  • Las Vegas Restaurant - Can't remember the name?

About 2 years ago, I was in Vegas and I went to this restaurant. I need the name but can't remember it for my life. It was almost hillbilly-themed, they served drinks in mayonnaise jars, fried pickles and there was a bull peeking over the sidewalk or something like that. I was very under the influence so my memory is hazy but does this ring a bell for anyone?? I really need the name. Thank you in advance!

  • Zours - Best candy on earth?

You can't find them everywhere but to start, you must like the concept of the Mike and Ike style candies. I don't typically care for Mike and Ike.. but these zours.. are truly one of the best candies I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Has anyone ever tried these????????

  • Cosmopolitan Las Vegas - Best hotel in Vegas? Sitting on Balcony right now?

I've been to most hotels out here in vegas, this seems to be the best one I've been to. It's just so well executed. Opinions? What's your favorite vegas hotel?

Subquestion: 3 strange girls are showering together in the room while I'm out on the balcony. Why is it ok for girls to shower together? They're giggling and carrying on (not sexually) but they hardly know each other. Ladies? What's the deal with that?

This view is amazing as always, anyone want a pic? =)

  • Why do the churches frown on masturbation? Simple question, but I'm genuinely curious?

What's wrong with making yourself feel good? What does the lord say is bad about it? I've heard that it's a sin, but why is it a sin? When my leg hurts, I rub the muscle. When my bollox are under pressure, I release them. Why is it a sin and why is it different than any other form of self-pleasure?

If your answer is simply quoting bible verses, then you will get an instant thumbs down and I will ignore you. I want actual intelligent answers that you had to use your brain to conjure.

  • Prostitution: I'd love to hear some intelligent arguments for and against its legality?

Do you think prostitution should be legalized and regulated? Why or why not? Would be nice to hear from real people instead of those that just want 2 points.. Also, would be great if you said what state you were from. Me personally, I think it should be legalized, regulated and taxed. Opnions?

  • Anyone have Vegas party bus experience?

I asked this in another channel, but I'm not sure anyone goes in that channel: We have about 16 people for tomorrow in vegas. We've reserved a Hummer limo but I'm wondering if a party bus would be better. I've had some price quotes but they seem high. Anyone know how much a part bus should cost and more importantly, is it worth it? Anyone have party bus experience in Vegas? Thanks!

  • Limos: Hummer vs party bus? Anyone have experience?

Going to Vegas tomorrow and we've reserved a Hummer limo, but I'm wondering if anyone knows how much a party bus should cost and is it worth it? I now have 4 yahooers (awesome!) meeting up and 4 of my friends are going. I assume we'll pick up 3-6 randoms once in town, so say 15 people. Anyone have party bus experience in Vegas? Anyone else want to meet us there while I'm at it???

  • serious question for the under 25 crowd?

I know this is going to sound a bit like a troll question but I'm completely serious. I've noticed that the under 25 crowd has some of the poorest spelling and grammar I've ever seen in my life. My question is three parts: do you guys know how horrible your spelling is or is it normal to you? And, do you truly just not care at all? Is it like cool or something to be dumb and not care? I'm not making fun, I'm genuinely curious. Every time I've tried to correct someone it's the same "who cares" type answer. I'm not even that old, so it's not like I'm out of touch and just bitter. There was a drastic, massive drop in intelligence from my generation to this one. I'm really trying to figure out why.

  • Why has the American youth become so stupid?

I posted this in yahoo UK somehow from my phone, and I don't want to type it all over again. It's not easy to use this service via mobile. Please check out the question here: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201...

  • US vs UK vs AU what happened to the American youth?

I grew up in the US, California to be exact. I'm the generation that grew up as the internet did; in 1995 it was all just beginning. Now, some time has passed, and every day, I'm saddened by the state of my own country's youth. You go look on answers UK or answers AU, and the kids speak English. They can spell. They can form proper sentences. What the hell happened to the American youth? Why are the kids here so utterly stupid? I'm not a troll and I really do live in Los Angeles, where I was born and raised. The level of stupidity in today's American youth is frightening. Am I the only one that's noticed that?

  • Polish - I need help from someone that can read/translate Polish?

Most of my family has passed away and the remaining members cannot understand Polish. I just found a large amount of postcards dating back to the 60s sent from my family in Poland to my now deceased relatives. Is there anyone out there that would mind helping me to translate them? I'm dying to know what they say. I can scan them and send them. I don't have enough money to compensate you for the service, I'm just hoping someone out there might find it interesting enough to help out and share with me what these old pieces of history are all about. Thanks!

