How long to get a tan by walking in the sunshine?
I have an upcoming event that I need to not look like a corpse for lol. I don't want to go to a tanning salon, lay and bake in the sun, or put any fake tanning stuff on. I'm wondering how long it would take to get a little color by just walking around in the sunshine? I'm not looking for a dark tan, I just want to take the edge off my paleness. I've been somewhat of a shut in for awhile.
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoCan god really be blameless?
I've heard this so many times, and I still don't understand the logic behind it. Whenever something bad happens, it's our fault. It's our fault we brought sin into the world. How is god blameless in this? He created us. We, and everything else that exists in our universe, are gods responsibility. That responsibility cannot be pawned off on us just because things went awry.
Think of it this way: Say scientists created a robot capable of thinking freely for itself and making its own decisions. Free will, in other words. One day it decides that it wants to go on a killing spree, and it proceeds to do so. Who would be to blame here? Would you put the blame on the robot because it freely chose to commit this act? If so, why? Why wouldn't you blame the scientists? They created it, they're the ones who gave it free will, when they could have easily programmed any number of limits.
Please note: I don't want to hear "Well are parents responsible for what their kids do when they're adults?" or anything similar. We procreate, but we do not create. Our children are not brand new creations, they're merely the next generation of our species. God is the scientist, all responsibility falls on him.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy faith over deeds?
Why does the Christian god value faith so much and view deeds without faith "as filthy rags"? If I, as an Atheist, devoted my life to humanitarian works, I would be sent to hell because I don't believe. But a Christian who believes and does only a few good works would go to heaven. How does this seem just to you?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan anyone tell me the name of a Twilight Zone episode?
I'm wondering if anyone knows the name of the Twilight Zone episode where there's a kid who turns people into stuff? The only thing I remember about it is he turns somebody into a "jack in the box".
1 AnswerDrama1 decade agoHow to uninstall a program that keeps freezing when I try uninstalling it?
For some reason today, my Yahoo! Messenger won't open. I've restarted my comp a few times, didn't make a difference. So I decided to uninstall YM and reinstall it. When I try uninstalling it, it freezes and won't respond. Is there a way to uninstall it without this happening?
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhy is Youtube loading slow for me lately?
I have never had a problem with YouTube before. Usually videos will load faster than they play. But for some reason they have been loading extremely slow for the last few days. I'm talking like 8 minutes for a 3 minute video. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I'm not having speed issues with any other website.
4 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoWhere to see the unfiltered night sky?
I've always wanted to be able to gaze up on a cloudless night and see exactly what early humans saw, the unfiltered night sky. Free from any light pollution. Unfortunately, I don't live in an accommodating area. I can see a lot of stars where I'm from, but nowhere close to what I've seen in photos taken in very remote places. I'm wondering if there are any places in the US where I could go to escape light pollution?
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoI beat the Pokemon League in Emerald... is my file SUPPOSED to be deleted?
Been playing Pokemon Emerald for almost two weeks, and I managed to defeat the Pokemon League. I've been using a rom, but I haven't had any problems with glitches or lost info or anything. Haven't used cheats. But after they showed the final animation of the main character and May riding their bikes, and it said "The End", a message popped up saying the file was deleted! It's never done that in previous Pokemon games... is it supposed to do that in Emerald or did my file somehow mess up?
3 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhat is SO bad about Obama?
I'm asking in the R&S section because I'm interested in what Christians think on this issue. I've browsed around a lot of Christian forums and noticed a lot of hatred and seemingly unfounded speculation about the President Elect. A lot of you seem to believe that he's going to outlaw Christianity and/or religion as a whole, and start a nazi-like campaign against you. I'd really love to know where you come up with these wild accusations. A lot of you believe he is the anti-Christ, which is absurd, because there have been countless world leaders throughout time who have been accused of the same thing. I've noticed that some of Obama's personal facts, as well as scripture, have been twisted to make him fit the bill. I don't want to hear about how evil he is just because he supports abortion, lest I remind you that your golden boy, George Bush, had 8 years and abortion is still with us. So anyway, I'd like to know where you're getting some of these things and what you personally think will be bad about his term.
33 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf gays got married, what would happen?
I've never heard a halfway decent reason to oppose letting it happen. I'm asking in the religion section, because it's mainly Christians who are fighting it tooth and nail.
PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND: I don't want scripture quotes in your answer, and I don't want to hear about how gay sex makes your god cry. I want a VALID SECULAR CONSEQUENCE that would arise from allowing homosexuals to marry. And I would appreciate some detail. Don't give me, "It'll destroy the American family", or anything like that. If you want to say something like that, go into detail explaining how/why. I also don't want to hear "It'll turn children gay", that's just propaganda cooked up by fundamentalists.
Looking forward to your answers.
