  • Out Gateway FX Laptop suddenly started to intermittently lose color on the monitor...?

It will be working fine, but all of a sudden everything goes grayscale. It then comes back as suddenly as it left... anyone know why this is happening or what the solution is?

  • Horrendous lower left pelvic/abdominal pain...?

It started yesterday. It only happens every once in a while and I feel absolutely fine in between the occurrences. It happened off and on yesterday (about 6 or 7 times) and when it came on it was sudden, without warning and extremely painful. The pain is isolated to a very specific area- very, very low in my abdomen/pelvic area and over to the left side of my body and when it happens, it only lasts for about 10-20 seconds- it's not a "stabbing" pain, it's more of a very intense "wringing out" kind of strong ache almost. I'm not bleeding from it and I feel fine otherwise. I don't know how to describe it...

I had my period (very short and fairly light/medium flow- my 2nd "regular" one since my son was born about 7.5 months ago) just a few days ago. I was on birth control up until last month- the day after I stopped taking it I finally got my first short somewhat-regular period for about two days. I hadn't had a period since he was born (after all the bleeding from that, because for two months after he was born I bled and bled), but once it stopped I didn't get another period until last month.

And here is where it's complicating- for the first time in about 2 years my friends and I got together and had some drinks the night before last so I thought that the pain yesterday was because of the alcohol, however the pain has come again twice in the last hour, so I'm not sure the alcohol had anything to do with it.

I don't want to go to my doctor unnecessarily, I tend to worry and overreact to these kind of things because it is in an area that involves my fertility, but this intermitent (sp?) and sudden pain is getting really scary. It didn't happen last night so I thought it was over...

It just happened again, so now three times already this morning. I know some of you are going to be like, "Why are you asking this on here, just call your doctor." But please try to understand my situation, I am just asking for other women's opinions before I get too upset about it.

  • Desperate for an answer...?

My mother passed away almost a year ago. Her sisters have picked out and already paid for a headstone without asking my opinion or consent or even a phone call/email. I found out today when I visited our family website because one of them made a "news post" stating that they picked out the design and paid for it.

I want to know if I have any say in this legally? Can I stop this? I live in Virginia (and that's where my Mother is buried, too.) The sister who paid for it lives in Maryland.

  • OK... this question has TMI, so please only read and respond if you know about Pregnancy/Miscarriage.?

Oh man... I don't even know how to start on this one. Alright: I had my first child two months ago (C-Sec). Everything has been fine since then, I had bleeding on and off at first like everyone does, but really haven't had any bleeding in a few weeks.

The last few days I have been pretty sick. It all started when I woke up with a terrible neckache that spread quickly all the way down my back into my tailbone. I could hardly move or walk without pain. It subsided that night but out of the blue around 10pm that night I got slammed with a sore throat, fever from 100 to 103, and off-and-on nausea. This lasted from that night through the next day (yesterday) and is finally starting to subside this morning.

Warning, here is the TMI part: However... about 30 minutes ago, I went to the bathroom to pee and it was orangey-red and a large clump (the size of a golf ball) came out. I didn't have any pain, cramps or bleeding and I still don't. Yes, this is gross, but I touched the "clump" to see if it was just discharge, but it didn't break apart and it wasn't anything like normal discharge... it was the consistency of (and looked like) milky egg-whites. Right now, I'm actually feeling a lot better than I have in the last few days. A few days before this all started, I kept getting mild nausea off and on, but no throwing up- which was typical of my first pregnancy. I don't think this is a yeast infection or anything like that because I don't have any itching, pain or discomfort in that area and haven't had any discharge at all. Yes, I called my doctor and told them everything and they said I need to come in tomorrow for a urine test.

What I'm getting to is that I'm scared that I had (or am having) a very early miscarriage. It's breaking my heart, so please... if you aren't going to be serious with your answer, or if you really don't know what this could be, please don't answer. Please only answer if you genuinely want to help.

  • 37 1/2 Weeks Pregnant, need advice about proven & safe self-induction...?

I'm 37 1/2 wks preg. now & baby is est to be over 8lbs. I'm not dialated or effaced at all. I always wanted an all-natural birth with no medication at all & my Dr. said if I don't go into labor on my own by next Monday, baby will be too big for me to safely deliver vaginally & we'll have to schedule a C-Sec. I am really upset about the thought of a C-Sec. I want what's best for my baby & I will do it in a heartbeat if I need to, I'll never compromise his health, safety or well-being.

But I still want to try for vaginal delivery- I've read all sorts of "home-remedy / wives tales" on how to supposedly "safely" induce or bring on labor. Like: walking, sex, breast stimulation, castor oil, raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose, ride on a bumpy road, spicy-hot foods, hot bath, acupressure points, etc...

Anyway, if you did any of these or something else altogether to induce YOUR labor and it WORKED, please share your story with me.

  • 36 Weeks, 2 days pregnant and LOTS of Braxton Hicks?

I am 36 Weeks, 2 Days pregnant with my first child. I am getting LOTS of Braxton Hicks Contractions. I usually get them sporatically throughout the day, but the last 5 or 6 late afternoons into the evenings I have been getting them constantly and they are very strong. I don't have consistent pain with them, but they take my breath away and my belly gets rock hard. Sometimes there is quick, sharp pain very low but it doesn't last very long.

