  • Love for Cousins+PGs Trade?

What are your thoughts on the following deal?

    I receive: Kevin Love

He receives: Demarcus Cousins + Jeff Teague + Darren Collison

He needs assists badly, while I'm loaded at PG after scoring both Teague and Rubio late in the draft. I need a guy who can rebound like (or better than) Cousins, while giving me better shooting percentages (and the extra 3s at PF help too).

The trade was already proposed and accepted... but it was vetoed by Trade Review on the site this league is hosted on. I'm trying to remodel the deal to pass Trade Review, but I'm not certain which side is getting the "unfair" deal.

Should I add a slightly better player to my side? I could upgrade Teague to Jrue Holiday, would that help?

Or do you think Love isn't quite enough for what I'm giving up? Should I have him add in the players he plans to drop to make it seem "more even"?

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

  • Seeking to identify an unusual spider?

I saw this spider in my house about an hour ago and haven't been able to easily identify it online.

I live in western/coastal California, west of LA (Ventura County)... have never seen it here before but I would assume it is native as we haven't brought anything in recently from out of the area.

It was small (about 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter, including legs). It had a bright red body, large and oval shaped (body probably 1/3 to 1/2 inch in diameter). Didn't immediately notice any dots or identifying markings... I didn't pull out a magnifying glass, but nothing was immediately obvious. Dark head, brown or black. Thick, short legs that were striped in white and black/grey... the stripes were very clear and easily identifiable, and they seemed almost fuzzy.

I've seen similar questions that asked about a spider like this, and were answered with a orb-weaving spider or a red jumping spider... but this spider looked absolutely nothing like any picture I found of either of those. In fact, its' body and legs almost resembled a very tiny tarantula... aside from the unusual colorings of course.

    Can anyone identify this arachnid?

  • Keep Greene or Blount?

I play in a deep 16-team keeper football league, and I'm the defending champ so I want to make the right move here.

We can only keep two players, and only players who were kept the year before OR players who were drafted from round 5 on. Plus there's a 2-year limit on keepers, so I'm losing my QB that I've kept the last two years. And you can only keep one player per position (so you can't keep 2 RBs).

Who would you keep... Shonn Greene or Legarrette Blount?

I'm keeping Mike Williams (TB) with my other pick. I know Blount is usually higher rated, but I worry about keeping two players from the same team, especially when TB is not an elite offense. I expect LaDanian Tomlinson to look worse this year than last year, so Shonn Greene will be better than last year ideally... but will he be good enough to match Blount? Or will the Tampa offense with Freeman, Blount and Williams be better than I think?

    Detailed answers appreciated. Thanks everyone!

  • Worried about boss giving bad reference to keep me from leaving?

I've been at my current management/supervisory job within a school for almost 4 years. I've done a fabulous job, passed every state audit I've faced, started multiple programs to benefit the students, opened multiple new schools, and handled nearly every task asked of me.

However... my current boss knows this. Losing me would be very hard for the district, as my knowledge and skills are nearly impossible to replace in the area I live in. And they would have to double my salary just to bring in someone with similar skills from outside our area.

I am absolutely certain that I want to move... I haven't had a raise or gained any benefits since I was hired (I made $18K without benefits last year... my position typically starts $35-55K with full benefits elsewhere), and recent state education budget cuts ensure that I won't have one coming anytime soon. And I've recently started a family, so I cannot afford to raise my family on the same salary I lived on as a bachelor. Even a small raise, say to $22K, isn't going to be enough to support a large family (I had twins, raising my children to 3). I've spent a lot of time considering pros & cons, and I know for 100% fact that I want to leave... I have thought for months about it, have discussed it with friends and family, and have a full list of reasons why I would want to do so (none of which attack the school or my supervisor, other than the low pay).

I've had recent interviews that have gone well. However... I'm worried that if other employers call my current job, she will be surprised and will be dishonest about my work ability as a means of keeping me from leaving.

I'm not worried about being fired, as I'm too valuable to the school and replacing me would be too difficult... if anything, they need me to help train my replacement before I go.

Should I inform my supervisor that I'm looking for other possibilities, so that a phone call does not catch her by surprise? My family really needs me to find a new position, and I'm scared that the great interview I had last week will be ruined by lies solely as a means of keeping me around.

Thank you to all who took the time to read this, and a bigger thanks to those who answer.
