looking for advice to improve fireplace efficiency without investing thousands of dollars

I recently decided to adopt the Kings Indian Attack, it seems like a solid system with comfortable play for white. However I occasionally have difficulty keeping my pawns on f2, g3 and h2 surrounding the fianchettoed white bishop in tact, exposing my king. Also in the white bishop has no sharp attack on f7. blacks primary weakness in e-file openings. to me this seems to make it a bit of a passive attack. any suggestions?

Ok Ive done a little research. Im no aviation expert, but this #21 simply does not look capable of controlled flight. It appears more like a design by DaVinci. A good start but simply the wrong principal. Nor do the "engines" look like they could generate enough horsepower to lift such a thing. opinions?

Not a situation that occurs frequently but I would just like a few other opinions. If all else is equal material and positional wise, would you prefer to have a Queen or two Rooks?

I have been playing Chess casually for over 40 years and recently decided to "up my game" a bit. I began watching instructional videos and studying the various stages (opening, middle and end) of the game. And to my delight my game has improved significantly. I finally achieved a draw from the Philidor position! I now would like to take it even further by choosing a few of the old Grand Masters that played a style similar to my own and studying their games. I like to play a counter punching style, waiting for my opponent to commit a blunder then capitalizing on it. I understand the hyper-modern theory of conceding the center waiting for the right moment to attack, but i don't care for it. I much prefer to establish a center pawn chain. Nothing pleases me more than dominating an opponent with a minor piece and a pawn buried deep in enemy territory! Which of the old Masters favored this style?

Recently I became aware that a few acres of land that had been in my family for nearly 50 years was lost to back taxes. The piece of land was owned outright by my Father who passed away nine years ago. At the time I was right in the middle of a twenty-one year Army career. During my Army tour I was moving around the globe quite a bit and naturally Stewardship of the land fell to my Sister who alleges the land was left to her by my Father's Will. The Plan was to build a retirement residence on the land once my career was completed. Sadly about six months ago it came to my attention that it had been lost to back taxes. Now of course there is much family drama surrounding this, many people blaming each other. In my search for the truth several facts have occurred to me, not the least of which being that the last time I saw the deed to the land it still had my Father's name on it not my sister's. Also I never saw or read any such Will that my father had. I have no such hopes as to ever regaining the property, however a few mementos of my childhood would be nice to have. In the end more than anything I need closure in this so that my father may rest peacefully. Any advice in this regard would be highly apreciated

I am 46 years old and have been playing chess since age 4, at my strongest rating I played at around 1550-1600. I play nearly every single day of my life mostly on line now, however I used to frequent chess clubs weekly. For years I stuck with my favorite openings, and had a decent amount od success with them. The Queens gambit and the Caro Khan. Over the past 5 years I have been experimenting with other openings in the hopes of strengthening my game even further. For a while i was winning with the Kings gambit and the French defense. However over the past year or so, my game seems to be falling apart terribly. I just dont seem to see simple combinations as I used to. If I manage to get an early advantage I will nearly every time squander it in the end game. Is this common as we get older or am I missing something? I want my game back so bad I cant stand it. I want to be able to walk into a coffee house and proclaim "I can beat anyone here at chess" and back it up again. Can anyone suggest a few excersizes or any other proven methods that have worked for them?

This is the man who has suggested that there be 100 NFL teams and Olympic Football. Now there is talk of reoving the extra point and kickoffs. This guy is an idiot and his entire regime stinks of Vince McMahon and some studio wresteling crap! Does anyone remember the XFL? seems to me if Goodell isnt removed this is the direction the game is going! There seems to be a misconception by the NFL top Brass, NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE 50 POINTS SCORED PER GAME!!! Some of us like to see a smothering defense that can take control of a game. In my opinion this is slowly but surely becoming extinct. James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers is a prime example. Because he has had to change his playing style he is flat out no longer a force to be reconed with. It seems to me that the emphasis is on having an elite QB who can either run for 100 yards a game or pass for 400. Sadly with defenses and special teams being restricted so heavily now your average mediocre QB can do these things. Whats next, an NFL CFL merger?!?!!? The NFL rules are becoming more like Canadian rules every day. And the Quality of play is going down. IMPEACH ROGER GOODELL!!! before we lose our beloved North American football entirely.

This ig going to sound insane but at 46 years old i have finally realized the common denominator for women I find attractive. They are Jewish. Up until very recently i didnt see the thread between the likes of Bette Midler, Fran Drescher, Sarah Silverman, Alicia Silverstone, Lisa Kudrow hell even Barbara Streisand for that matter. The strange thing is they dont all particularly look the same in any way. Could it be the attitude or the persona they carry? Unbelieveable I have just now seen this. (a little late in life) but I cant be the only man on earth who has noticed this. Is there a term or a word for this obsession?

A close friend of mine has a rather unusual sleep pattern. Instead of 6-8 hours every day she like to sleep 12-14 hours every OTHER day. For example; she will go to sleep on a Monday evening at 7-8 PM and wake up at 8-9 Tuesday morning. She will then stay awake Wednesday evening until 7-8 then sleep again till thursday morning 8-9. She doesnt seem to have any ill effects from it other than being a little spacey and groggy around 1-2 Pm on the day she goes to sleep. But who isnt? Would this be considered a severe enough sleep disorder to see a specialist?

I see this thread is finally boiling down to some sort of common consensus if not the truth. I have already had one of my questions removed by Big Brother. I love this. It just further supports me

Why in the world would i ask someone else to explain to me what i experience every second of every day. Firsthand. i know this, After 21 years and a normal progression in an average middle class job, i live at a lower standard now than ever before. The further I research, the more I have come to believe Ron Paul was the last hope my generation will see of saving the true U.S.A. Woodrow Wilson,after signing the federal reserve act said this. They feel untouchable and will continue to financially rape our sons and daughters forever if left unchallenged. The United States Congress sadly is powerless in this matter. Only the legislative branch has any chance of stopping it and on that note I remind you of Lincoln and Kennedy. We must take these matters into our own hands my fellow citizens before all is lost. The collapse of the U.S. economy is emminant. We must entirely re-think our idea of what a Government of the people by the people for the people really means. It must be FORCED to serve us again. Bring all Military back home immediately, use it to completely seal off all borders, extinguish any foreign negotiations of any sort and return to the gold standard of currency. In ten years this country would be completely self sufficient and perhaps ready again to enter the area that is world contention. after 23 years, 3 children 20 years military 8 months from retirement and one year from a six figure income now my wife wants to leave?!?!?