I've been timing them tonight and I had one at

    8:14 (about a min & half long),

another at 8:28 (1 min, 15 sec long),

another at 8:39 (1 min long),

one at 8:48 (1 min long),

and this last one at 9:00 (1 min long)

and one right now at 9:08 (and it was about 1 min long)

Is this normal, or should I call my Doc. I don't want to over react, I feel fine, really- I just don't want to ignore a possible problem. I've been drinking lots of water and I'm just sitting here- not being very active. Baby is moving a lot so I know he's okay.

  • 34 Weeks, 3 Days Pregnant... not sure if this is Braxton Hicks or Baby Stretching or the Real Thing...?

I am 34 Weeks, 3 Days pregnant with my first child. I've experience Braxton Hicks contractions for months now, so I know what they are and can identify when one is happening. However, lately, I'm not sure if it's the baby stretching (he is estimated to weigh 5 lbs, 2 oz according to ultrasound last week, BIG BOY!) or if it is Braxton Hicks contractions. They are very strong if they are and increasing in frequency. I timed a few and they are not consistent, really. I had one and then 5 mins later another, then 3 mins, then 2 mins and now I haven't had one and it's been about 5 mins. I had some lower back pain earlier and I've been getting sharp pains every so often since... what do you ladies think? I am definately anxious for his birth- very excited of course! Do you think I'm looking too much into these sensations? Is it probably just him stretching since they aren't consistent intervals of time? (water hasn't broken, don't think i've lost mucous plug & no bloody show...)

  • I just had an ultrasound (33 weeks pregnant) and baby is 5 lbs, 2 oz... doesn't this sound BIG?

I am 5'1" and now 33 weeks pregnant- the estimated fetal weight according to my ultrasound earlier said he is 5 lbs, 2 oz. They said my due date is still accurate, which is July 28th. It's just that everything I've read said that the baby is usually just over 4 lbs at this time...

I am happy that he is big because I had gone through extreme stress due to my mother's death earlier in the pregnancy and I lost about 20 lbs- I've gained just about all of it back now but it only looks like I gained it in baby weight, the rest of my looks a lot thinner than I was when we found out I was pregnant (4 weeks along).

Does anyone have any input? Does he seem to be weighing large to you? I know it's an ESTIMATED FETAL WEIGHT, but WOW... 5lbs, 2 oz ALREADY?! (I was 5 lbs, 5 oz when I was born- I was full term)

  • Urgent... I am 31 Weeks Pregnant... AFLAC question, please help!?

I'm 24 and 31wks preg w/ 1st baby & had a lot happen throughout this pregnancy that's caused immense emotional stress... 2 days after we found out we were pregnant (about 4 wks along) my Mom was rushed to the hospital, placed in MICU, declined rapidly (lung transplant from 3 yes ago had failed), placed on ventiator so she couldn't even talk, was in an out of comas, too... passed away on Jan 20th- after 2mo being in there. That entire time was horribly stressful & upsetting for us & hospital was 2 hrs away, too. Anyway, there have been other things that happened since, too & I'm just exhausted emotionally & physically now. The baby has been fine so far from what Dr says, but he mentioned me going from full-time to 4hrs/day @work at my last visit. I'm going in this morning & I he's going to ask me about it. I would like part-time, but will I lose AFLAC? I have the short-term disability that covers up to 6wks after the birth... I can't afford to lose it. Anyone know anything about this?

  • I've just opened an E-Shop featuring my graphic designs... any advice or suggestions?

Please go take a look at my new shop: http://www.cafepress.com/thisgirldesigns .

This is my first attempt at trying to make a little extra money since I enjoy graphic design and Paint Shop Pro/Photoshop. EVERYTHING in there was designed by me. I'm very excited about this, as it's been a dream of mine to sell my designs and actually be successfull with it.

I am hoping that once I get the word out about my shop and get a lot more products in there to sell, I might be able to be a stay-at-home mom. (I'm due with our first child- a boy- in late July. =)

Most of my designs/products are targeted for people like myself... mothers and mommies-to-be, but I am getting more items in there to include all sorts of stuff. I even offer lots of custom products, which are my favorite thing to create. :)

ANY advice or suggestions would be helpful... I REALLY want to make this work, so I am very open to what the public wants and what they think of my shop.

    Thank you in advance!!!

  • "Ballooning" and "Tightening" Sensation (not painful)?

I'm 24 years old & 21 weeks, 5 days pregnant with our 1st child (a boy, his name is Noah Cayden) & I wanted to share this to see what everyone else says/thinks.

Since about 15 weeks or so, I've experienced a very strange "ballooning & tightening" sensation in different spots in my belly. I had my hubby put his hand on me when it started happening the other day & he actually felt it tightening up, too. It never hurts (well, it hasn't thus far) & once it "blows up & tightens," it usually "deflates & softens" anywhere from 10 - 45 seconds later.

