I am just wondering what my rights are. Can I take an insurance company to small claims court and get them to pay not only the remaining equity, but also for all the time I have invested due to their misinformation? It doesnt seem fair that I should have to waste my time and money because of their lack of organization.

Any similar stories?

I am trying to make some stuff chicken tonight and I want to add spinach. I was going to buy plain spinach at the store but it was almost $3 for a small bag. So instead I got the spring lettuce mix (because I will use it as salad). Will it be okay to saute the spinach and lettuce together out of the bag or do I need to separate the spinach before sauting?

Also - how will I know when the spinach has been sauted long enough ?

Hi, All,

I over cooked some BBQ boneless pork chops yesterday and hate to waste them. They are dry but overall seem to be salvageable. I have all the standard stock pantry supplies. I don't have wild rice but do have white and brown.

Any ideas on what I can do to repurpose the pork? I can scrape the BBQ off the outside of the pork chops if needed to remove some of the BBQ flavor.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!!!

I put a few cups of BBQ sauce, 1/4 onion, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, and 4 pork chops in a crock pot. I am leaving the house soon and will be back in about 4 1/2 hours to eat them. What temp setting should I put them on (low, med, or high)??

I am trying to google a specific type of recipe but having trouble with the terminology. Does anyone know what the term is for the premixed soups you can buy where you just add water? My husband's grandmother used to make those at home and give them out for Christmas. She used to have all kinds of stuff: brownie mix, cake mix, stew, soups... the list goes on. I would like to continue that tradition but having trouble finding recipes.

I have been craving beans lately so I thought I would make a bean soup. My husband gently informed me that my recipes tend to be bland. I have ground turkey, white beans, corn, bell pepper, onion, rotel, and lots of spices on hand. Does anyone have a good idea on how to add a little flavor to turkey meat and bean soup?

Good evening! I am just about finished updating my resume for an upcoming career fair and have one more question.

I am an IT intern and when I first started I researched software called Camtasia, gave a presentation to the director, and she bought the software to help improve our overall presentation performance (the staff give numerous presentations).

I am trying to sum up that accomplishment into about 7 words to list as a "key contribution" on my resume.

Do you have any idea how I can reduce that down to sound really good on a resume??

I am writing a paper on binary numbers and how they make a computer work. I understand binary numbers and how they are used to represent data. However, I am having trouble finding information on how computers use binary numbers to work. I have found that it is somehow related to voltage but I need a better understanding to write a good paper. Do you know of any good resources available to explain this? Or what keywords to use when googling?

Hello. I am writing because our lease just expired and I was informed that our lease automatically renews unless we send something in writing. Here is the exact terms of our lease:

"This lease shall begin on August 7, 2007 and end on July 31, 2008. This lease will be automatically renewed on a yearly basis unless thirty (30) days of written notice is given by either party of their intent to terminate this agreement, or unless another lease is signed by both parties."

To me that clause does not seem to be specific enough. I did not see a specfic timeframe in which we had to give the 30 days notice.

I have two questions:

1) Is this clause specific enough to legally bind us another year.

2) Are our landlords required to give us notice that our lease is about to be renewed??

I like in Oklahoma and have tried to find out our exact rights as tenants but it is hard to understand the legal documents available.

Hi. I am renting a house and my neighbors mentioned there was a lot of illegal activity that went on at this house with the last tenant. One neighbor recalled it being a meth house. Due to the high toxicity of such houses, I would like to review the police history of this house. Are there resources available to look up the address where you live and find out about illegal activity that occured under that address??
