  • Tax Question: Can she file her own taxes or does her father claim her?

My stepdaughter is 16. She just got a part-time job in September, right after she turned 16.

Her father has always claimed her on his taxes, per the divorce decree. Even though she doesn't live with him, that was the agreement when her mother and father were divorced.

Now that she is employed, will she need to file her own taxes? Do they both file? How does this work?

A little additional info, she has already discussed this with him. He says she can't file and take that deduction away from him. She wants to file and try to get a refund for herself. She has asked her mother and I what to do. My suggestion, while trying to stay out of a possible argument is that he probably has the legal right to do claim her and she will have to wait until she is 18 to claim herself. However, I don't want her to get in trouble with the IRS and not file either.

Any help with suggestions or maybe the right direction to look to would be helpful and appreciated. I just wanted to get some ideas before calling an IRS so I will some kind of idea of what to say.

  • 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse?

I parked the car and went into the store. I came back out and the car wouldn't turn over. I had lights, radio, etc so I knew it wasn't the battery. I moved the steering wheel and moved the gear stick through the gears (reverse, neutral, drive, and back to park) still had nothing.

Finally, not sure why, but I put it in neutral and moved the car an inch or two and it started.

Ok, weird but at least it started. And then I notice the SES light come on. I will go get that checked tomorrow. After getting home I shut the car off and then tried to start it again. Same issue and same process to get it to start.

Any ideas of what this could be?

  • 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS A/C issues?

I have a 2001 Eclipse. The air is cold then all of sudden it is warm. If I turn the air off and then back on again, it usually is ok for awhile. At least until I set idle and then it usually starts getting warm again. I figure this probably has something to do with a fan relay or something but not really sure. But now there is another problem. I noticed that the floor board on the driver's side only is soaked and I suspect this has something do with the A/C also. It doesn't smell like antifreeze but not really sure what else it could be.

Any suggestions or recommendations on both these issues would be appreciated.

  • 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse A/C issue?

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. When I drive down the road with the air on, it blows cold. However, when I am sitting idle, in gear or in park, the air starts blowing hot. As soon as I start to move again, it starts blowing cold again.

I have no idea where to start looking to determine what is going on and how to fix this problem.

Any ideas, suggestions, or recommendations are appreciated.

  • 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Oil Pressure?

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. It has 146,000 miles on it. It seems to run fine but I troubled because when I'm in idle the oil light icon comes on and flashes. It doesn't have a gage for oil pressure on the dash. I checked the oil and it is full and clean. I just got the car so I'm not sure if the filter had been changed. I have heard before this can happen when the filter is dirty. Is this true and what other things should I be looking at to try and determine what is going on?

  • Are "Control Games" healthy for a relationship that needs "spiced up"?

My wife of over 20 years playing little "control games" with me over the last few months saying it helps spice things up. It started out with simple little things like "take my shoes & socks off", "get me something drink" after snapping her fingers, asking me to find the remote and hand it to her when it is sitting right next to her, etc.

Now she is talking like my " training" needs to be taken to another level to keep things exciting. We have been slowly moving into me being in chastity and her as the only "key holder". I admit that when she lets me release it is very powerful and fulfilling. But Im still anxious about her holding the only key with me not having any access to it. And now she wants to try "human dog training". She says I will love it as much as she will and just the idea of me wearing a collar with a tag that says I belong to her excites her.

Any suggestions, recommendations, ideas, or comments are welcomed

  • Can a chastity device actually spice things up?

My wife has been trying to introduce the idea of putting me in a chastity device to spice things up. She says we can put the key on the key rack if that would make me more comfortable but that she wants to eventually be the only "keyholder".

I'm not too sure about any of this. On one hand spicing things up would be ok but really not sure how putting me chastity is spicing it up. And then the whole keyholder thing. Really not understanding that whole part.

Any suggestions, recommendations, or ideas on the subject?

  • What is meant by the term "Man Milked"?

I heard my wife's friend tell her that if she would "man milk" me, I would know who the boss is real quickly.

I took it that this is some kind of teasing and deny type thing but really not sure.

    Any ideas?

  • Windshield Wipers Won't Work?

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up truck. The other day, I noticed that the wipers were moving slowly on the way down. This only happened twice and they resumed working correctly. Then a couple days later they didn't work at all. I drove on to work and within a few minutes they started working. Now today, I have drove it 3 times already and they still won't work. Is there a simple fix or something I can check? Or am I going to need to go have a professional look at this?

  • Why is my Adobe Flash not working correctly?

I have Internet Explorer 9 and have all my updates pop up automatically in my system tools. I've had IE 9 for quite a while and the other day when my update popped up to udate my Flash, I followed through.

It said everything was installed corrrectly. However, ever since then, there are some pages that come up blank and reccommend that I install the lastest version of Flash.

I have went through the troubleshooting process and tried their suggestions on how to fix this, but nothing seems to be working.

Is there a setting or something I could be missing?

Any suggestions or reccomendations would be appreciated.

  • Why does my car alarm go off by itself?

I have a 2007 G6 and the other day after I shut the car off the alarm started going off. I disconnected the horn fuse and then the battery to stop it. The next day I reconnected the horn fuse with no problem. I then reconnected the battery. All was good until I opened the door and the horn started beeping but the lights didn't start going on and off like it would normally.

