As God is omniscient, why did he create the snake in the Garden (or, if we're doing this metaphorically, evil/satan) when He knew it would be what would ultimately separate us from Him? Just curious guys, any sensible input will be vair appreciated.

I'm a Christian, and have been struggling with verses that keep seeming to pop up as I read the Bible lately that appear to condone slavery. Example:

Exodus Chapter 21, verse 20:

If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

what immediately jumps out at me is why is God allowing a slave to be mistreated, let alone kept? Part of me thinks that this is the old testament and therefore God is keeping with the mindset of the times i.e people would have kept slaves anyway, so rules must be made. But then God had the ultimate power, and could have condemned slavery from the offset.

again, Colossians, chapter 3, verse 22:

Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever your task, work heartily...

I don't understand! As Jesus preached love and equality and we know all are created equal, why does the Bible say this??? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

So, me and friends who read Twilight were thinking of doing something like this for TWILIGHT, everyone who lives in London meeting up at Leicester for us all to watch Twilight together!

Everyone could dress up as a character( I'm gonna be Charlie from the movie lol) and it would be really cool if there were loads of us all watching it together!! So, who's in?

As you probz know, the 1st 12 chapters of MS were leaked, and Stephenie Meyer found out. She was extremely angry, and wrote that it was postponed indefinitely..she also made the 1st 12 chapters available for download, which makes me think she won't continue, as her giving out the chapters looks like she's given up. I read the chapters, and it's AMAZING!! I really hope she does release it, and soon!

Cuz wouldn't that be really boring? Not that it's a bad book, but not a lot happens for a long time. And they would lose a lot of Robert Pattinson fans,seeing as he'd probz only be in it for a short while.

I've noticed this is an area which many Christians are divided in, and I'm interested to know people's opinions, especially on issues such as masturbation. I personally am going to try to stay a virgin until marriage, however my atheist parents have never married, and are still together, so I do struggle to fully understand the problem with sex before marriage. Serious answers please, I am really interested to know how people feel!!

I've noticed a lot of people on here discussing masturbation, and I'm not sure what I think of it myself as I am a Christian, and believe in staying a virgin until marriage. So, what do other Christians on here think? Is masturbation sinful, or from a non religious point of view does it count as sex? BTW i'm not judging anyone here and dnt wanna start an argument, whatever anyone believes I will respect. :)

I am a 15 year old girl and in May 2007 (aged 14) I got my period for the first time. It was very heavy and lasted about 9 days. It didn't return until Jan 2008, when it was exactly the same as before. It came back in June 08, but was very light and consisted of very little actual bleeding, overall it lasted about 4 days. Then in July I experienced light brown blood similar to the beginning of a period, then bled actual red blood for about an hour, only to experience what looked like the end of a period. Last night I went to the toilet and began bleeding heavily, so I put in a pad and went to bed, only to wake up and find I wasn't bleeding at all and hadn't bled all night. It is one month on from the last time I bled, but it still can't be normal to only bleed for less than a day. I know the doctor will say to wait and see, and that's what my mum is saying, but I'm nearly 16 and really want to know what's going on. Can anyone help? Has anyone experienced anything like this? Lol soz it was so long, it's kind of complicated lol. Please help! xxxx
