Asking out my TA?
My quarter just ended and all quarter long I have had the hots for one of my TAs. I am a microbiology major, 22 female and attracted to smart science guys but most importantly I like that he is older and matured.
We are both attractive people but I didn't flirt really because it would be inappropriate while he is my TA, except now he is done TAing for the rest of his degree and I graduate in August myself.
But the last day of lab I slipped my phone number to him in a handshake-except, it dropped and he started to inform me that I had dropped something and instead of acknowledging I ran out to catch up with my friends.
He hasn't called but grades aren't posted. A friend has advised that I reach out again via FB or email because she insists he probably just threw it away without looking.
I just assumed he got it but just decided not to pursue.
Do I try again or forget it?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating4 years agoDo you think he may still call?
I was housesitting for a friend for a few days so I took a different bus to the university yesterday. At one of the tops we picked up a very handsome gentleman and I was into the fact that he was wearing a suit. We both got off at the university and of course I didn't think about it anymore, but he got on the same bus as me going back as well. It was a very crowded bus and he sat in front of me but then offered his seat to another older woman (big plus in my eyes). Later on the woman next to me got off, and then he got up from where he was sitting and asked to sit next to me. We conversed until he had to get off but he asked me for my number and said he looked forward to talking to me soon. Shortly after he wrote "This is Anthony by the way" and I wrote back "It was very nice meeting you!" Then squat after that. I felt like we clicked nicely and he seemed more sophisticated than most guys, has already graduated but working towards PhD in genetics and I'm majoring in microbiology, so I was really thinking he wouldn't be playing games, but it's been over 24 hours :/
2 AnswersSingles & Dating6 years agoWhat does this mean?
I asked my best friend if he wanted to hang out next week. He responded by saying that this one time it was ok, but he likes to control things.
I thought it was a really weird thing to say to someone, but it explained a lot, because he's always really weird whenever I invite him to do something (he'll say he'll let me know if he can, but then never can, supposedly)
If it helps, I've known him 2 years, he's a guy, I'm a girl, I adore him, we flirt regularly and last time we were out together he wanted to know everything that I've ever done (sexually) and I mentioned handcuffs. Just putting that out there because my first thought was maybe it's suggestive of some BDSM thing?
Singles & Dating6 years agoLeg touching = flirty?
I adore my best friend (he's a guy; 23, I'm a girl; 20)
Over the summer, we went on a date that was unplanned but made official during the night. Later on I asked him if it was something he wanted to continue and he said he didn't think of me that way, and that it was just casual and would be too complicated because he wants to move to focus on med school and move to L.A. So, I told him we had to cut off the flirtiness because it's too hard for me.
Lately I've been feeling like maybe he's changed his mind. We have started flirting again like by telling each other how good the other looks or smells. His hugs have gotten tighter and longer. He wants to go to Europe for 6 months on his motorcycle and he invited me to ride on the back of his, but I couldn't go. When I asked how many other people were going he said 4 and emphasized that they were all guys. I was the only girl he invited.
During a meeting at work, 8 of us had chairs lined up horizontally, we were sitting by each other, on the other side of him was a dude, I looked over during the meeting and noticed my friend was sitting with his leg wayy stretched out right next to mine, but his other leg was no where near the guy sitting on his other side. Towards the end of the meeting his leg was touching mine, he readjusted a couple times but then our legs would touch again moments later and they just stayed like that til the end of the meeting.
thoughts?
4 AnswersSingles & Dating6 years agoHe likes her more than me?
A good guy friend of mine, I've known him a couple of years, is also a romantic interest of mine.
However, I believe he likes this other girl, who is also a very good friend of mine, more than me.
She's known him not quite as long. We all work together. He's 23, I'm 20, she's 18 & just out of highschool. We knew each other liked him, so when I ended up on a date with him (didn't know it was til he said so) I told her about it before anything happened, and found out the two of them had fooled around a week prior but she was off at college now. I got in a fight with him but he swore he didn't think about her like a girlfriend. He told us both he didn't want a relationship.
BUT, she was back in town and I met up with her. Turns out they've been skyping a lot and such and met up over the weekend and he said he likes her and wants to be with her but can't at this point in time.
I called him out for lying to me and now HE'S mad because he swears he didn't lie and he won't talk to me.
Am I in the right? & Does he like her or just saying that to make her feel better? I honestly don't care if they want to be together as long as they tell me what's up (as two of my best friends!!)
3 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoI don't want to lose him?
My friend that I work with...
