  • As a customer, how do I find the rating of a seller I want to buy things from on Amazon?

I can't seem to find the rating of sellers anymore. I thought it was supposed to be next to their names? I want to get a computer, and I really need to know how good the seller is with their products and customer service.

That's really important information that should be where anyone can see it.

  • Is there a free online therapy site for social phobias?

I want to get help, but I'm not sure where to start or what to do... I've seriously avoided being around people, and it's really affected my relationships. I'm specifically seeking something online. I feel like if I have to talk to a therapist face to face, I'll have a panic attack.

  • Do ghosts disprove Christianity?

I've been thinking about a couple of "encounter" my friends brought up recently and thought about what that means.

If ghosts exist, then what about god and judgement, heaven and hell. If people are supposed to go somewhere right after they die then how can ghosts even exist. Shouldn't dead spirits be in heaven or hell?

  • Do anyone else's parents do this?

I feel like my parents are addicted to being "right".

Whenever I need advice, they don't have anything to say before I attempt whatever I'm going to do. It's after I've failed or messed up that they have a million things to say that could have helped me before I even started.

It's like they're only interested in helping, if it involves a situation where they can point out what I did wrong, go on and on about it, and then go on and on about how they would have done x,y,z.

Does anyone else have an experience like this, or are mine just that special...? :(

  • Do pro-life christians not care about the Constitution?

I think they're basing their argument on ideology and not being empathetic to the reality of people that need abortions.

That is wrong and against constitution. If you think your religion implies that people should not be able to have abortions, then don't get an abortion. The minute you force other people to follow your beliefs, that is oppression.

Freedom from religion is promised in the constitution, so they should not oppress others by forcing them to follow their beliefs.

  • Do bosses usually use personal info to manipulate their employees?

I don't work at this place anymore, but this one boss I had was like this.

Let's say I told him I was trying to get a new phone, because I thought someone else's at work was cool. Literally, the next week my hours at work were slashed in half. I went to go talk to him and he said that when he thought someone needed to work harder on something he would just cut hours and wait for them to come to him. He claimed that this method worked better, because when people came to him they were ready to change their work habits.

Needless to say, I was pissed. I was also wondering if this is a common tactic among bosses? Do bosses use personal info to manipulate their workers?

I didn't even think something as stupid as wanting a new cellphone would be a liability... I have a really hard time opening up to management about anything personal after this asshole.

  • How do people deal with panic attacks?

Mine are irregular, and it that makes them hard to deal with because I don't always know what will set me off. Are there any methods that help people deal while they're having one?

When mine come I feel like I'm super scared that I'm going to die if I don't remove myself from the situation that's making me stressed out.

I'm not sure why, because every time I've had a panic attack it's during the most boring things. Ex. going to a beta club meeting, waiting to meetup with someone I wanted to network with, and once right before I was about to walk out the door to work.

I know exactly how ridiculous it is to have those feeling at the time they happen, but I haven't managed to stop them from getting so strong that I have to get away from whatever's causing them.

  • Why do I remember embarrassing things when I try to relax?

I can't stand this. I'm sitting here, just surfing the net trying to just zone out on something fun and stupid, and my brain pushes this super embarrassing memory to the front.

This memory comes up so fast and so strong that I literally clenched my fist and said, "I hate everyone!" out loud.

I don't get this! It isn't the first time it's happened, but why oh why does my brain do this when I try to relax. It's like it's trying to keep me stressed....and I just want to relax and do stupid stuff on the internet until I'm tired enough to go to sleep. :(

  • Why do people try to discourage me?

I swear no matter what I do, my family is almost always gonna have something negative to say about it. My father is actually one of the most negative influences in my life.

He is the first to say I can't do something, or I don't know what I'm doing. The thing is instead of actually explaining what he means by that and being helpful by giving me some good options, he just scoffs and walks away.

I can't stand it. He likes to go on and on about how he's such a good person, and how much he does this or that for his family, and blah blah blah. He'll say that crap to strangers and then when we are home, he's the number one anti-cheerleader in my life.

  • Guys, why do you get upset when a girl won't "give you a chance"?

If she's not interested when you first meet, why do some you keep trying and get upset when her answer doesn't change?

  • Why can't I argue with my boss?

I feel like I am physically unable to argue with my boss. When there's a misunderstanding or something goes wrong that I know is not wholly my fault, it is so hard for me to argue my point.

My face heats up, my heart starts pounding, and I feel like I can't say anything because part of my mind is convinced that it will start a real fight.

I don't know how to work on this. I'm pretty sure she won't flat out punch me for thinking I "lost" something I left on her desk and she can't find later, but the feeling that it might happen is so strong.

I wasn't like this at my last job. I was good at standing my ground. This one is different and I haven't figured out why...

  • Is there a way to move ahead without becoming the boss' friend?

For anyone that's ever moved ahead in their career, while working under someone. Is there any way to move ahead without becoming the boss' friend? I've seen some people play like they are soooo close to the boss, but it's mainly to get raises, promotions, or time off when they want it.

