  • Is this a legit job?

I have been applying for jobs for quite a while now with no joy. I applied for a driving job which requires no experience beside a driving licence and promises to pay above average. I received a very short phone call from this company asking me if I was free to attend a recruitment day tomorrow. They then text me the location and the documents I had to bring ie passport, bank statement, utility bill etc. My question is this a legit company? They have very limited information online and I cant shake of the feeling it seems too good to be true. I have been trying to call them all day to have my queries answered but I'm having no luck getting through. It keeps going through to voicemail.

I was wondering if anyone can help and verify this company.

I have posted the link below:

    Thanks in advance.

  • Any ideas on how to make this cake?

I want to make a 'joke' cake for my brothers 16 birthday..but i have no idea how to go about it...the other day i saw on TV that there are those big massive fake cake where a girl pops out of it..however, i want to do this on a much much smaller scale...it needs to be almost like 'jack in the box' but a cake if it makes sense (so when he blows out the candles the figure pops out of the cake) Is there any where to do this or is too ambitious.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • My mum keeps comparing me to my sister?

I have a sister who is younger then me by one year. She is prettier then me, by that i mean she is hot, although im pretty I pale in comparison. The thing is my mother and everybody else compares me to her in looks, I can understand everybody else saying that my sister is way prettier then me, because its true she it, but its when my mum says it, that's when it hurt, it gets me down. I have talked to my mum about it .. she doesn't say it directly to me as much and she is more subtle about it for example if me and my sister are trying on the same dress, she would say it suits my sister better because she has a nicer complexion.

How can i stop this? I try ignore the comments but it still gets to me.. Please help.

  • Is this pay too little?

I've been offered a job as a administration assistant in a solicitors firm. the pay is 5.85 per hour. I'm 21. I get weekends off and I've just graduated from university. Is this pay too little. The interviewer said that the pay is negotioble. however, i have never negotiated pay and i do not know how to go about this. Also, if I do how much is reasonable to negotiate to.

  • I got a parking fine. Should i pay it or appeal it?

I parked in superstore car park (which is five minute walk from city center) around 9.45 am. I then went to the city center and returned after half an hour. I did my shopping in the superstore and returned back to my car to find that i have a 'parking notice' on my window. (It was just past 11am now). the notice says 'your vehicle was parked on this land whilst you were not in the premises.' The time I have been fined is at 9.49. This car park is a free car park. the sign says it allows customers of the superstore to park there for two hours. I have a reciept of my purchase that I was there in the store at 11am. (I was well within the two hours). I'm assuming the parking officer saw me leave the car park (as the time i was fined is so close to the time i arrived.)

My question is do you think i have a case to appeal the charges, or should i just pay the fine and get it over and done with. On the 'notice' it says if you pay within ten days your fine will be halved. so it will then be £40 rather than £80.

Also, is this a legit website: www.national-clamps.com

I'm live in England, if it helps

    Please advise

  • How to get into counselling?

I'm exploring my career options and am attracted to the role of a counsellor. I was just wondering how do you become a counsellor. What kind of intergrity and aptitude tests do you have to take. How many years of study is it. Also, How much would this cost.

    Thanks in advance

  • Returning faulty products?

I brought a digital kitchen thermometer in a store two days ago.. I decided to invest in a more expensive one. However when I tried it today it is not working. My question is whether I can return this and get my money back. The problem is the packaging was one of those sealant types, the ones you have to cut through, so now it is not in a very sellable condition. Am I within my rights to return the product as it is not working. I live in the uk if this helps.

  • How do I deal with gossip about me which is true?

My great aunt came to visit us yesterday. Nobody in my family really like her, because shes a despicable women. My mum told me to lie for her and say shes not in. But i got all tongue tied and couldn't get my words out, (did i mention to you im not a very good liar,) she could tell that i was hiding something and that i didn't want her there. I ended up telling her the truth. (she kept pestering me and asking me where my mum was)... by this time she was already inside the living room (after forcing her way in). When I eventually told her the truth, (she could tell she wasn't wanted) she storms out the house saying 'Don't invite me in then, don't bother to offer me any tea' and slams the door behind her.

I feel really bad about the way i treated her even though she's not a nice women, I know i was in the wrong and that even though "my mum wasn't in" i should have invited her in. The worst thing is she likes to gossip. By the time I have wrote this, all my cousins will know that her 21 year old niece did not treat her hospitable manner.

I've learnt my lesson but i'm just worried about what she will say to everyone. We have a family gathering soon and I do not want to face her again. (I have no choice but to go to it) The women has a long memory and will repeat the story to everyone, just to embarrass me. How do i deal with this?