I'm 20 he's 23
He's so caring, checks with me when I'm sick, makes sure I'm OK if I seem like I'm not, makes sure I get home safely
We are both pre-med and dream of traveling the world providing health care pro-bono
When we met I knew nothing about him, but turns out I played soccer with his sister and knew his whole family, we live one street over from each other, and both of us have a brother named Justin. He (my friend) was born in the same city on the same day as my brother!
We had a serious conversation in which I announced I would be leaving my position soon. He said the same thing, that he was moving to L.A. I said I might be going with my family to Silicon Valley (we both live in Seattle-area right now) Then we had a sweet intimate hug and I wanted to bawl, I've so thought we were soulmates and something would eventually happen if I gave it time.
My heart was really achy after he told me.. those cities are 5 hours apart.. I really want to tell him how I feel.. Is it a good idea and how should I?

1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoDoes this have any meaning?
I'm after a guy, we're friends and the past few months I've gotten a vibe he likes me too.
I've really ramped up my game recently because I'm tired of waiting!
He's so bad about making plans (it is with all his friends not just me) & we're both really busy.
I thought maybe this sounded promising?
I invited him to a concert, he said he wasn't sure if he could go, then said he couldn't.
I wrote back saying no biggie, but that we really do have to fix your track record.
He responded "We do eh? I think you're right" Does this seem like a good sign?? :/
2 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoI need Guy help!?
I like this guy a LOT and need to know how to get him to say if he likes me.
We've known each other for about a year, he hasn't been in a serious relationship in that time
We flirt some, mainly him with me b/c I'm not so good at flirting. Like today at work every time he came to talk to me he started with "Hey cutie," He's always so caring (wanted to know when I made it home safely after a flight, driven me home before, etc), and likes to suggest things we should do together (the biggest thing was a surprise helicopter ride. We haven't gone yet, but he came up with the idea to surprise me but then I found out)
The problem is he won't really follow up on anything. I've tried inviting him out before but he always flakes, so it's kind of mixed signals from him
What can I do to find out for sure??
3 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoHow to tell if it's a date?
I have a guy friend/co-worker, he is 22 and I'm 19. We get along great and for a while he regularly suggested things we should do together outside of work. First he took me on a motorcycle ride which was pretty cool, and then we had plans to go to a shooting range and he was going to teach me how to shoot, but he cancelled last minute and said "I have a surprise for you."
Now fast forward a month, I asked several times about this surprise and never got anything out of him. Apparently he told my other friend/co-worker about it though and she asked me a question... "If a guy invites a girl on a helicopter ride, would you think that was a date?" and the conversation got so sketchy that I figured it out. I mentioned the weird conversation my guy friend and the next day he *shyly* told me what it was all about, that his friend owns a helicopter tour company and he thought it'd be fun.
So, a helicopter ride! Apparently we can't go until the spring/summer, which is a LONG TIME to wait to find out the answer to the question everyone is wondering: is this a date??
My friend, who was the one that gave it away, said she was giving him a hard time about it when she found out saying "Is that a date? You know it sounds like a date, and you're going to give her the wrong impression" and apparently he said it wasn't a date. Later she said "Isn't it expensive?" and he said "Well yeah, but my buddy is giving me like 50% off." and she said "But isn't it still expensive?" and he said "Well but I do stuff for all my girl friends (as in friends that are girls)" she asked "You take them all on helicopter rides?" and he said "Well no I meant like hiking, this is the first helicopter ride I just thought it sounded cool."
I don't want to ask him directly, but I'd like to know. DATE OR NOT DATE?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoWhat's he thinking? Is he flirting?
I have a guy friend at work.
I can't figure out how he feels about me?
We get along great & a few months ago, he was very fixated on finding me a hobby. I told him that I'd probably like shooting (at the range) but I didn't know how, he said he'd teach me and I said, 'OK, let me know next time you go.' But then he never invited me. A month or so later, out of the blue he said 'let me know if you ever want to go for a motorcycle ride'
So, the next week I ended up texting him and we did go for a ride.
I tried to invite him out again to go shooting because I thought maybe he just didn't like taking initiative, but he cancelled on me. When he cancelled, he said "but I have a surprise for you." I've asked him twice about it and he wouldn't tell me anything but he hasn't brought it up since.
Because I hate when people cancel (feels like rejection to me), I told him if he wanted to hang out again he'd have to text me. And he hasn't, so I was sure that meant he wasn't interested.
Then he texted me earlier this week to ask a work question, and started off saying 'hey cutie'
He used pet names a lot before (usually 'chica' or 'girly') but this time it seemed more like flirting and now I'm confused about what he's thinking????
Do you think he's flirting or not? If he is, why won't he ask me out?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoCoughing for a week, getting worse?
