  • Does the "28-Day Fat-Torch Plan" Work?

I saw this advertised on Men's Health dot com, and wondered if anyone has tried it, or can reasonably testify to its effectiveness for burning fat, particularly belly fat.

Is this plan safe? effective? better/worse to other programs / routines you know of?

    Thank you!

  • What are the best ways to burn belly fat?

I have recently put on a lot of weight, mostly in my mid section--specifically, I have terrible love handles and a muffin top.

I am serious about working hard to trim down my mid-section, but I need help in knowing the best ways to do it

What should I eat? (are there actually "belly fat-burning foods"?)

What exercises / exercise routines should I focus on?

    Your help is SO appreciated!

  • Can you please help me understand the poem "Enigmas", by Pablo Neruda?

Hello fellow poetry lovers! I recently came across this poem, "Enigmas", by the poet Pablo Neruda. If you don't already know it, you may read it here: http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/enigmas/

How might this be interpreted? I find it a little confusing. Perhaps the fact that it is a poem in translation makes it difficult, or perhaps my practical criticism is just rusty, but I would appreciate some insight in the spirit of discussing literature :) Thanks in advance!

  • How do I get my laptop to recognize an external mouse?

I have an HP Pavilion m7 laptop. I recently wanted to plug in an external, USB-port mouse so I wouldn't have to use the touch pad, but I'm having trouble. My computer recognized that I plugged something in, and even asked me to install something for a driver (I think I'm getting the terminology right), which I did. But, the mouse isn't working, and my laptop doesn't seem to otherwise be recognizing its presence - can't find a way to access its settings, or anything.

The mouse I'm trying to use is a mini optical mouse and on the back it says 5V 100mA. I have no idea what that means or if it makes a difference.

Can somebody please tell me how to get this mouse working? Or a helpful suggestion for some other mouse if I need a different one?

    Thank you all in advance!

  • Why does G-mail require a phone number to register?

I recently wanted to sign up for a new gmail account, and noticed that I couldn't actually proceed in getting an account without "verifying" it by giving a cell phone # for them to text me a code. Why do they make this a mandatory aspect of registration? What about people who don't have cell phones (or just don't like giving their number out to strangers / faceless corporations that collect data)?

Is there any way around this?

  • How do I report a Youtube user for spam?

I've come across a user on youtube who's only goal in life seems to be commenting on certain videos, posting link after link to various websites. The websites are related to the videos he posts on, but it's excessive, and he's extremely rude about it. I've marked these sorts of posts as spam, but is there a way to report a user, for discipline, or to have him/her removed from youtube?

  • Songs with capo on 3rd fret for guitar?

    Hello there,

I've discovered that putting a capo on the 3rd fret makes fora very comfortable singing range for me, and also sounds nice. What are some good songs that specifically use capo on the 3rd fret?

(I know I could technically transpose any old song for this range, but I'd like to play some songs written for that key specifically)

  • In what sense do Muslims belief Isa (Jesus) is the Messiah?

I know that the Qur'an affirms the title of Messiah for Isa (Jesus), and so Muslims will confess that Jesus is the Messiah. However, given the theological differences between Islam and Christianity, I'm sure Muslims can't mean the same thing as Christians do when saying that term.

So, I was wondering if someone could explain to me what the concept of Messiah is in Islam, and how Muslims understand it as it applies to Isa (Jesus).

    Thanks!

  • How can Muslims continue to deny Jesus' crucifixion?

In c. 33AD, a man named Jesus of Nazareth was nailed to a Roman cross (i.e. crucified). This is the man Christians believe was the Jewish Messiah, and saviour of the world. It is also a historical fact attested to by both biblical and extra-biblical sources, and is accepted by virtually all scholars as having actually happened (even if you reject the religious significance to it, believed by Christians). However, there is an alarmingly large group of people who just deny this flatly. Muslims, if they believe what the Qur'an says, don't believe that Jesus was crucified. Surah 4:157-158 denies that this even happened.

How can Muslims continue to believe what the Qur'an says about this, over and against all other historical evidence?

  • How do I get rid of offensive "featured" videos on youtube?

So I've noticed now on youtube, there are recommended "featured" videos advertised on the side of the page. Some of these videos are really gross, advertising sexually suggestive (and sometimes explicit) themes. I'm tired of trying to watch videos and seeing a whole bunch of cleavage on my computer! But there doesn't seem to be an option to "close" or remove specific videos from the "featured content". How do I get rid of the crap that I don't want to see?

  • How much should I charge for private English tutoring?

    Hello,

I'm trying to earn some money and some teaching experience this summer by doing private tutoring, but I have no idea what a fair price to charge is.

I am a University graduate, who has an Honours BA in English and Religious Studies, and I am in the middle of completing teachers college. I live in southern Ontario, Canada, in a fairly affluent neighbourhood. The only teaching experience I have has been this past year, about 150 hours teaching in High Schools as part of my practicum experience for teacher's college, but I won't graduate, and become certified, until December 2012.

