  • portable air compressor question?

What is the difference between a "pancake" type compressor and a "twin-stack"? Does air fill up both 'chambers' of a twin-stack compressor?

  • what's the best pig-out food?

What's the best food that you can gorge yourself on without worrying too much about calories? When you feel like you just have to keep eating to feel full, what's the 'least detrimental' snack of choice? And please don't say 'drink lots of water' that's asinine and doesn't work, it doesn't make you feel full.

  • Comic book fans, what Green Lantern issue is this pic from?

I don't know if this is from a GL title, or a JLA title. I'm hoping somebody knows what issue or story-line this panel is from.

  • Failed emissions test, what do I need to do to pass?

took my var in for emissions testing needed for license renewal, car failed. here are the diagnostic trouble codes:

p0420- catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1)

p0430- catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 2)

    p0304- cylinder 4 misfire detected

it is a 1997 Ford Thunderbird with 130,000 miles. 8 cylinder. the check engine light has been on constantly for about 5 years. the light goes off after repairs and comes back on in as little as a week, one time the light was off for about 2 months.

what are my options? I had it in for fuel line repairs about 6months ago and the mechanic said that he 'reset the computer' that made the light go off, but (understandably) did not fix the reason why the light was on in the first place. If the 'computer is reset' without any underlying causes being fixed, will it pass emissions? Does the emissions test just reflect what the car's computer reads? Is this a short-term solution until I can afford to get the problems fixed? My priority now is just to pass the test.

    what are we talking $$$?

  • dryer exhaust problem?

my friend owns a condo. He is on the first floor (ground) of a 3 story building. His ceilings are concrete, except in the kitchen, baths, and closets. There is about 18" of space between his ceiling and his upstairs neighbors floor, to accommodate plumbing and electrical.

His dryer is located on the east wall of his unit (interior wall) vents upwards and then runs west about 40' (aluminum flexible) where then it is connected to about 10' of solid vent pipe before exiting outside.

At that connection, there is duct tape wrapped about 5 widths wide (don't know if there are any screws under that tape). This connection is directly above his closet ceiling and leaks. Somebody before has obviously noticed this, and patched in new drywall. He has been living there 1 year and the ceiling paint/patching compound has bubbled up. We cut that open, realized that it had been patched all ready and are now left surmising what the problem is.

That 'attic space' between his ceiling and his neighbors floor is cold (Chicago area). So assuming the warm, moist, dryer air is meeting the cold, dry, exterior air, it appears that condensation is occurring.

That seam where the solid duct meets the flexible duct appears to be where the leak is coming from (it may also be that somehow rainwater or melting snow is entering from the outside). Either way, that seam actually comes to a subtle 'V' shape (apparently, the weight of the solid vent is causing it to pitch inwards towards that seam). Whoever patched it before shimmed up that solid pipe with some scrap drywall (2 pieces, 1/2" each), there is room to lift that pipe about 6".

What steps should be taken to ensure that the leak stops? Lift that solid pipe up more (thereby really guaranteeing that if any moisture/condensation occurs, it will flow outwards)? And how to best address that seam? Is there a better product than duct tape? A more industrial tape? A paste to spread at that seam?

Are there any more concerns that need to be addressed while we are up in there?

If we lift that solid pipe up, that ensures that at least, the last 10' of that pipe will slope outwards, but what about the 40' of flexible? By lifting the solid, that means that somewhere back along the flexible, there will be a drastic 'V' shape. Or, does it not matter that far inwards, and should we just focus on the 10' of solid?

I hope that this is understandable, and apologize if too much of the wrong information is given.

  • question about 5-card draw?

example: 4 players, 5-card draw, no high-school variants. i.e. 4 with an ace, wild cards... Everybody gets their first 5 cards, then everybody checks the opening bet. 1 person at this game gives all of his cards to the dealer for a new deal, everybody else is confused. The claim was that if everybody checks the opening bet, that current hand is dead and it is a re-deal with a re-ante. Big argument ensues. His point was that since nobody opened the betting, the cards were dead. He says that the ante gets you your first 5 cards, but if nobody bets before the draw, that hand is over. His argument was that that is why there is a small and big blind in texas hold-em: forced betting which allows the hand to proceed to prevent a re-deal from everybody checking.

Has anybody else ever heard of this or played this way?

This was a guy in his late 30's and he said that that was how his grandfather, father, and uncles played, and his friends' parents when he was in high-school. Maybe it is a generational thing?

  • simple question about HDTV?

If I purchase a new TV that says it has a "built-in HDTV tuner" do I still need to add anything extra to receive a television signal.

This is for a room that does not have a cable jack in it.

I am just wondering if I still need to add any other components, like rabbit ears (HDTV) or if I can just plug the TV in and receive over the air broadcasts.

    Thank You.

  • green dot problems?

Just a few comments in regards to the amount of insulting answers about the green dot.

Just because it has been going on all season, doesn't mean that people have always noticed it.

Some people don't watch football every weekend and may have just watched their first game in Nov.

If it is a new rule as of 2007, of course people are going to be asking about it.

After reading through many answers, I've noticed that nobody has yet to give a thorough explanation of the rule.

Here are some examples of the answers given:

"It is to identify the player with the radio"

"It is so the QB can hear the plays being called by the coach"

"Only one person is allowed to have it"

"It is to help prevent trick plays"...

The problem is, nobody is answering correctly. Because it is a new rule. Unless you are an NFL Official, or have access to the Official Rule Book (and are able to cite your source or provide a link), then stop speculating or repeating the dumbed down media answer.

  • What do I need to do to make this happen...?

I have an idea for a t-shirt design. What do I need in regards to copyright or trademark protection? How do I get started to protect my idea? Does it make a difference if it is just words (slogans/sayings) or if it is just a picture, or a combination? Thank you.

  • how much money do you spend on the lottery?

I'll admit, when the jackpots get up there in the hundreds of millions, I'll buy some tickets (not like, say, when it is only 3 or 42 million, because that wouldn't improve my life).

So, how much do you spend weekly, monthly, or yearly on various State-sponsored lotteries?

How much would you say is too much?
