The guide I have says it can be found in the Molco shop, but it's not there. My freindship gauge is at 100% and I'm on W3D7. Do I have to complete the game before it'll become available for purchase?

I've been trying to use Windows Live Messenger to voice-chat with my boyfriend, and I've done it successfully in the past. But then my laptop started having problems, so I gave it to my grandpa to fix it. When I got it back, he had replaced the hard drive. But now, when I try to voice-chat, my mic doesn't work correctly. It's the exact same mic and it works perfectly on my mom's computer. So I figured that maybe I was missing a driver for my soundcard. So I went online to find and download it, but I have a problem- I don't know what type of soundcard I have. Is there a way to find out without having to open up my laptop?

Also, does anyone have any other suggestions about the problem with the mic?

I ask a legitimate question, and I get no answers, but these wackos ask stupid questions and get like 50 answers. I really truly need to know something and these people are just bored. I know we're not supposed to rant, but right now, losing ten points is the least of my worries.

It got a thing saying I need to install directx 9.0c to install life stories. So I went to the microsoft website and downloaded it. Then I tried it again. It still gave me the error. So I restarted my computer. No luck. I checked and I have the right version of directx, but it won't let me install the sims life stories! I installed it on my laptop with no problems. What do I do?
