I am trying to join the coast guard and I have 2 accounts in collections I was offered a settlement by the debt collectors and I payed that. My credit score continues to show a balance but It shows the accounts are closed can I still join the military or should I pay the remaining balance?

I am about to apply for a job and i have to provide a driving record, I had a DUI 7 yrs ago at the age of 20,the dui shows up on my abstract driving record but not on the type i am supposed to provide. There is also a question on my application for have i ever been arrested for dui. the dui was dismissed and does not show up on my criminal history record. do i have to admit that? If they do their own background check do you think they will be able to see things that were not on my driving record or criminal history record. Do you think they will care about a dui from 7 yrs ago. the job is for a city and county municipality EMS i am a paramedic and have passed other background checks before this job and never admitted it.

so @ a month ago i crashed my motorcycle and caused significant damage maybe @ 1000$ for me to fix. A few days ago someone stole the bike and it was recovered by low jack, the thief was never caught, some damage was caused by the thief and i have full coverage including theft and no deductible. I am thinking about claiming that the thief crashed it and getting the bike fixed 100%, I am also thinking about getting it appraised at the shop for the damage that only the thief caused and seeing if they will just give me a check for that and i can use the extra money to fix it 100% myself, what should i do?
