  • Feel heartbeat in chest after exercise?

    Hey all,

Everytime I do intense exercise I can feel my heartbeat in my chest, this usually lasts about five seconds.

I'm 16 years old, quite slim and have a strong heart (I've been running for about a year now).

There is no pain to it at all.

Something like this wouldn't usually bother me, but I'm joining the Army soon.

    thanks

  • Eczema and the British Army?

    Hey all

Im currently in the process of joining the British Army and have just read on the website that eczema can be a disqualifying condition. Now I had mild eczema for about two weeks, 6 months ago, but was treated by steroid creams and moisturing creams.

Up until that point I'd never had eczema before in my life and it hasn't come back since, could this stop me joining up?

I've already handed my medical questionare in and it is being filled in right now and I think my doctor will write it down.

    Many thanks

  • Shoulder joint problems?

    Hey all

I'm a 16 year old male who has been weight training frequently for 3 months.

Ever since I first started weight training I have always had the odd click and pop in my shoulder joint (the rotator cuff I think) that I hear while bench pressing or doing certain shoulder exercises.

At first the clicks and pops were quite infrequent, but now they have made my shoulder feel very tender and sensitive even when I haven't been exercising.

My shoulder now gives me discomfort (not pain) when I move my arm away from my body or past the back of my head and the pops occur when I do these.

I have an appointment with my G.P in a few days, but was hoping to put my mind at rest until then.

The reason I am this concerned with the whole situation is because I am joining the British Army in September, and I'm hoping this will not affect my entrance into there.

    Many thanks!

  • How long does it take muscle mass to decrease?

    Hey guys,

I lift heavy weights regularly (once every 2-3 days) and am going on a two week holiday in the next few days, where I plan to give weight lifting a break.

When I get home will I see any size reduction in my muscles?

Also many days does it take before muscle mass starts to decrease?

    Many thanks

  • Can I still gain muscle mass while running?

    Hey guys,

I start my British Army training this September and have started running to increase my fitness and stamina.

Over the past 3 months I've been lifting heavy weights to increase muscle mass and have been growing like a weed ever since.

Every morning I run two miles. Now I'm wondering if carrying on my weight training, while also running, will I still gain muscle mass from my weights?

I eat about 3000 calories a day of all the right foods (mainly Protein, Carbs and Fruit & Veg) and also take supplements (creatine and protein synthesis boosters).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys!

  • I think my mum is on her way to a mental breakdown?

For the past few months my mum has been acting really bizarre.

I know she hasn't been happy for years but up until lately things have been getting out of hand.

My mum used to be a heavy drug user and she has been sectioned twice, she's also had a few nervous breakdowns and a difficult past growing up.

Every other day she'll tell me the wrongs of western society and is trying to force me into religion, also she's bought many books about ancient philosiphers and is very convinced the world is going to end in 2012.

Her mood swings will change from a loving to depressive with the wind and just half an hour ago she told me she couldn't care if she went to sleep and never woke up.

Now I love my mum so much and I don't know what to do. I've seen her go through similar crisis in the past but nowhere near as bad as this and Im worried she may do something really stupid.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks,

  • How to keep muscles toned?

    Hey all

I've been working out for about three months now and my muscles are exactly the size and tone I want them to be.

Every two days I would have an hour work out which consisted of pushups, situps, and weights on my upper body.

Since I don't really want to gain any more muscle mass and look massive I'm not quite sure what to do in order to keep my muscles roughly the same size.

I am still on a healthy diet with lots of protein and calorie intake.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Advice for getting into shape?

Hey guys, I'm looking to get into shape.

For the past 2 and a half weeks I have been doing a combination of exercises to tone my upper body. Every night I spare myself 30 mins to do a number of push ups, sit ups and lifting weights.

Im seeing improvement to my physique but are wondering if there are any other methods I could use.

I would say I have a balanced diet with lots of protein in.

I've heard good things about burpees and are considering adding some of them.

Any advice would be much appreciated guys :)

  • Why have all the old rock idols sold out?

While I was watching T.V the other day I saw John Lydon appear on a Country Life butter advert, And I thought to myself "Why has Johnny Rotten, king of the Punks appeared on a poxy Butter advert?" But then I realized that other stars were also doing this, Ozzy Osbourne appeared in a World of Warcraft advert and Iggy Pop was promoting an insurance company. I'm sure there are others, but I don't watch that much television.

Have these rockstars sold out? I hope not.

  • I need some love advice. Please help!?

I'm kinda stuck here, I really like this girl who I have known most of my life, and I'm too afraid to ask her out. But I don't know if she's feeling the same for me. We spend a lot of time together, we're always holding each other like hugs and arms around each other, and whenever she sees me, she'll ditch who ever she's walking with to run up to me and give me a hug.

Erh! I really don't know what to do! Most of my friends like her as well, but no one gets anywhere near as much affection from her as me. I really don't know what to do. I don't want to lose my friends, but I want to be with her.

  • Need a little help with deciding myself.?

Although I generally hate branding myself with titles, I can't help myself stutter when I meet new people and they ask "what are you?" They only ever mention this when I'm not in my everyday wear, like in my school uniform for example. Moving on, I'd like your guys help at suggesting what I could come under.

    I wear:

    Airwalk shoes

    Skinny jeans

    Studded belts

    Band sweat bands

Various band accesories ( badges, keychains, etc)

A band shirt or black one

    Checkered jacket, band hoodie

and I also have long brown hair (:

Also when I say band, I mean like heavy metal, rock etc. .

    Thanks guys.
