My passions are hunting and fishing. Having spent 20 years in the Navy provided me with the opportunity to hunt in a number of different states, and to fish in a lot of different parts of the world. For the past 10+ years I have been a hunter safety instructor in northern Wi.   • Why does Easter "float" around on the calendar?

    Considering that the crucifixion (good friday), and resurrection (easter sunday), of Jesus are the events that define the Christian religion, why are they not fixed dates? The leaders of the early church had no problem claiming a specific date for his birth, why no specific date for his death and resurrection?

  • Where was Jesus last night?

    Last night I had a life changing experience that I need to write about to let it go. Sorry if it gets a bit lengthy, but please read it all. About a block from where I work is a restaurant owned by a very faithful Christian couple. They are known for telling everyone that the rest. was their "gift from the lord" that would provide them with a decent living for their family. Last night the restaurant, and their upstairs home caught fire. With the nearest fire dept. being volunteer, and 5 min away, paramedics close to 10 min away, someone came to the store I work at asking for anyone with fire/first-aid experience. I had both in the Navy and got there just as the first firetruck pulled up. The young lady was just coming out of the burning building and was immediately taken into the care of one of the first firefighters out of the truck. When she screamed "MY BABY, PLEASE HELP MY BABY!" I went as cold as the icy rain snow mix that was coming down.

  • Goose migration formations?

    If you've watched nature shows on migrating geese, you know that they fly in a V formation, and trade off in the front of the V because it is more efficient for the entire flock. Can anyone tell me why one leg of the V is longer than the other? 10 pts to the first correct answer.
