Ok I have a computer with 2 harddrives working. One is used for storage one for surfing. Well about two weeks ago I caught the famous XP Security 2012 virus. Now I admit I was stupid and decided to cut off the computer asap and then use my other O/S's Malewarebytes to remove the Virus. I thought I was beig slick and trying to get rid of the virus before it completly downloaded in my infected harddrive. Usually I let the virus completly download then use the other O/s to clean it out. This time I thought I was being smart and tried to just stop the virus form downloading by turning off the computer before the virus completly loaded in it (stupid now I know)

Well when I reloaded my infected o/s, I could not open a file. Nothing would open except maybe Nero 7 to play one or two movies. nothing else would open and have a .ru error by each file. System restore will not open, this is even going on in safe mode. Now Im a guy who doesnt mind wiping and nuking my harddrive and reinstalling O/S's . I got a good copy of XP and well if it has to be dont it just has to be done . Is there any way to repair the damage . When I run anti virus programs form the other o/s to scan my infected harddrive, it says no viruses present but I still cant load up anything .

I could use help but If I got to wipe then so be it . Is there any way to repair my registery or should I just wipe

I have a 8 Volvo. Its a great car and I'm about to replace it soon. Anyway, I went to work one day through some thick fog and left the lights on all day. the car battery died. Nothing worked the electronics radio or power locks or nothing . Ok no big deal I had it jumped.. Anyway it worked till I got home. I got up the next morning and the car would not start.The lights and radio came on but the engine would not turn . I got my friend to jump it and this time it would not turn. I cleaned the battery off and still it would not turn So we take the battery to AutoZone and have it charged. They said the battery was still good.Take it back home. Cleaned the acid off and wiped the nasty stuff off of it . put it back in the car .For about 3 seconds the engine sounded like it wanted to turn but then I heard clicking noise didn't start..

So now I'm confused. My friend said it is probably the starter. I'm thinking my battery cant hold a charge since its over 3 years old. Now this is the second time I killed my battery. The first time was leaving the light on for over a hour as well but only for a hour. This second problem I left a dead battery on all day. SO that might be a factor as well.

I have never had starter problems till I let the battery die two days ago as well . I could use some help I would rather spend 100 dollars on a battery than 275 on a starter

My question is this . do I have a dead starter or dead battery that just cant hold a charge.

I have a idea on how to compare regular quad core and core 2 duo motherboards and all, but I'm wondering whats the differance between these two and can a 1156 socket chip fit in a motherboard designed for a 1366?

Im going to school and decided to get my second degree in computers.. Well I want to do networking and know I dont need a language class for that. but I want to know computer languages for fun.. So I was wondering which class is a good starting class to learn computer languager.. Yes eventually I want to do C,C+, C++, Oracle and all that other good stuff. but whats a good basic computer language class ?

Ok I am 1 year into this computer world and loving it. I was able to work with a barebones and learn how to get decent RAM for my computers motherboard. Now I got lucky in selecting a nice old eve 9500 graphic card. My roomate said so because he wanted me to wait for him so he can show me how to search for video cards..

Im going to get my new computer soon, but I would like to know , not if this si a good graphic card, but what the specs mean and whats most important to look for in a video card .

IM just getting into the world of computers and hardware. I want to change chips out of my computer form a core 2 duo to a core 2 quad chip. I know that chip will work on that motherboard I have.

But before I start changing processors, I want to practice on my old P4 computer.. It is a 1.5 G P4 ... I want practice changing chips out and want to try putting a p4 3.0 GhZ in the 1.5GHz slot.. Will it work ?

I was jsut wondering since it haas usb's ..RAM. operating system .. and a harddrive with a cd rom and ability to use a keyboard in it, is the X box 360 a computer in desguise?

I ahve a few devices in my usb that are working perfectly after i install the software.. my webcam, i68, playstation to usb controller, and my head set work perfectly. I tried to plug my digital camera in it and it read unknown device. the software is definatly installed in the computer. I went device manager. uninstalled the drive reinstalled the drive and still wont read the device and a couple of my flash drives. the 360 reads them perfectly .. Do I need to install some special usb softwae for my usb to read these devices?

Ok I know its a silly question, but Im about to get a terrabyte harddrive. I want it as my back-up garddrive. My 500 gig is still holding the fort down pertty well. Ill admit I'm too lazy to find and reinstall all the codec, and other things form my 500 gig to the terrabyte. If I have to Ill reinstall everything including the OS.. But IM wondering if I can just drag copy my harddrive information to another at once like how you move files from one computer to another ? Or will I have to drag each file over one at a time?

Ok I am currently studying right now for the A+ and Network+ certifications. I have a degree in Economics, but currently dont use it. I work as a state call rep because of the tuition waiver it brings. I am currently enrolling in a local community college to get a associated in tec support/help desk management .. I was wondering is this enough to get a entry level job once I get my AA?

I want to have a job and move to another city before I get my BS but I was wondering is a AA with my certificates good enough to get a entry level job?

I downloaded a video to 3gp converter program last ight to put some movies on my i68.. the movie play and all but the quality looks like 1998 video .. I dont mind it, but I would like clearer picture. If not Ill live with what i have but my free softwars says you can get the full version for $30 and high quality videos. Can converters convert high quality 3gp videos is the retail version worth buying for high quality videos?

My best friend is dating a girl of another race right now. Ok the females we know gie him grief over it because she is of a different background. Im gonna unlock my cell phone today. My friend said I could use his sim card when he gets home. I dont want to damage his sim card or anything will using his sim card to unlock my phone damage his sim?..He is on a different provided than I am so i know thats what I need to unlock this phone. but I dont want to mess up his card... will using his card to unlock my phone mess his sim up?

I recently got a prepaid phone from on carrier, but unlocked it . now my friend says now that its unlocked, I can get a regular carrier plan if I want I would just ahve to change the sim card.. Can I get a regualr carrier on a prepaid cell phone thats unlocked?

my roomie is fixing a friends cpu. He got everything fixed, but her drive reads I drive instead of C . how can he change the boot drive lettering?

another note when he put my harddrive in her computer it read C but when he put hers back in it read I again
