It appears to be an easy, straight forward swap, but can I salvage the left hand grip or do I need to cut it off?

Does anyone think ABB will seek new guitarists and carry on or is this the end of the road? Warren and Derek are two of the best guitarists alive today and they will continue to prosper on their own and in their individual bands. My fear is that the Allmans will cease to be after 45 years.

I needed a home library for my music and ITunes looks great, but I don't have an IPod. My MP3 player is a Sandisk. Is Itunes compatible with other manufacturers players?

They were one of my favorite Southern Rock bands and I never hear mention of them on Y/A.

and today is his birthday. The leader, singer and guitarist for Phish was ranked #73 in Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 100 Guitar Players of all time. Anyone want to send him a happy birthday greeting?

While Bob Wier and Phil Lesh are touring with the band Furthur, the Dead's old rhythm section is on the road as The Rhythm Devils. The band lineup is as follows:

Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, Keller Williams (guitar, vocals) in July and Tim Bluhm of the Mother Hips (guitar, vocals) on later dates, Davy Knowles (guitar, vocals), Sikiru Adepoju (talking drum), and Andy Hess (bass). So I just heard some of there live stuff and I like it better than Furthur. Why has nobody told me about this "other" band?

The Allman Brothers Band was the only group to have four guitarists in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the Top 100 Guitar Players of all time. Who, in your opinion is the best:

1. Duane Allman

2. Dickie Betts

3. Derek Trucks

4.Warren Haynes

My favorite is Warren, but of course Derek is the best slide player alive today. Seems Duane is the one everyone always mentions. Who's your favorite?

I was looking up info on Jimmy Herring, the guitarist from Widespread Panic and I found this note on his favorite guitar:

Jimmy's "go to" guitar is a custom shop Fender Stratocaster built by Gene Baker in 1993. Unlike most Fender guitars, it is equipped with two humbuckers rather than 3 single coil pickups, and it has Dunlop 6000 fret wire (the highest guitar frets that are made).

Question: What is a fret wire and what do they mean by "the highest"? Does it give the guitar a higher pitched sound?

His initial recordings from the mid-'60s — featuring the legendary, racially integrated first edition of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band — were eclectic, groundbreaking offerings that fused electric blues with rock & roll, psychedelia, jazz, and even (on the classic East-West) Indian classical music. The East West album came out in 1966 and still sounds good today. The band featured Elvin Bishop and Michael Bloomfield. What a great line up.

The reviews have been fantastic and it was supposedly recorded live in the studio. Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top is a guest on the album. Anybody heard it yet?
