I am a thirty something Christian woman. I married to an amazing man and have lived in the same area north of Houston since I was 5. I am mother of 2 beautiful and sweet boys who homeschool using a variety of curriculums and am always searching for something new. I have 2 pugs and a cat, so my feet are always warm. I LOVE DISNEY and recently started working as an agent for 3D Travel Company a company that specializes in Disney vacations, so now I get to help others experience the magic of Disney! I LOVE MY JOB!

  • Help with cheap books or ideas for Classical Homeschooling?

Ok, so I am going to try a Classical approach next year. I have decided to begin with the second year (Mideval to Early Rennaisance) because we have studied plants and animals for the last couple years in the science curriculum we have used and my son and I are both ready to move on. I have bought TONS for this first year. I have the Story of the World and the Activity book, I have First Lang. Lessons for Grammar, I have books on history, science, and literature. I have a little for math, but really want to stay away from a curriculum this year and just focus on reviewing and strengthening so I may get some topic driven books for that, but I still need writing, spelling, and some of the books for language arts that are recommended. Any ideas on what I can use, other than what is in Well Trained Mind or where I can find things cheaper or any advice would be great! I feel like I am $5 and $10 myself into the poor house, and I mean what if it just doesn't work for us? HELP!!!!!!!

  • School during the summer?

Ok homeschoolers, summer is coming...Do you take the time off like public school or have a shorter school day, but still keep working to keep fresh, or continue with a normal school schedule for the whole summer?

I am looking to hear from ya'll. I think if I take the 2 1/2 months off we could lose some ground, but I am not sure that I would not have rebellion at a full schedule. What do you do?

  • Adding Pictures and old posts?

Is there a way to add more than one picture to a post? I have seen people who seem to have done it, but I don't see how. Help?

Also, is there a way to go in and add a post for a previous day and still have the whole thing be in order? I had some issues with the computer and wanted to go back and add updates rather than have one huge post.

    Thanks for any help!

  • What does your faith say about creation?

I know that most atheists and agnostics believe in evolution, Christians mostly believe in a Genesis creation, but what do Muslims, Buddists, wiccans, and other religions believe? What does it say in your religous books?

  • I just got a dell laptop and somehow my son got the picture on the monitor turned sideways. HELP?

We got it switched back by pressing F8 but I have no idea why this worked. It would be good to know how he did it incase it happens again. Also on the f8 key in blue there is something that says CRT/LCD what is that? Thanks.

  • People of all beliefs, why do you answer?

When you answer a religious question do you answer to spread or explain your faith or belief? To answer like a poll is being taken and you opinion counts? To be funny? To be argumentative? To get people thinking? How do your answers accomplish what you are trying to do?

I am not trying to discourage people from answering questions or critisizing methods I am just trying to get an idea of where people are coming from. Thanks

  • How are Jewish people absolving their sin in current times?

Based on old testament practices Jews slaughtered animals to rid themselves of sin. The high priest would go into the temple and behind the veil into the Holy of Holies and sprinkle blood on the ark of the covenant. Today no one knows where the ark of the covenant is and the temple is not under Jewish control. Christians believe that after the Christ died sacrifices were no longer nessecary because the Messiah had come. But the Jews don't beleive Christ is the Messiah. They are still waiting, so what do they do to absolve sin now?