I disconnected the battery to stop it and then tried replacing the battery in my remote thinking maybe it had something to with that. But no luck there. After reconnecting the car battery I had the same issue.

    What is going? Any suggestions?

  • Butt in or Stay out of my daughters life.?

My oldest daughter, 20 years old, goes to school, works part time, and makes decent grades. Sounds good, right? Well, that part is and I am proud of that. However, and maybe it's just me not wanting to let her totally go, I don't know. But she has this friend that is 2 years younger than her, this "friend" is a girl and she is very controlling of my daughter and it makes me sick. She has to know where she is at all times, know what she is doing, who she talks to, what they talk about, etc. She invites herself to family functions always making excuses as to why she is there. She calls my daughter constantly when she is at work, school, or on the occassion that she may take my wife or her grandmother to the doctor. I am not kidding, I have phone records that show it.

Everyone in the family and some of her former friends sees how this "friend" manipulates and controls her but my daughter acts oblivious to it. The bad thing is that most of these people, including me, really resent the friend but nobody really says too much because of their love for my daughter. Also, because she is 20 years old and chooses to let herself be treated this way. Even when you can catch her by herself, which isn't often, the "friend" is texting or calling her.

I know this may sound bad, but if this friend was a boyfriend, I could understand it better. That doesn't mean I would like it, it just means I could understand it. I don't think my daughter is gay and personally hope she is not. But even if she is, I just don't know if I should say what I am feeling or keep it to myself.

As it is now, I keep it to myself and tolerate her "friend" because I love my daughter and don't want to be controlling or pick her friends but it is honestly killing me inside watching how she is treated by this "friend".

What do you think? Butt in or Stay out?

  • Suggestions on how to help my daughter with a very controlling friend.?

My oldest daughter is 19 years old, lives at home and goes to college. We have always been very proud of her accomplishments and how she has always carried herself.

When she was 16 she met up with a 14 year old girl that is very insecure in everything she does. Over the course of about 3 years this girl has become more and more controlling of everything our daughter does.

We noticed the controlling issues early on and tried to positively inform our daughter of what we were seeing as we wanted her to make her own decisions about their friendship. She would always listen and even reacted to the sitiuation a few times telling her friend that she really wasn't acting like a friend and maybe they need some time apart. Her friend would always back off for awhile but come back more controlling than before.

We thought when our daughter graduated from high school and moved on to college that this tie would break. At least we were hopeful for that but it didn't happen. Her friend actually had her mother take her to the doctor because she was so sick to her stomach that she didn't know what our daughter was doing while she was at high school. Again, we were hopeful that her family would get her some help on her insecurities but this didn't happen either.

Last week, our daughter informed her friend that she was busy doing some family things and would catch up with her later. Her friend came over to check up on her about half an hour later all upset accussing her of lying to her because she was on the computer doing some homework. It was so sad and terribly frustrating to see our daughter sit and defend herself for something so trivial. She did make her friend go home but within a couple hours, this girl was texting our son asking what our daughter was doing now.

Her mother is very frustrated and I am at the end of my rope. If this was a boyfriend, I would have already interferred but this is just a "friend" and I just don't know what else I can do, if anything.

FYI, her mother and I realize that our daughter is allowing this behavior and like I have mentioned earlier, we have discussed this many times with her.

Any suggestions on how we can tactfully and respectfully handle this would be much appreciated.

  • Computer problem or a anti virius problem?

I just got a new computer. It's a medium grade HP desktop and went with the recommended internet security protection. It is Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.

When I click on a link in my email or even when I click on a link from yahoo sports I can't get to that site. I can also get to pogo games but when I click to go to a specific game I can't get there. I see that pogo is a trusted site on my kaspersky but I just can't figure out what is going on.

Do I have a computer problem or do I need to enable or disable something to allow me to navigate a little more freely?

  • FFL commissioner question.?

I am the commissioner of a fantasy football league. There are 10 teams in the league. We have had our draft and everything has been entered. Everything was ready to go when the season starts. Last night I had one the the team owners inform me he was not going to be able to play and has quit the league. I have a person to replace him but I am unsure how and if I can drop the original owner and put the new owner in the league. The new owner has agreed to take over the team the original owner drafted. Can this be done? If it can, how do I go about doing this?

  • What is the difference between a grand pri, grand pri SE, and a grand pri GT?

My daughter is looking for grand pri. She likes the grand pri but what we have looked at so far we are seeing 3 different kinds. Are the differences in the motor size? We seen a fin on the trunk of a GT but later seen one on just a regular grand pri. Does anyone know the difference between these three?

This has been happening more frequently over the last couple of days. I have swept the system with my webroot spy sweeper every time I start back up. I have it set up to sweep everyday but it won't because it appears it the whole system locks up. Any ideas of things I could check before I call the geek squad?

  • Could my breaker be going bad? I have not added anything to the circuit but it has been happening alot lately?

It is a 30 amp breaker in a 100 amp service. It has a few different things hooked up to it but nothing that is overbearing.

Nothing has been added or changed. But over the last month, breaker has kicked out probably 8 to 10 times. Sometimes only a lamp and tv will be running. This is why I don't think it is being overloaded. Is it poosible the breaker could be going bad? What should I check first?
