  • spraying or painting sealer on brick chimeny?

i have been having water in my ceiling below the brick chimney. i have had the flashings redone, and shingles checked and tared for leaks. i can not find any leaks from the roof so we believe it is comming thru the chimney. i had it sealed once with a paint brush, and the leak has slowed down alot, but not quite. i was thinking of re sealing the chimney with a better product, and spraying it on with a small compressed air sprayer. any thoughts or ideas thanks

  • water leaking around chimney area?

i have water coming in my ceiling for up to two weeks after it rains around my chimney area. most of it has stopped, as i hired a roof repair person with 27 years experience who fixed it twice but it is still leaking around the hatch area to the attic, but causing not much damage. the roof if about 8 years old. he has found a couple of leaks, sealed the flasing around the chimny, sealed under some shingles, and water proofed the chimney. if it still leaks, i wonder if i have any other choices, if he cant repair it thankyou.

  • does this sound reasonable re installing of new central air?

my 78 year old mother in-law had central air for 22 years in her home, then the air conditioner stopped working, and had a new one installed. she lives in ontario, canada. the company charged her 5,000.00 dollars, and talked her into moving the air conditioner to another spot, and moved a hose, were the water drained. the house is a 1200 square feet approximately , and they replaced the air conditioner with the same Output as the old one. i do not understand why they moved it because the old one worked fine in the same spot for over 22 Years. air . i think this is an excessive amount. what do u think thanks
