If a debtor hires a bankruptcy attorney but doesn't pay then to start the process, when can the lenders resume collection efforts?
The attorney says the customer has retained her but has not yet returned to start the process. How long does this protect the debtor from collections if they do not go forward with the process?
4 AnswersCredit5 years agoWhy would a cat eat her tail?
My friend has adopted 3 half grown kittens. Two of them appear to be healthy. The female looks healthy except for her tail is chewed up at the end and is only a third the length of her brothers. My friend says she has been eating her tail at about a half inch a week. She did not have any visable fleas or flea dirt.
They are all fat and have lustrous coats. I fear that if this is a compulsive disorder she will not stop mutilating herself when the tail is gone. He is unwilling to let the cats indoors. I am allergic so it isn't an option for me either. I just feel bad for the kitten.

2 AnswersUnited States1 decade agorenting a room to a friend has turned into a nightmare!?
I own a home and rent a room out for $75 a week to a man. He has a 15 yr old daughter that he invited without asking me to stay for 7 weeks this summer.
I was willing to deal with this to be kind but wasn't happy. We never discussed what would be expected or that he should have to pay for the second room. He pd an extra $25 for 3 weeks and an extra $5 for 3 weeks. During this time his girlfriends daughter also has been staying most days
and nights so Iv'e had 2 teens living here for an average of $15 extra per week. They trash my house, leave thier dishes for me to clean, have lost an expensive walking horse bridle, broke the washer trying to wash huge blankets that dont fit and have left leather saddles out in the rain just to name a few. After 6 weeks of "talking to them" about it I blew a cork. Lost my temper and told his kid to keep her f____g hands off of my belongings. Now mind you this isnt language she and him have not heard from me before but when we are joking and laughing he never said a word about it. She whined to her dad that I cussed her. Now he tells me I do not have the right to talk to his daughter that way. In my opinion.. His kids are in my home uninvited and I will be damned if they tell me how to act, what to say or how to say it in my own home! He tells me he has the right to bring who he wants there to live becasue he pays rent. I explained he pays rent for one person, and one room not a family and that if he doesnt like how I act he has the right to take them somewhere else. I did say I shouldnt have lost my temper but his kids are spoiled brats and I have no rights of control but it is only my belongings being destroyed. So I feel my anger is justified. I dont have kids. Never had kids. Dont want kids! Always made that clear. She is leaving tomorrow and he is moving soon but I feel the need to make him understand that he has crossed a line and taken advantage of our friendship.

2 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoAre local channels supposed to be free?
I remember some years back when the local channels were provided free of charge by law if the customer lived in a remote area and was unable to get the channels with a house antenna. Is this still the case? Dish Network is telling me no.
2 AnswersTiVO & DVRs1 decade agoHow much trouble am I in for taking a sledge to x bf's motorhome left in my yard?
I came home wednesday and found my boyfriends note on the bed that he had left me for another woman. This is the second time he did this. The 1st time I warned him that I would destroy anything he left on my property next time. So when he didnt take his motorhome with him I was surprised. Anyway when I found the note I went balistic and busted out all the windows, lights and dash gauges. Then called a tow company and had it towed as an abandoned vehicle. Now he claimes I will be charged with a felony? This all happened in Tennessee.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoHow do I find out if there is a lean on a mobile home?
The bank is selling 5 acres and a doublewide mobile home as a forclosure real cheap. The catch is, the land comes with a clear title and no back taxes. The bank is claiming to know nothing about the home, and is offering no title to it. I'd like to make a bid on it but not if the home can be repossessed afterwards. The only identifing numbers we could find was a silver plate with a evidence number on it/ Will this number help? The previous owners have abandended the property after leaving pets inside to ruin the interior. The bank wont give out thier name or info.
