  • Question about child support, would suing be beneficial?

My ex is dragging his feet, changing jobs every few months and has moved to different states in the past to avoid paying child support. The child support order is in California, where he now resides, and the Department of Child Support Services has had this case open on him for over 10 years. They (DCCS) are constantly having to run around after him obtaining new employer and new address information on him, and now his back child support owed to me is almost $30,000.

He has said in the past that if he can just hold out until my son is 18, he will no longer have to pay... in other words, he has a 20 year plan to avoid paying child support. I know that once the statute of limitations is past, he will no longer owe the child support, and will succeed in not paying nearly all of it. My son is now 16.

I am wondering, would it be a worthwhile endeavor to sue for the money? My son could really use the help with college tuition, as I am worried about him starting his adult life with years of college debt ahead of him. This money would help, but would it even pan out? I know in small claims, often money ordered paid by a judge often go unpaid anyway, so would this be the same?

    Thank you for any information.

  • Internet explorer question?

My internet explorer does not work. I can access the internet with my firefox, but some applications, such as Adobe Reader, need Internet explorer to open files. Is there any way to uninstall then reinstall IE? I can't find it on the uninstall list in my control panel, so I'm hoping there is some other way to address this problem. I am not very computer literate. Thank you in advance.

  • What can I use as a ground covering for my dog's tie-out area?

My dog is on a tie-out when I'm at work, since I don't have a fence. There was grass there, but she's torn most of it out, which leaves dirt, and in wet months, mud. She is a border collie/golden retriever mix.

I want something that can be in her area that will be comfortable for her, at least somewhat attractive, and she can't destroy. Preferably also something easy to keep clean and inexpensive as well.

What would work best for this? Any help would be appreciated!

  • My border collie/golden retriever cross has skin problems...?

My dog is going on three years old, and has always had dry, flaky skin. It seems to be getting worse as she gets older. I give her an expensive dog food formulated to help the skin and coat, an omega fatty acid oil supplement recommended by her vet, I brush her daily and bathe her with a gentle oatmeal shampoo once a month (recommended by a groomer). She has began chewing on herself mostly in the back legs and back area, to the point of creating sores, in the past month. I've been using a hot spot treatment with Bittran, but she still chews. I am concerned about the chance of infection, and feel bad for her since she must be miserable being so itchy. I use Frontline monthly on her, and she doesn't have fleas. Is there anything else I can do to help her?

  • Are there any words in the English language that have no vowels in them?

My second grader's teacher posed a challenge to the class to see if they could find even one word in the English language that is spelled with no vowels. It of course has to be a real word, and not an abbreviation or acronym. Thank you so much for any help! :)

  • Where can I find an Iwo Jima figurine?

I would like to get a bronze or marble replica of the Iwo Jima flag raising for my boyfriend on his birthday, but I have not been able to find anything in a price range I can afford. I do not want a cheap-looking one, I'd like a really nice one. I cannot afford much, unless I can do payments, but it would be very special to him, so I came here for help. Thank you! :)

  • My 7 year old wants to be a vegetarian, I need some good recipes for tofu please!?

The rest of my family eats chicken/poultry and fish, and I'd like some easy tofu ideas that i could cook and serve at dinner for my 7 year old that won't add too much extra work but are kid-friendly. He loves firm tofu when I fry it in olive oil and garlic with mushrooms, but that's bound to get boring after a while. I also frequently add tofu to soup (we eat a lot of homemade soup in the cold months), and I find vegetarian soups easy to make and delicious. But I need something to give him more variety, and since I am not vegetarian, I don't know what else I can do with tofu! Any recipes/suggestions are much appreciated! :)

  • How do I train my 5 month old puppy to stop fear biting?

My puppy is 5 months old and has been with my family for 3 months. She is great with my kids, who are as young as 2, but takes weeks to warm up to other people, and is fearful and bites if they try to touch her. I am concerned about this because I take her with me when I am visiting friends, but she will try to bite them even in their house. Getting rid of her will only be a very last resort, as she is a part of our family already. How do I stop this behavior before it's too late?
