Is "Under God" taking the Lord's name in vain ?
The court has ruled that the phrase "Under God" is not really religious, it is ceremonial and patriotic. Isn't that just a fancy way of saying that it doesn't really mean anything ? And how meaningful can it be when school children are pressured to say those words in unision on a daily basis ?
Isn't this really just taking the Lord's name in vain ?

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs There Free Will in Heaven?
It has been said that the problem of evil in this world can be attributed to free will. That the only way God could have created this world and kept it perfect would be to deprive of free will. If this is true, then is there free will in heaven ? If there is free will in heaven, then eventually, won't someone choose to do evil in heaven ? If free will and perfection can exist in heaven, then why not on earth ?

2 AnswersGoogle1 decade agoWhy do agents charge a percentage on jobs that the actor booked themselves ?
Hi, I have an agent, and around here, agents not only charge you 20% on jobs that they book for you, but if you book jobs on your own, the actor is supposed to give them 20% of that also. It is standard practice around here. What is the 20% for ? They didn't get you the job, so why does the actor have to pay them a fee ?
2 AnswersTheater & Acting1 decade agoWhy can't I pull up Yahoo Answers in my google search engine?
Up until today, I have had NO problem pulling up the Yahoo Answers website using my google search engine. Today, every Yahoo Answers site that appeared under google search contained the warning "This site my harm your computer", and there was NO WAY to bypass the warning and get through to the site. I was completely blocked. So I switched to the Yahoo search engine and got hear no problem. Up until yesterday I had NO PROBLEM getting through to YAHOO with a GOOGLE search engine.
What's the deal ?
Thanks in advance

If so, did you e-mail everyone and tell them it was a hoax, or did you do nothing ? If you did nothing was it because you were ashamed to admit you passed on a falsehood, or was it because the falsehood was one you didn't mind passing on anyway, because it was a lie about someone or something you disliked ?
Also, have you ever forwarded one of those e-mails on KNOWING it was a blatant lie to begin with ?

6 AnswersComedy1 decade agoShould students be able to wear political messages at school ?
Do students have free speech rights in school, or do they disappear when they walk through the school room doors ? The supreme court has already ruled that a students free speech rights don't end when they pass through the doors at school, but apparently schools haven't gotten the message. A public school student was recently suspended over a political t-shirt he wore. It disparaged one of the current political candidates. Was the school right or wrong ?

I have always heard that blue is the best color for any audition, the blue dress I usually wear is slightly turquoisy. It is also rather thin fabric, and even with a slip undereath, it is slightly translucent. Will it disappear against the green screen ?

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan you answer this question about hell?
What happens to people who die without ever having heard about Jesus ? Don't tell me that there is no such thing. Do you think the Native Americans heard about Jesus, before the white man came over and "discovered" this nation, and converted them ? Also, I know many of you believe that Jesus won't come until the gospel has preached everywhere, but what about the people who lived and died in a time and place where they NEVER heard about Jesus. Are they going to be punished for all eternity for NOT believing in something they were never told about ? What about the people who lived BEFORE Jesus was even born ?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians -- Do you think you are morally superior to non-Christians?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Apaq....
I was inspired by the above question, from a Christian about why atheists think they are smarter than believers.
My pet peeves are:
Atheists who think Christians are stupid
Christians who think atheists have no morals
Atheists & Christians (& others) who think agnostics are wishy-washy
So tell me, do you think you have better morals than those who don't believe in God ?
The only reason I ask, is I see many questions and answers that accuse athiests of having NO morals, or falsely claiming that atheist choose to not believe in God so they can "sin".
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoFor you "Christmas warriors" what do you want from non-Christians.?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20080626161...
I was inspired to ask this because someone is grousing in June about non believers celebrating Christmas.
Ever since Bill O'Reilly started claiming there is some sort of "war" on Christmas, I notice alot of people grousing about two things.
The phrase "Happy Holdiays" & non-Christians celebrating Christmas. These 2 complaints seem to be at odds with each other. On one hand, it seems the Christmas warriors want every single greeting in December to be "Merry Christmas" and no other. It's like this phrase MUST be uttered TO non believers and BY non believers. They just won't tolerate "Happy Holidays" between strangers who really have no idea what religion the person they are greeting or being greeted by is. & some even claim that the phrase "Happy Holidays" is a persecution of Christians.
So what do you want? Non-Christians MUST say Merry Christmas or non-Christians FORBIDDEN from anything to do w/Christmas ?
