Why is Carol Ann Duffy supported by the literary establishment?
Her poems range from hilarious to merely bowel wrenching, they are devoid of all one would seek in poetry, by a long chalk Eminem is better, and yet she is lionised. Is ti the old LGBT and feminist Mafia at work? I would not want my kids studying her in preference to, say, Eliot, or Lennon and McCartney.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors8 years agoDo any car hire companies in the UK allow customers with points on the licence?
I have a real problem. In 2oo8, I was banned for four speeding tickets in three years, I now live outside the UK, but need to come back every so often to manage my affairs. I need a car, but most hire companies have insurance problems for people like me. I offer to arrange my own insurance, but they won't allow it. Any suggestions?

12 AnswersCurrent Events9 years agoDeep Vein Thrombosis?
I have been diagnosed with a DVT in my right calf. The doctors have given me anticoagulant injections and put me on a long term course of Warfarin, but they are vague about how long this treatment will last. Moreover, I am something of a sportsman, and the vague doctor said, No, no Sport. How much should I change my lifestyle in the light of this development and how long will it take to make a full recovery. I am nearly sixty, on antihypertensives, and non-smoker, non-drinker, and relatively fit.
Any suggestions? I know most of what I need to know about causes, etc. and dangers, so don't worry about this.
Cheers.

American women came in second on the ugly table. What do you think? Is this accurate, inaccurate, rude or merely the inevitable result of forty years of feminist propaganda?

Those of us who have this irritating condition, and we include Bill Clinton, Lady Di, Maria Carey and Alex Ferguson, know what a drag it is. I have recently heard of it being successfully treated with the above medication, a non-absorbed antibiotic used for Travellers' Diarrhoea and E-coli. Does anyone have any details on this. The drug is available where I live but requires a dermatologist's prescription. I have used Oxytet, adn various topical treatments with limited success.

I treat it with a topical ointment, Rozex, and tetracycline, but neither of these seem effective.
