My dad died three years ago and ever since then, I've had anxiety and trouble sleeping and nightmares. I take melatonin to help me get to sleep (it usually helps) but it doesn't keep me asleep or stop the nightmares. I even take meds for anxiety, but still have the nightmares. How can I stop them? My sister sometimes hears me and wakes me up, but there's usually nothing she can do to calm me down other than get me a weighted blanket and put on Friends and wait. Should I tell my mom? I used to go to therapy but it didn't help the nightmare thing. If I told her she'd probably want to put me back in but I don't want to do that because we can't really afford it. Is there anything I can do to stop them?

Lately, my mom has been acting really weird. She gets mad over the smallest things. She could ask for a charger for the old computer no one uses anymore and if I say I don't know where it is, she gets super mad and threatens to ground me. Just recently I asked her where the recipes for a meal were and she shouted at me to look around for them. Which I had already done. I said they weren't on the counter where I put them and she got really angry talking about how she didn't move them and literally grounded me because I didn't know where the ******* recipes are. What do I do to stop her from getting so angry all the time?

I'm 14, and so far most of my friends faces seemed to have aged if that's the right word. By that, I mean their cheekbones are more prominent, their faces are less round, their eyes aren't as big, etc. But mine's still round and babyish. I've started my period, unlike my other friend that still has her baby face. How old were you when your's went away?

I'm only using two paperclips, and what I'm doing is putting one at the bottom and using the other one to push up the pins. But the pins don't stay up. What am I doing wrong?

My friend has attempted suicide 3 different times. She saw a therapist for a little bit, but had to stop because it was too much money. She's never been taken to the doctor to see if she has depression and has never taken any meds for it. Is there anything I can do to help her? I've talked to her parents several times. Her dad basically just says it's her fault for not trying harder and her mom just keeps saying Jesus will help her. Is there anything else I can do?

In a story I m writing, the main character s name is Jennifer. She prefers everyone call her Jenny or Jen, but I thought her best friend should have a different nickname for her. Would Fer work?

I have pretty bad anxiety and sometimes I'll have random anxiety attacks. I've told my mom about them, but she just brought me to a therapist, which didn't help. I told my friends, but they didn't really listen to me, because another friend started complaining and that quickly took over my issues. Are there any over the counter anxiety medications I could take? Should I try going back to the therapist? Also, how do I get over the attacks more quickly?

So, a few months ago my friend told me he liked me and we kind of ignored it and still remained close. I went over to his house earlier today, and I kept telling him really bad puns and wouldn't shut up even though he told me to. As I was about to tell the punchline of another he kissed me. I wasn't sure what happened so I left. I think I upset him, and I'm not sure if I should call or go back over to his house or what. I was going to call to leave another bad pun, but I'm not sure if I should just ignore it like I did when he said he liked me. Advice?

I recently found out that the family I typically babysit decided to leave their kids home alone. The kids are in third grade, first grade, and preschool. The oldest has an phone and their mom was trying to call her and the girl decided not to answer . What age do you think is best for kids to be left home alone?

I m in eighth grade and my friends are always joking on how ugly I am. I try to join in, and just joke on myself but it still hurts so I tried to take it as like advice on what to change. I tried to change because of all of this stuff but there s no difference. I feel like I m not doing enough even though I have all of these things I do but I m still so ugly. Am I trying too hard? Should I try harder?

My little sister is in first grade and she's 'dating' a boy I babysit. At first I didn't think it was that big of a deal and I thought they just wanted the title and they were just friends. They hold hands a lot, but I thought that it was fine because little kids do hold hands and it wasn't a big deal. Then on Valentines, I was babysitting my siblings and a couple of other kids (including the boy my sister is dating) and I didn't let my sister have chocolate before dinner. She started crying (normal) and told the boy that I was being mean and they went and hid behind the couch, where I can't fit. I heard them whispering about how mean I was (normal) and then the boy leaned over and kissed my sister on the mouth! It was only a little peck but I was still shocked. I told my sister that she and the boy had to come out from the couch immediately. I made them stay separated for a little while, making my sister cry. Should I tell my parents? They know the two are 'dating' but they don't know about the kiss. Am I overreacting? Is this normal for a little kid?

We've known each other since he was born, and we used to go to each other's houses for sleepovers when we were little. Then we became school age, and he's a year younger than me and goes to a different school. Once I turned 11 we weren't aloud to have sleepovers anymore, and so for the past couple of years I only see him occasionally, but when we do see each other, we play games, and it's always a good time. I tell him stuff I don't even tell my friends I see daily. Anyways, a few days ago I went over to his house, and he was acting all weird, not really looking or talking to me. I played with his little sister for a few minutes then went up to his room, because he had abandoned me to go there. I asked him 'what the hell was going on with him' and he just told me nothing. I told him he was a bad liar and asked him again. He then told me he liked me. I just sort of said 'oh' and sat on a chair in his room. He left out of sheer awkwardness, and I sat there until my mom told me we had to leave. I kind of like him, but I REALLY don't want to screw up our friendship. He's my best friend and I don't know what I would do without him. Please help!

We are learning about evolution and stuff and I find it pretty interesting. My friend hates it because she s an extreme Christian and says that it s a sin to learn about this because it s untrue. I told her that it was dumb to do this, because if she doesn t get her grade up she can t do the school play. Then my friend told me I was going to go to hell for liking to learn about this stuff. What should I do?

So my friends and I are putting on this skit and there's this one disappearing act where we use the smoke from dry ice. I was wondering if we could somehow dye it yellow (the smoke). Is there any way this is possible?

Her mom accidently left her iPad at my house, and now the girl is refusing to get off it. It's time for them to go to bed, but the girl refuses to get off the iPad. I told her it was bedtime but then she started yelling at me that her mom wouldn't have left it here if she didn't want her to play on it. I told the girl that it was probably an accident and that she needed to get off. The girl started crying and locked the door and won't get off the iPad. Please help!

We have been friends since we were two, and she has always been really happy and stuff even though her life was hard. But then this year, her mom let her dad move into their new house, and he had non stop yelled at her, her sister and her mom. After that her dad got fired. Then he got kidney stones and surgery that they couldn't pay for. And then he had an allergic reaction to some medicine and almost died. My friend is afraid they will lose their house because they don't get enough money and is even worried they won't get enough money for food and new clothes and stuff and will have to move back into their grandma's house. She's started cutting and even wrote a suicide letter. :(. I want to help but she's already seen a counselor, and it never helped, and I honestly agree. Also, she probably never forgive me if I told a counselor. Her mom already thinks that she's being a horrible mom, so if I told her, then she would've just thought she was being a worse mom. Her dad wouldn't even believe her and would just say it was attention. I really don't know what to do and I'm really scared someone please help me!

I hate running. A lot. I'm also not very flexible, but my mom says I have to do a sport. Is there any sport that doesn't have a lot of running? At all? I know there's dance, and I guess I could try it, but I would prefer not to.