  • I'm sure this has been asked, but I literally cannot change my thumbnail pic?

Does anyone know why? I'm a pretty savvy computer guy, I've done everything I'm supposed to do in my profile. No matter what I do, I can't get my pic to work on here. I can see it in my inbox, but it won't show on yahoo answers. Any ideas?

  • Islam is essentially a peaceful religion, correct?

I've known many good Muslim people. Since the "Islamic extremist" has given Islam a bad name in the western world, why don't peaceful Islamists condemn the actions of the fanatical Muslims?

  • Is carbon dating (c14) flawed? Why or why not?

Someone in another post said that radiometric dating is flawed and the implication there was that it was "a scientific lie." Sides to support or negate the stance that carbon c14 dating is accurate?

*I know I said the previous question was my last, but I lied. I'm an atheist. We're all liars ;)

  • Second and last serious question of the day from this atheist (no bashing please)?

I really appreciate the mature responses in my previous question. Thanks again to all that contributed. Second question:

One of the hardest things for me to swallow as an atheist is the idea that without "accepting jesus as my salvation" I'm going to be going to hell. Now, hell, is supposed to be this eternal place of torture. Brimstone, fire, punishment, torture... hell. In my travels, I've met many, many people. The fact is, most people are not christian and most people do not know or accept jesus. I assume this means that they're all going to hell..

I was in Australia for a while, and had the pleasure of staying with an indigenous people for a couple weeks. I ate as they ate, worked as they worked. I'm a white, jewish-by-birth atheist. I've never believed in the god I'm supposed to believe in, or anyone else's god either, I've always been an atheist from day one (just a bit of background).

I understand if I ended up in the oven (wow, poor, poor choice of words) because I've been exposed to christianity and jesus, and I've chosen to reject it, so it makes sense that I'd be punished.

My question lies in these indigenous people I had the privilege of understanding: They are a very religious people however they know nothing of jesus. Their religion actually predates jesus. Rock paintings have been found dating back to as far back as 60k years (carbon dated, verified) and often include images of animals that have been extinct for eons. On another note, they are some of the kindest people I've ever known, and I don't mean walk-an-old-lady-across-the-street kind. They will die to feed you, literally. They don't lie about anything. There is no crime among them as they all need to work to survive, and they all help each other like nothing I've ever seen. So, are they all going to be eternally punished? If so, for what? If they have NO way of knowing jesus, why would they be punished?

Secondly, how do the religious explain the predating of this religion? It's not as if it were around the same time as jesus. We're talking 55 thousand years before jesus walked the earth. How do theists explain the time gap between this groups' existence and the christian creationist idea of earth's timeline?

These are the things that keep me from treating christianity, or any modern day organized religion for that matter, with any seriousness. Rather than come on here and continue to battle and insult, I'm really curious as to what the explanations are. If you're a theist, you plainly believe with all your heart in something that in my eyes, cannot be factually correct. So, I'm curious as to what has driven you to believe so whole-heartedly in something that makes no sense to me. It doesn't lack because I'm stubborn, it lacks because I've seen evidence in my life that strongly disproves much of what I've been told christianity is about.

I've seen theists bash on atheists and agnostics for being "afraid" or "selfish" but, in my case, and I believe in the case of many atheists, we've seen things that make the bible (and torah, and quran, and the like) and the story of jesus impossible according to modern hard data.

So, let me sum up this long obnoxious question:

    1) How and why would someone go to hell, to be punished for eternity, for not accepting jesus into their heart when they've had no chance to do so?

    2) How do theists get around the fact that there is hard data that disproves many, many things the bible (the book of god which cannot be flawed since god is perfect)?

I'd appreciate intelligent answers from theists without the nonsensical bashing usually associated with (a)theist discussions.

And, to my fellow atheists, no bashing from you either, there's no need.

    Thank you in advance!

  • Real question about god by an atheist (not bashing, being serious)?

If god is all knowing, doesn't he "know" if I am (or anyone else is) a good person regardless? Why do people need to do things to "show" god they're good, why doesn't god already know it? I've heard the answer before that "god gave us free will" but if that's the case, then he gave us the ability to hide our intentions from him, therefore nullifying his omnipotence. So, what's the deal? Is god all-knowing or isn't he? And if he is, doesn't he already know everything I'll do my entire life?

  • Why doesn't Yahoo Answers display users' ages?

Wouldn't it make sense to display users' ages? Sometimes I see a question that looks like the dumbest question I've ever seen, then realize the person is 14. It would help to know that someone is a minor or not so you could address people in the proper context with the proper perspective. Anyone have any ideas on how to suggest this? Is it already there and I'm missing it?
