Hello liberals, conservatives, independents, and trolls!

I am writing something for an assignment, and would very much like to hear your input, and arguments, on this topic.

The topic is Government and the modern drive to increase it's power and responsibility. Or much easily simplified to "big government".

I would like to hear your thoughts, whether pro-government, or anti-government on this issue and on government as a whole.

Now, obviously we need some forms of government, however, I would like to hear your thoughts, criticisms, arguments, etc, for government, or against it.

Sample Questions:

1) Do you think the government should be larger, or smaller? And do you think the government should be given more power?

2) Do you think that, despite the failures of our politicians (who couldn't even pass a budget and continue to fail), we should continue to support a larger government and give them more responsibility?

3) Do you think the government needs to have a larger role in the economy? And how do you address the corruption both in the government, and the private sector (and the corrupt ties between the two) that lead to problems?

4) What are your opinions on the affects of larger government on business? Is it positive? Or is it negative?

Those are just some sample questions.

I am doing an ethnographic study on illegal immigration, and I can use your help! It will only take a few minutes of your time (so instead of answering a troll's fifth angry post, why not answer my glorious survey?)

8) What do you think of the representations of illegal immigration in the media?

9) Do you think Mexicans and other South Americans are damaged by these representations?

10) What do you think of opposing views on illegal immigration? Do you think they're right to an extent?

11) What do you think makes them believe that way?
