  • Can I switch oils for my butcher block?

I bought a beautiful end-grain teak butcher block. I started oiling with straight mineral oil. Now I want to try walnut oil. Can I switch now after I ve already been using mineral oil?

I don t care about Boo s cream or Howard s mystery crap, I m using straight mineral oil for the simplicity and low price. I want to try walnut oil for its "hardening" or protective barrier effect. I m not looking for advice on what to use. Only whether or not i can switch to walnut oil, now that I ve already done a few coats with mineral oil. Thank you

  • Why does my child prefer the foot of the bed?

My son is 2 and a half yrs old, and sleeps in the bed with his mother and me. His spot is in the middle (provides for more leg room for us) and he loves to snuggle up with mom at night to watch tv. He even gets jealous and pushes me away if I get too close. But come time to go to sleep, he crawls down to the foot of the bed just below me. Middle of the night, he'll come back up and burrow up next to me, but lately he loves that spot at the foot of the bed to start every night. We havea king bed, there's plenty of space. Does he just like to do his own thing? Or is he consciously (or instinctually) staying close to the bedroom door, as a protector of mom? (She's pregnant) I don't know what to make of it, maybe he's just too hot until the a/c really gets kicking... thoughts? Is this a common thing for toddlers in general?

  • Why does my amp turn off?

My friend hooked up my stereo yesterday. It's just a 500 watt Jensen amp with two ten inch sony explodes. When I turn the volume up, if the subs hit "too hard" (i guess), the amp will turn off for a second. The power light goes out, the protect light does not come on, and it turns itself back on after about three seconds. I can barely turn it up, the subs don't even have to hit very hard at all for the amp to shut off. I understand this may be a safety feature, but it shouldn't be so sensitive. Is it because I should have a higher watt amp or what? The cd player I have advertises 240 watts, but doesn't say '60w x 4' or anything like that.

  • Repeat problem with O2 Sensor?

2003 Saturn L300, v6 engine. I had a code for a bad 02 sensor (heated). Bank 1, sensor 1, high side. I replaced the sensor and the light went away immediately. I drove around the block a few times, no problem. Then I went home, went to bed, the next day as soon as I started the car up, the code is back! Possible MAF sensor? I can't assume it's a relay, definitely not a fuse, because the light did go out temporarily. Any ideas?

  • Who said this quote, and when?

Who said this, and in what year? "...It's a war for control; control of your mind and your body. Americans are traditionally independent, very hard to control. But the architects of the New World Order have ways to force you into submission. First, through a well orchestrated agenda, including health care, financial security, safety from crime and environmental issues, the public will be coerced into accepting a National Identification Card. It will be disguised in the cloak of benevolence. The government will be doing a great 'good deed' for the people."

  • Can I claim head of household?

I only worked for five months last year, and I have been receiving unemployment ever since. My boyfriend lives with me, and he is not the father of my daughter. Therefore, I would like to claim head of household. He works full time but I want to claim my daughter and we do our taxes separately. Can I still claim head of household, and for that matter, can we both claim head of household?

  • Can I have too big of a capacitor?

If I have a small system in my car, some 10 in subs and a 500 watt amp, and I get a large capacitor, like 2 farads, can that be a bad thing? will it make the sound quality worse or put too much strain on anything? I'm looking into a large cap so I'll have it later when I upgrade my system.

  • Saturn L300 Thermostat won't come out?

I followed every step in the book, even removed some things they didn't mention. the thermostat will lift from the engine block, but I can't get it out from between the timing cover and the intake spacer. It's like they made the space just barely too small to remove the thing. Any input?

  • Replace fuel filter on 85 Buick Lesabre?

The fuel filter paper element that goes in front of the carburator. I don't want to snap my fuel line. Do I take the entire rubber (or plastic) piece off, fuel line/ nut and all, then remove the larger nut behind it? or do I have to free up the fuel line so the smaller nut will spin without breaking the line? Or does it just pull off?? Any insight is appreciated.