Anyone else experience this? I've done some research & I'm pretty sure what this is & I'm not worried (I'm going to ask my Doc tomorrow, though to be sure). If you did experience this, how far along were you when you first noticed it? Was it your 1st pregnancy or subsequent pregnancy? How long (seconds, minutes or whatever) did it last? Did it get more intense over the course of your pregnancy? Did it ever begin to be painful?

    =)

  • 18w2d pregnant... just felt baby move for 1st time! Anyone else? Share your 1st time movement experience, too!

I'm 18w2d preg w/ our 1st. My hubby & I were laying in bed & I was laying on my back hoping to feel "flutters" (like always lately!) Most of the time, I just feel air pockets & I've never thought it was the baby, but this time, just below my belly button, I felt a VERY distinct "poke" upwards. I was shocked & I looked down at my bare belly & almost immediately, it happened again & I actually SAW my tummy poke up ever-so-slightly. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, but right away, it happened AGAIN & I saw my belly do the same thing again! I awoke my hubby & told him what happened. He put his hand on my belly right where I told him to & right away, I felt the same thing again but before I could say anything, he said, "Was that the baby?!" He felt it, too! Anyone else have a first-time baby movement experience to share? How many weeks? Where did you feel it? Was it a "poke" or "flutter?" Did you see your belly move at the first time movement? Share all the details, please!

  • What do you think of these two first/middle name combos?

I am 18 weeks pregnant and we are going to find out on February 29th whether we are having a boy or girl! This is our first child and we are ecstatic to say the least! Also, congrats to all you other mommies-to-be out here!!!

The names we've picked out are:

    GIRL

    Danica Katherine

(My Mom recently passed away after being in the Medical ICU for 2 months. It's been very tough to deal with this, but she knew I was pregnant and was so happy. Her name was Kathryn and my Dad's name is Danny. 'Danica' is a combo of both their names, and 'Katherine' is a variation of my mom's name of course, so this name means so much to us.)

    and

    BOY

Zachary Ryan (This name didn't really come from anyone in our families... we just really liked the combo!)

    What do you all think?

  • I am 3 months and 3 weeks pregnant and I CAN NOT SLEEP. I get about 3-4 hours a night average.?

I work full time, as well. Recently just lost my mom (we were very close and this has been devastating) after her being in the hospital ICU for 2 months due to a lung transplant from three years ago having complications. My life has been stressful, and I've always had a hard time sleeping, even before I got pregnant. My doctor doesn't seem to think this is a problem. He says I can take a Benedryl to help me sleep, but that isn't even working anymore.

Any advice? I am absolutely exhausted, devastated, depressed now, all the time. I've lost 11 pounds since I got pregnant, the doctor said that's okay, too. I'm just at the end of my rope. All I want is to get some sleep for once so I can handle working all day. My job is very stressfull and I am busy from the moment I get there until the moment I leave.

  • Name help please (Unique)?

I am 12w3d Pregnant with our first child, my husband and I are so excited! We've wanted this for a long time and its finally happened. Our last name is Bise (pronounced like B+ice -yes, ice as in ice cubes!)

For a girl, we like Dannica. I would call her Dani for a nickname. The only middle name I can come up with that would go well is Lynne, but I would like to have something more unique than that.

For a boy, we like a quite a few first names that we can't decide on: Noah, Kaiden, Gabriel, Micah, Zachary, Eli... We've thought about Noah Kaiden Bise, but not stuck on it yet.

If you have any ideas for unique (but not obnoxiously unique) middle names, please share them with me!!

  • 10 weeks pregnant I have a question for other women that are 9-11 weeks along... Share your thoughts with me!?

I'm 10 weeks pregnant with my first child. Just wondering what the other woman out there who are 9, 10 or 11 weeks along are feeling- emotionally and physically.

Personally, I am absolutely ecstatic! It took us about 6 months of actively trying to get pregnant for it to happen. Honestly, I am terrified of the labor/delivery part, but I know it will be okay. I am planning on doing this naturally- no epidural. Physically, I have only thrown up twice, but I am nauseated pretty much all the time and my appetite is just about non-existant, except for every once in a while. And I am exhausted all the time, too! Other than that, I am feeling wonderful!

Please share your thoughts with me! I really want to know how all you other women are doing! =)

  • Fetal Heart Monitor (How far along until I can hear anything?)?

I am 10 weeks pregnant with our first child, and tonight I bought a "Summer" Fetal Heart Monitoring Device (to hear the baby's heartbeat). It says it probably won't pick up any sound until midway through the second trimester, but I'm just curious... has anyone tried this particular product or one like it? How early were you able to hear anything? My hubby is going to pick up batteries on his way home in a few hours because I forgot them (of course!), but I am just dying to try this thing even though it's still kinda early.

  • VERY faint line on preg test...?

I was on birth control pills for about 6 years but stopped taking them in June because my husband and I wanted to start trying to conceive our first child. Each month it's been a "no," and I bought a pregnancy test today just for the heck of it. I don't expect my period for another 5 days, but I took it anyway and there was a very faint (but definate) line to indicate a positive.

I am trying my best not to get too excited. I've read online a faint line usually means positive.

All I'm looking for here are a few stories from people who have had this happen with them and what the result was.

    Thanks!!!
