What is the underside of carpet made of?
What material is the bottom of carpet made of? If you flip over carpet what is that material? We had a rug made of remnants for our family room. It is high pile. We were cleaning the family room the other day and moved it to sweep under it. When we flipped the rug we saw urine stains. I guess our dog had used the rug for a bathroom a couple of times. We have cleaned the top part thoroughly. But if we smell the underside we can still smell urine. We have used vinegar, baking soda, and rubbing alcohol (to sanitize it), but we still can't get rid of the odor. We can only smell it if we have the rug flipped and literally stick our nose to it, but we are sure our dog will still be able to smell it when the rug is flipped to the correct side. We want to avoid anymore accidents. What can we use to clean the bottom side of the carpet without staining the actual carpet?
Decorating & Remodeling8 years agoMy corgi is limping?!?
About 3-4 weeks ago my 3 year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi started limping. He is lifting his back left leg. We took him to the vet who gave him anti-inflammatory medicine. We gave it to our dog. He seemed fine, but for the past 1-2 weeks he has began to randomly limp again. He ranges from running around like normal to completely avoiding touching his leg to the ground. The vet was unable to find anything wrong, but did not do an x-ray. My husband said to wait in case it gets better, but I think we have waited long enough. Any ideas?
4 AnswersDogs8 years agoMy kitten is peeing and pooping outside of litter box?
I just adopted a kitten (2-3 months old). I had been keeping her in the bathtub with all of her food, litterbox, etc. because she has symptoms of the Calicivirus. I was keeping her away from my other cat until we see how long the symptoms last. While in the tub, she used the litterbox consistently. Anyway, I moved her to a guest bedroom so she would have more space. She peed in the box once. But, ever since she has been peeing around the box (about a foot away) in different spots. I have cleaned it thoroughly. She has also pooped outside the box and "buried" it with a towel. The litterbox is totally accessible. I am baffled by the behavior. I would appreciate any suggestions.
2 AnswersCats8 years agoI need a No Heat/Cool Recipe for my classroom!?
I am looking for a recipe that requires NO heat (stove, microwave, oven, melting etc.) and NO cooling (freezer, ice, freezing, etc.) and no major appliance (blender, food processor, mixer, etc.)
I am having my 6th graders do operations with fractions and decimals using a recipe. They have to do the operations in order to know what to to put into the recipe. My classroom has no access to a refrigerator or microwave. My students will be in small groups...and I don't have access to enough small appliances for each group. The extent of the appliances will be bowls, spoons, and measuring cups/spoons.
I want a recipe that will change flavors if the incorrect measurement of certain ingredients is used. I want correct answers to be essential.
I would appreciate any and all ideas! Thanks!
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoWhat to do about the top of my kitchen cabinets.?
So, we just bought a house. It is a split level atrium floor plan. From the top of my stairs, I can see the top of my kitchen cabinets because I have vaulted ceilings. My problem is that I would normally display plates or something, but there is a bird's eye view of the top of the cabinets as well as a lower view. I will not use fake plants. I hate them. Any ideas?
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling9 years agoWhen I close my laptop, it re-sizes all of my folders?
I own a Sony Vaio Laptop that runs Windows 7, and since I have owned it it has done something funny. When I close my laptop and then re-open it, it will re-size all of the folders on my desktop. It is usually some random size, sometimes very large, sometimes small. My laptop is not set to sleep when I close it, so it is not correlated to that.
Also, if I leave another program in front of the desktop when I close the lid, it does something similar. For example, if I were to leave my internet browser up, the next time I opened it the page that I was on has incredibly small letters.
I have tried looking for something similar happening before, but I have not found anything. If anyone has any ideas as to how I can correct this, please let me know.
Thank you!
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoStars Flashing Red, White, Blue?
Tonight in St. Joseph Missouri we saw at least two stars flashing between red, white, and clue. It was pretty obvious flashing. We watched the stars for about twenty minutes, they never moved. One was in the south sky, we think part Orion's Belt and then one was more in the southwest sky. They were different sizes and brightnesses. The one in the south west was larger and brighter. I know that stars flicker, but these were much different. We came out later in the night and they were doing the same thing. There are no towers in the area.

Who would be a good celebrity to make fun of in a fake interview for a class? I need someone who has lots of drama and junk in their life.
5 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoLightheaded every afternoon?
I went to the doctor about being lightheaded every afternoon. It has even been bad enough that I have had to leave class. The doctor did blood work, and everything came back normal. My diet and sleep patterns are regular. I just don't know what could be going on. The problem has been going on for about two weeks. About one week ago I finished weaning my self off of zoloft, and I was on my period about a week ago. (Just more info)
