  • Yahoo's own email down today? Does Yahoo really want Violation appeal emails?

I just got my second violation notice today, both of them from flaming the same asker. I guess that "tin foil hat" is too rough for some people.

On the other hand, I've got at least 20 "best answer" responses today. Obviously, I'm doing something right, and I'm an asset to this space.

Why does Yahoo! even bother to have an appeal email address for these violation notices? The notices are bouncing today, and the return emails lack the info for a human to look into the issue.

Then again, I have to wonder if any human is actually reading those flags. I have to wonder if English is their first language. It really looks like Yahoo simply deletes anything that anyone flags.

I've watched Craigslist go downhill due to self-flagging and bad moderators. I have to wonder if we'll have the same opinion about Yahoo in another year.

  • Password reset for a Yahoo! YIM and email account?

A friend of mine can't get into her YIM or email. I assume we need a password change. Is there a phone number to get this done (or web page, etc?)

  • How do I stop the automatic update to YIM?

I don't like YIM 8. I like 7 much better. I'm fed up with the constant YIM upgrade prompts. Is there a way to turn them off?

  • A suggestion for new abuse flag for Yahoo! Answers?

Can we PLEASE have a flag for kiddies who want us to do their homework for them?? It's one thing to HELP them do their work, but still another for blatant attempts to write their term paper, or summarize a book they haven't read, etc.

They're asking us to help them cheat, to be dishonest, in essence, to steal. We need to flag them!

How do we go about getting this done?

  • Where are my tabs? my settings? Plugins stink!?

I just rebuilt my computer, including a new install of Yahoo IM.

Where are the tabs for my sports scores? My financial settings? My selected news sources? These plugins stink -- they don't have my settings, and they are very tough to use!

    Where can I get last year's Y-IM?
