  • Hey! What's going on around here?

    I don't have enough 'points' to ask a question. (Level 7 - Over 26,000 points. Over 1,500 best.) ?

And I found that the 'new' fromat is once again too rigid to be able to be with the 'group'. Took a while to link to Performing Arts, only through a previous question on my history list.

Limits the interactions and replies. Too much like a tax form. And reminds me of what was tried last year or so. Stupid.

I think I will find another morning routine.

Sorry, I will miss you guys.

I will hope there are some 'answers' from the rest of you, I will try and get back to read them after getting use to the 'new' process.

Didn't realize I had such a 'following' of groupies. Too much looking like a social media website than a more serious lesson planner.

I have learned several things as well from the rest of you, by the way.

    Thank you.

  • Having trouble with audio interface software programs. 50/50 chance of working.?

Had been shopping around for some time before settling on an audio interface to transfer cassette tapes to CD's through my personal desk top computer. Read further about how much trouble they are as one only have possible success if your audio sound cards and operating system are compatible to the software provided with these interface components.

Basically, I have no need of further tailoring of the music being recorded as added features of mixers, effects, drum patterns, etc. I just want a through-the-system recognition of the signal path, going directly into the program set up to burn a copy onto a CD.

A simple one-to-one operation without having to bother with any further adjustments to the original recording. That's all. Nothing overkilled or extensive, or expensive.

What I do have now, is the Yamaha Audiogram 3. Great input (RCA phono) and output hardware that is direct and was simple enough to set up and connect. Have perfect signal which created a (1/4" phone) stereo guitar output to the speakers with no program to engage (barefoot). But when it came to recognize the audio signal and software program's 'virtual studio', it wouldn't complete the steps needed to recognize there was any input from an audio source or just stopped functioning.

So, I've been searching for compatible software that will (learned that others might work with the same interface) work with the hardware and PC, and become operational.

What I have been working with is a Gateway LX series that's a little over a year old. I guess what I am saying as well, is that I hope I don't have to change the sound card in the process but work with what's already there.

Is there such a simple and inexpensive (no more than $100.00 at best) software (or maybe another interface system) program that would work with what I now have?

It has worn me out, and was wondering if anyone reading this has had the same experience.