Given my credentials, and the circumstances, what is a fair price to charge? How can I find this out? What reasoning or methods would you use to determine what's fair?

    Any help here is appreciated!

  • How do I use public transportation in Edinburgh?

    Hello there!

I'm planning a trip to Edinburgh Scotland, but I have no idea how to get around in the city. I'd like to learn as much as I can before I get there, so I don't waste time trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B.

I'd like to stay somewhere central in Edinburgh, near the City Center, or close by. Where do I buy bus tickets? What's the best bus company to use? Is there access to their routes and schedules online?

Also, I will be in Glasgow just prior to traveling to Edinburgh, and I will need to take a train into Edinburgh. What train company is best, and can I book online here in Canada before I go? I so, how do I get my ticket?

    Thank you everyone!

    Cheers!

  • What are the best Hostels, Hotels, or B&B's in Edinburgh Scotland?

    Hello!

I'm planing a trip to Scotland, and I'm going to be spending a few days in Edinburgh on my my own. It's only a couple of weeks away, and I haven't booked my accommodations yet (I know this is not a lot of time). I'd like to stay somewhere more central in Edinburgh (i.e. city center, or close by), I think, as I know it might be easier for me to get around to a few of the different main attractions of the city.

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable, safe hostel? Preferably one which also isn't too expensive, though at the end of the day I'd rather have my peace of mind, and lose a few extra bucks.

If not a hostel, though, any other cheap lodgings which, again, aren't too much of a dive (i.e. dirty or unsafe)?

Thank you so much for any and all answers!

  • Plan a solo trip to Glasgow or Edinburgh?

    Hi there,

I'm a 24 year old Canadian male, who's looking to spend a little time in Scotland on my own. I'm actually thinking about doing a week on a tour around the country, but then staying on, on my my own, in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

I'm fairly clueless at this point. I don't know anything about accommodations, really. Basically, I don't know what room rates are like in those cities. I don't have a lot of money, so I'm looking for inexpensive places, but I also don't want to sleep in filth all night, or have all my stuff stolen.

Also, I won't be able to rent a car, and so I'll have to manage with public transport.

I just want to be able to get the most out of a few short days on my own, I guess. If I had 2 days in Glasgow, 2 in Edinburgh, or even only one day in each city, how do I make the most of my time there? I'm interested in the history of the places, the scenery, and getting to know what the day-to-day culture is like.

If anyone has any strategies for a plan, especially any advice about lodgings/accommodations, and transportation, that would be splendid!

    Thank you so much!

  • How do I plan a unit of study for Romeo and Juliet?

    Hey,

I'm a student teacher candidate in Ontario, and am currently in the throws of designing a unit plan for Grade 9 Academic English. I have chosen Romeo and Juliet. However, having not studied the play since I myself was in Grade 9, I am feeling a little weak in my mastery of the material, and quite lost as how to teach 12-15 lessons on the play, successfully.

It is a course assignment, rather than real-time work for a practicum, but I'm feeling really over my head with this one. I feel clueless - how do I know what parts to focus on? What should I spend the most time on in the play, and what can I do during my class time to teach the material.

Any English teachers out there who can sympathize with a student teacher who feels like he's drowning--please help.

My sincere thanks in advance for any and all ideas.

  • Are there good Christian communities in Swansea, Wales?

    Hello,

I am potentially moving to Swansea, Wales for school this fall. I am a believing Christian, and am concerned about finding a group of other Christians so that we might encourage each other in our faith, and meet together throughout the year.

I would be attending Swansea Metropolitan University, in Swansea, and living in that area as well.

All positive comments are welcome; any information on this will be helpful,

    Cheers!

  • What's the name of this book series - A lady who takes everything literally?

When I was very small, I remember reading a series of kids book that featured a woman who took everything litterally---expressionsm, and sayings, etc. She would have different adventures/misadventures, and always get stuck on the turns of phrases people used. In one she was a teacher and she had instructions to do a "roll call", so she took out her lunch and started calling a bun to come to her (haha). In another when she was told it was time to "hit the road", she got a stick and started whacking the pavement.

Anyway, I have vivid memories of this all of a suden, but I can't think of the name of the books. Any help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

  • Sore back, from excessive and forceful bending/curling forward. Heat? Cold?

This is an embarrassing, but true and serious question: I recently tried to perform auto-fellatio, and basically spent an extended period of time trying to fit my head in between my legs. Needless to say, my back is killing me today from being so violently forceful yesterday. It feels like there's bruising right on the spine, and I have a bit of tingling in between my shoulder blades. I'm really concerned. I don't want back problems, especially since I'm quite young. I lay with some ice packs on my spine for a while today, but am going to try some heat right now. What should I do?
