Write the equations of the two asymptotes?
Graph (y+3)2/9 - (x-2)2/16 = 1
Part I: Identify the coordinates of the center of this hyperbola.
center = (2,-3)
Part II: Use the values of a or b to locate the coordinates of the vertices.
=(2,-3,-3) , ( 2,-3+3)
=(2,-6) , (2,0)
Part III: What are the coordinates of the foci?
=(2,-3 + or - sqrt 16+9 )
= ( 2, -3 + or - 5)
= (2,-8) , (2,2)
Part IV: Write the equations of the two asymptotes.
I need help with part 4 please!!

If you pour a cup of coffee that is 200 F, and set it on desk in a room that is 68 F, and 10 minutes later it is 145 F, what temperature will it be 15 minutes after you originally poured it?
If t=0, P = 200
\[P_{t} = 132e^{-kt}+68\]
\[145 = 132e^{-10k}+68\]
\[\rightarrow k = 0.0539\]
\[P_{15} = 132e^{-.0539*15}+68\]
\[P_{15} = 126.81\]
so its 127??
Did I do it correctly? If not, please help me!

Identify the asymptotes, removable discontinuities, and intercepts for the graph of each function.
1. d(x)= (x^2 -12x+20) / (3x)
2. z(x)= (x^2-7x-8) / (x^3+64)
Please help me with these 2 questions. My math teacher is horrible and I have a test tomorrow! This is a practice prep.
Thank you!!

Why do you think a removable discontinuity (hole) doesn't produce an asymptote on the graph of a polynomial function, even though it is excluded from the domain of the function?

y=-2x^2
will the graph stretch vertically by a factor of -2
or stretch horizontally by a factor of -2 ??
Also y=(-3x)^2
How will that shift and by what factor?
Thank u
1 AnswerMathematics6 years agoPre-Cal help please, I need help with last 2 questions!!?
a. Explain the effect of c on the graph of y = f(x) for the function y = f(x) + c.
shifts the graph up or down so its a vertical shift
b. Explain the effect of c on the graph of y = f(x) for the function y = f(x + c).
Phase shift. It shifts the graph right and left ( horizontal shift )
c. Compare the graphs of y = f(x) and y = -f(x).
is a reflection in the x-axis
d. Compare the graphs of y = f(x) and y = f(-x).
is a reflection in the y-axis
e. Explain the effect of c on the graph of y = f(x) for the function y = cf(x).
f. Explain the effect of c on the graph of y = f(x) for the function y = f(cx).
I need help with E and F please!!