I've always wondered if that's really what helps the most when it comes to moving ahead. I'm the type that would rather do my job right, than socialize alot...but it doesn't seem to put me any farther ahead when people who are super friendly with the boss get more benefits with seemingly less effort.

  • How can I talk to my boss about how they act towards my customers?

I have an interesting situation. I'm not sure if it's common, but if it is let me know. I'm wondering if what my boss does is common...

Anyways, I work for a small company and my boss is basically running the whole thing.

I've recently noticed that my boss is running off all of the customers that prefer me to work with them.

When I first started working, there were many customers that were used to my boss and would not talk to me, or let me help them. Now there are some that prefer me, and I think my boss is running them off. My boss has gotten into arguments with them and just been really rude.

One woman was told she was wrong, in a pretty rude way. Another customer was told by my boss that the only reason that customer was working with me is because my boss felt the customer was too much to deal with, because she was really specific. Another customer she never kept up contact with, and the jobs from them just died.

I didn't really notice at first, because 98% of the customers that come in are looking for my boss to help them. When I thought about it, I realized what was going on and I'm kinda pissed. I don't think it's right for her to treat people like that just because they prefer my services. The customers pay up whether I work directly with them or she does.

How can I talk to her about this, or should I even try? I'm currently looking for another job, but that doesn't mean I want to suffer through the last days of the current one I'm at. What should I do?

  • Why do some christains use church lingo when they talk to atheists?

I understand that christians believe in god, but atheists don't...

God isn't as important to atheists as it is to christians so why do some christians talk about god like the atheist feels the same way about god that they do, and has been around a church?

For example, people that aren't familiar with church lingo won't always understand when you say that you have a testimony, have been liberated, or only think of him as the most high. It's just confusing.

So why do some christains talk to atheists like they would talk to another christian?

  • Is there a way to nicely disagree with a boss?

I feel like my boss is being too unfair when they complain about my work progress.

I work for a designer, as a designer and my boss likes to bring up how long it takes me to finish a design. One example is that she asked me to design a logo and then will say she could have done it in seconds when it took me an hour or so.

When it takes me that long, it's usually because they want to check my design every 2 minutes and give me suggestions on what I should change and how something should be, or they will just say they 'don't like it and ask me to fix it without explaining what's wrong or what to fix...

I can't get anything done quickly with that much interference. It's like they don't understand that I have a different work flow and style, and expect me to be just like them. There are day when they do take all day to finish up 2-3 designs, but that's never stopped them from complaining that I take too long.

I'm trying to figure out how to confront my boss on this without seeming rude or too out of line. I know that it's their job to manage progress, but it's the management that's slowing it down...

  • What can I say to leave my job on good terms?

I need to quit the job I have, and I will once I have another one. The thing is, I'm not sure what I should say to quit on good terms. My boss is a highly emotional person and the job I'm working is the first job I was able to get in my career after college. I don't want to blow this opportunity to have a good impression.

  • Why does my boss freak out on me when I do exactly what they say?

    Happy post 4th of July!

Anywhooo...my boss just freaked out on me. I technically don't have to come to work today, since I have the day off. The thing is, it's pay day. My boss wanted me to call before I came by so they could have my money ready.

I called early this morning because I had to run errands early and I got told off. My boss was saying that they didn't have it ready, that they knew they told me to call before I came by to pick it up, that they weren't anywhere near the front of the building to let me in. She's almost yelling all of this on the phone.

I just calmly said I was calling to ask when I could come by, and that they should call me when the money would be ready.

This isn't the only case, I'm just curious as to why my boss freaks out when I'm just doing exactly what they told me to do?

  • How can I stop myself from automatically doing what my mom says?

It annoys me that I listen and follow through with her advice, even when I know she has NO IDEA what she's talking about.

One example would be giving me career advice when the jobs we have are nothing alike. I have stopped telling her everything that I do because of this reaction. She always goes the the negative first, and is very quick to point out any shortcomings.

I just can't stand it, and what I can't stand more is that I actually go along with her bad ideas and buy into the emotional manipulation to the point I will attempt to do what she says.

How do I stop this? It's making me miserable and talking to her just makes her defensive and then she gets more worked up, and looks for even more things to point out and complain about.

  • Why do my bosses take advantage of any personal info they know about me?

I feel that if I share any personal information with my bosses, they find some way to use it against me.

One boss I mentioned that I was saving up for a new phone off-hand. This boss cut my hours down to half of what I usually got the next week. When I asked about why my hours were cut, he said that was what he did to ensure people would improve their performance. He wouldn't tell you what you needed to change, he wanted employees to come to him.

Another boss I was talking to knew I had to take my car to the shop and asked that I be there right when they opened so that we could drive out of town early. I was not planning to go there right when they opened. Long story short, I showed up very early at that shop and when I called her, she sounded like she just woke up.

I don't understand what to do or say. I don't want my bosses to know anything about me at this point. Things I didn't even think could be an issue, are becoming issues because they'll find a way to use my personal life against me.
