In my school, students must stop what they're doing for the pledge. If in a hallway, they must stop walking to their class (even if late or busy). I absolutely think the pledge should be taken.... once and without the "under God portion". My school, and many others, make accommodations for Muslim students by allowing them time to pray in the hallway in the middle of class. Does everyone have to stop walking by them to not disturb their observance? No. I think that by taking time out of a student's educational time for an optional, opinionated, pledge (which even isn't a pledge because it has to be said more than once apparently) is as unconstitutional as forcing someone to say the pledge during public school hours. I think all students should pledge their allegiance to their country (without the religious part of course). But to have that observance repeated and interfere with designated class time is not within the premise of public schooling.
