  • Is inhaling airborne bleach horrible for you?

I tried asking Dr. Google but didn’t really find many results. But anyways, I work at a pet store and used a diluted bleach/water solution in a spray bottle today to clean out cricket bins (where people come to buy crickets for their reptiles) and was coughing a bit from the fumes as I did it. All day since then I’ve had a pretty bad, dry cough. I know it’s probably from that but it is also the time of the year for upper respiratory infections so I have my doubts. But my question is, is that amount of bleach fumes as terrible for you as it seems? Should I probably not do that again?

  • What should I feed both my overweight and healthy dogs?

I have three dogs, one overweight and two at healthy weights. I want to get the overweight one, Lily, a weight management food. Could the other dogs also eat this food and be fine, or would they lose weight also even though they don’t need to? Or will I need to feed them all different foods separately?

  • Can this regular exposure to loud noise cause hearing loss/ear damage?

I know this seems like a no brainer question, but I just want to be sure. I work in a grooming salon, and when we bathe dogs, we use a powerful velocity dryer to dry them off. The dryer’s pretty loud and the other groomers wear earplugs or headphones but I never have because the noise never bothered me (I assume it bothers them). I do however notice that after I turn the dryer off, my ears are ringing and I have a hard time understanding anyone who’s talking to me a for a minute or so. I know this definitely isn’t doing my ears any favors, but should I wear ear protection even if the noise doesn’t bother me, just in case?

  • What is digging these holes in my flower bed?

Today I went out for my morning smoke and found four identical holes in my flower bed, each about 3x3 inches wide. I live in northern Kentucky so my guess is that they are either from moles or chipmunks, or possibly even small ground squirrels. Which of these animals is it, and can they damage the roots of my plants? The holes all seem to be against the edge of my flower bed, so it doesn't look like they are under my plants- yet. I want to get rid of them somehow, but I'm a vegan and animal rights advocate so I don't want to put the animals in danger or destroy their homes by filling them in. Can I somehow humanely relocate them away from the flower bed?

  • Fact or myth: Do cigarettes really get worse for you towards the filter?

My parents and I are smokers, and as I was having a smoke with them the other day they noticed that I smoke my cigs all the way down to the filter, like I ve always done. They told me to leave a half inch of the cigarette left because they get worse for you towards the filter. Is this true? Maybe it could have been in the past, but does anyone have a recent, reliable source that proves this claim? I haven t found any and it sounds like BS. If it makes a difference, I only smoke non additive cigarettes (meaning no other unnecessary chemicals are added, only tobacco).

  • Any good alternatives to avocadoes?

I m allergic to them, but as a vegan, a lot of recipes that I want to make call for them. For example, I want to make a spinach soup that calls for avocado- which is imperative to the soup s texture. However, being allergic, I of course can t use one. Is there any other vegetable or savory whole food I could use instead? Maybe even a puréed version of something else?

  • What s the word I m looking for?

I m looking for a word that basically means "technicianship". Like the way you would call being an intern an "internship", but for being a technician. What word would that be?

  • Is it normal to become sweet-sensitive after going vegan?

I went cold-turkey vegan a week ago, and immediately went to implementing lots of rice and veggies into my diet, with very few sweet foods in the mix. Now, whenever I eat something sweet, (whether it is processed sugar or natural sugar- like fruit) I notice that the food now tastes extremely sweet. I know veganism can change the way you taste things, so can it heighten your sensitivity to sweet foods?

  • How can I get my two dogs to get along?

I have a yorkie and she s 7 years old. The last dog she lived with died 2 years ago and she s been without dog friends all that time. Even when we had the old dog, the yorkie (Lily) would sometimes snap at her if we gave her more attention, so Lily already had jealousy issues. Now, we recently brought a new dog into the home. He s almost two years old and probably two times as big as her. But Lily always tries to attack him! We ve unfortunately had to resort to a muzzle after failure on top of failure of introducing them normally, but even still she tries to snap at him and attack him. Her growling and aggressive behavior isn t improving, but we aren t going to give the new guy up either. What can we do?

  • What is the correct terminology for the upper slot on a door?

You probably know the thing in talking about. You know, that little hatch at the upper part of an actual door in place of a peephole. That one that lets you open it and see the person or view on the other side. It s usually in shows or movies featuring a clubhouse or guarded facility. Please help! I need to know for a story I m writing!

  • Will two birds (a canary and a parrotlet) fight each other?

I ve been thinking about buying the canary from my local pet store as a companion of sorts for the bird I already have- a three year old parrotlet. This canary is two years old, and was given away by an old woman who couldn t take care of her anymore, so my guess is this canary is pretty docile and mellow. My parrotlet, however, was unfortunately not raised in circumstances as pleasant before she fell into my care, and is therefore more prone to biting. Do you think if I put these two in a cage together, they would fight? Or should I keep them in separate cages?

  • Can I transfer money from a Starbucks gift card to a debit/credit card?

I have an unused amount of about $30 on a Starbucks gift card, and I'd really like to transfer those funds back to my debit card. I saw an option to transfer the money to a different card, but this only seems to work with transferring the funds to a different Starbucks gift card. Is it possible to put the money back onto a debit or credit card?

  • How do I wash my hair when I have dreadlocks AND an undercut?

So I have dreadlocks (about two months old) on one half of my head, roughly 6-7 inches long, and the other half of my head is shaved. I've since decided to grow out this shaved section, so it's about 1.5 inches of hair that looks similar to a pixie cut. I still have to wash it frequently as it gets greasy, and it's too short to dread yet. How do you think I should go about washing my hair without getting my dreadlocks wet, and without using tons of dry shampoo?

  • Is there any cheap, long, relaxing piano music available on iTunes?

I like to meditate along to instrumental music in places that usually don't have wifi, and using my data isn't really practical. Are there any relatively long instrumental piano tracks that I can purchase on iTunes?

  • Is it okay to bleach my whole head of hair all at the same time?

So I m planning on bleaching my hair tonight with the Féria Extreme Platinum blonde bleach. In the directions, they tell you to bleach the length of your hair first, and then the roots of your hair; both in separate sessions. Is this absolutely necessary, or can I bleach my whole head in one go? (Note: I have "virgin" hair, meaning it isn t dyed at the moment. Will this affect it, too?)

  • Can drinking water too fast make you sick?

So, last night I chugged an entire 16 oz. bottle of water, in about less than 40 seconds, then went to bed. This morning, I woke up feeling like absolute hell. My head was pounding, my body was aching, and my throat & sinuses were inflamed. Could this be the water, or mere coincidental timing?

  • Skyrim Werewolf Perk Glitch?

So I recently became a werewolf on my new Skyrim character, and I've noticed that I haven't acquired any werewolf perk points to spend, and I've been a werewolf (and eaten many hearts) for a while. Even when my character consumes a heart, I don't see any changes in the progress bar. How do I fix this?

  • How can I get my bird to stop biting me?

I've never hurt her/treated her badly with my hands, so there is no reason for her to be scared. Every time I try to socialize with her, she tries to bite at me- even through her cage. It's come to the point that I can't even get her out with my hands; I can only get her out by opening her cage and letting her come out on her own. She's been this way since I got her, and I'm not sure how to deal with it, and I don't want to just give her away to a new owner who only will have the same issue. How can I fix this so we can both enjoy each other's company?
