Just resently i was hit with a virus i searched the internet and realized that it was a common virus and many others have gotten the same thing. The virus contained of a fake desktop that was red with a toxic symbol my task bar and my system properties but had virus alert on them and in my start button there were things missing and my mycomputer was missing also...Some how i was able to get rid of all that and get back my missing things in the start button. But the problem is since then my Firefox is acting very weird sometimes if i get out of firefox i will not let me back in but sometimes it will but it happens more not letting me back on than allowing me to i also just resently following behind getting the virus had updated firefox to firefox 3

I went on searching and found something but not sure at all if this could be the problem at all The error console in Firefox has alot of skips and dropps they look like this

I guess what i need is a step by step guide of helping figure out exactly whats wrong and how to fix this.

I will let you know all the applications that i have downloaded on my computer

-I have wireless internet

-Web Browser is Firefox 3

-I have Windows XP

-My Anti Virus is Avira Antivir

-I have Spoybot Search & Destroy

-For a Back Up program i can use NTI Back Up Now! 4.7

Please if there is ANY one that can give me a some kind of guide step by step to help be get my firefox working again i will greatly appreciate!

Now how do i decided whats important and whats not??

I don't know much about computer but all i know is there is something weird going on with it. There are a few things that i have notice are acting strange to me i will list them

1. Okay just resently i was hit with some kind of virus...Well what i think is a virus. I got a fake desktop which was like a webpage but was made to look a desktop which was red and had a toxic sybmol then i had a virus alert in my task bar and also in my system properties. I some how got rid of all that with downloading new antivirus which i got avira free edition because the antivirus that i had before this had not been picking up anything and wouldn't run or let me update it so then i ran spybot but there was nothing saying i had anything but then there was problems starting

2. I know have noticed that my firefox has been acting funny. I can get on check email get on web all day long but if i exit out of firefox and then try to get back on it sometimes will not let me and this happens more than letting me on again..i don't know if there were updates that i never updated or what but anways i uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it again thinking that maybe this problem would go away and maybe install updates and add ons that need to be with firefox but it didn't fix the problem i've search the net haven't found anything that can help someone that doesn't know anything about computers.all i know is that in my error console there are alot of declartions dropped and the symbols on the side are all yellow triangles with a exclamation point in the middle

All i need is someone to give me a Step by Step guide of how to fix this problem

I guess what i need is a Computers for dummies guide lol

I just want to fix this problem so i can sleep at night!!

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP THE COMPUTER DUMMY! please please please!