I have had a dry cough for about a week. At first, it was mainly just in the evenings and on occasion. Now, I have to fight the urge to cough all day. It sometimes really bothers me if I don't let myself cough, like painfully itchy feeling. Breathing deeply through my nose can be soothing, talking and breathing through my mouth are triggers. Cough drops kind of help, but not really.
2 AnswersRespiratory Diseases8 years agoTonsil stone removal?
I have been sick for 2 weeks about. I first went in last Tuesday with a fever of 102 to get tested for the flu and they did a strep test as well. Both were neg so I went home and sort of got better for two days then felt a little worse and my fever was still lingering, so I went back on Sunday and found out that they hadn't done a strep culture, so they wanted to do that and the doctor put me on antibiotics (amoxicillin) just in case. On Wednesday, I hadn't heard back about the culture, but I developed what I thought was pus filled lumps on my tonsils. The doctor called them tonsil stones and said that aside from the stones my throat was looking a little better, but apparently even though they meant to send out the culture they never did. I asked if it would change the treatment, and she said no, so I was willing to not get swabbed again. She gave me an antibiotic shot and told me to do salt water gargles 4 times a day.
I've been doing that since Wednesday and the tonsil stones aren't coming out! The inflammation has finally gone down enough so that I can push on my tonsils without too much pain, but I couldn't push them out either. What can I do?
1 AnswerDental8 years agoI still have a fever but my cold is over?
I came down with a cold on Monday but didn't feel that bad so I still went out. On Tuesday I went to work and got sent home because my eyes were really swollen so I looked worse than I felt. I took my temp at home and it was 102. After that I went to the doctor to get tested for the flu and they also tested for strep and both were negative. Finally Thursday I felt fine but I still had a fever of 100.5 and I've been waking up every day since with the same temperature. My lymph nodes are still swollen too. What's wrong with me?
1 AnswerInfectious Diseases8 years agoMy blood pressure seems a bit high?
I used to have very low blood pressure (when I was 13, it was around 94/58) I was very underweight then. I'm 18 now I've gotten up to an average weight (I'm 5'8" and about 123lbs) and I am sick right now, I wanted to get tested for the flu so I knew I wasn't passing it on because I'm going to work still so I went to the doctor and when they checked my blood pressure it was 136/78.
They didn't seem too concerned about this but it seems awfully high to me. I'm a vegan and my diet is pretty decent. I'm not huge into vegetables.. I like them in things but not on the side of things.. I don't eat much sugar, and I never add extra salt to anything. I rarely am subject to stress or anxiety because I have a laid back personality. When my blood pressure was low, I was playing soccer regularly, but stopped two years ago because it didn't fit into my schedule anymore. I walk daily with my dog and I'm on my feet at work a lot.
3 AnswersHeart Diseases8 years agoNew patient forms- name of insured?
I am looking to set up an appointment with a GYN I have never visited one before. I have looked at several and on their new patient forms, they have a section for "name of insured" which requires a SS#. From my understanding, the name of insured would be my dad's name because it is provided by his work. I have an insurance card, is that not good enough? I would rather not ask my dad to fill out a GYN form.
3 AnswersWomen's Health8 years agoWill my parents know if I see an OBGYN (via insurance)?
I'm 18, never had penetrative sex, I have a guy friend that wants to but I've never seen a gynecologist and I'm not on birth control. I am on my parents' insurance (Premera) and I still live at home but I don't feel comfortable talking to my mom about that. She is in general very over protective and I decided long ago not to have a close relationship with her for that reason, I don't want her to know but I want to be safe. If I go will they find out via the insurance company?
1 AnswerWomen's Health8 years agoHow to stay in the friend zone?
So I work occasionally with this guy that I've always considered a friend. We have a very sarcastic/verbally abusive relationship, but lately he's been pushing to go out just us 2 I'm getting the feeling he wants something more but I'm just not interested in him that way. How can I stay in the friend zone, without downright saying I'm attracted to him, because I don't want it to be awkward
1 AnswerSingles & Dating9 years agoHow much does it cost to remove a pin from dog's bone?
My dog broke her tibia and had it surgically repaired but her new xrays show that the pin probably has to come out. They said she'll have to go under but it's a quick procedure. I forgot to ask about price. Any ideas? For budgeting purposes..
3 AnswersDogs9 years agoHow to run galaxy tab camera?
I just got a Samsung Galaxy 2 7.0 tab and it has a camera but I can't figure out how to get it to open. From what I've read, it should be under "apps" (I can't even find an "apps" button, but the menu with netflix, email etc is what I guess it means?) and it's not there. When I go to settings->applications, camera is listed under "all", but when I click on that, there isn't an option to run it.
