  • Yahoo Name Server Emergency Contact?

Hi everyone, I do IT support for a company and their DNS records were recently switched over from another company to Yahoo's name servers by the company's website guy without my knowledge. Because of this the A records and the MX records for external access to internal resources and for routing email got deleted and he never recreated them. He is being woefully unhelpful saying that the name servers have nothing to do with our internal servers, that customer facing website is up and running so no changes need to be made, bla bla bla, in other words he pretty much doesn't understand the way DNS or email works. Anyways I'm wondering if there is some kind of 24/7 emergency contact info for Yahoo's nameservers. They've been down for 2.5 days now because of this and because the website guy is being woefully unhelpful I am having to look to other routes to find a solution. Because today is technically part of the July4th weekend Yahoo's public facing numbers on their web hosting website are all closed. Being that they tout this as a service for "small businesses" I would think there has to be some kind of emergency 24 hour support phone number for people to call in situations like this.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • If I have atrocious credit will it hurt the cosigner's credit as long as I pay the loan on time?

I am in a serious situation with the state I currently live in and need money very quickly. However my credit is TERRIBLE, below 400. I make enough money to make loan payments each month but not to pay off the large lump sum I owe the state. I am wondering if my bad credit being on a loan with my girlfriend's grandparent's as the cosigners will hurt their credit even if I pay the loan each month.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I plan on pouring my heart out to them later on today and really hope that them helping me out won't affect them. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Stop Chat Notifications In Yahoo Email?

I'm hoping this will be a simple one, a few months back I noticed Yahoo decided to put this stupid little window in the corner every time you log in which tells that you supposedly have chat messages from your friends. This little thing is annoying and slows down the computer because its a flash app. If anyone knows how to turn this off I would greatly appreciate it if you would share the knowledge with me. I actually considering switching email sites if I can't figure it out.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • How to extend volume control on car amplifier?

Basically I have a small Dual 150 watt (RMS) amplifier. My radio is a bit older and has no low level RCA outputs or subwoofer volume control and I'm to cheap to upgrade it, I'm also to cheap to buy a newer amp. Basically my question is: is it possible to fabricate something to extend the volume control from the trunk to the front of the car. Could I just buy a potentiometer and some wire and do some soldering, or is there more to it than that.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Creating water in a level with Unreal Ed?

I'm currently creating a large castle DM level for Unreal Tournament 2004, (yes I know its old but I'm to lazy to do stuff for 3, besides I think 2004 is better anyways), I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for adding some water, just the start up steps or perhaps a tutorial online. Just FYI I'm using version 3.0 of unreal ed

Don't worry I'm some lazy n0ob who wants someone to explain everything to me, and I have dug around myself but I couldn't find anything. I already have a good grasp of the terrain creation, invisible things, static meshes, how the bsp brushes work, the actors, and I've already created almost all the custom textures I'll need. So yeah, just a bit of help on the water, thanks.

Oh and its for a moat that will circle the castle, there's gonna be a fountain in the town square but I figure i can use a particle emitter for that, just don't know how to put the water in the base pool (or the moat outside obviously).

Thanks in advance for any help

  • Microsoft .NET f***ing framework?!?!?

Can someone please tell me what damn version of .net framework to download (I'm pretty sure it's 3.5) to run paint.net. If it is 3.5 (not the compact as I've already tried that) then can someone give me a link to the full download of the full 3.5 version. It can't be a downloader that gets it from microsoft either, thanks to my college's worthless wireless internet and the f*cking proxy they have in place I can't download anything using microsoft's downloader (otherwise I would be up and running). So can someone please provide a link to this before I just go and f*cking murder the incompetent IT staff here.

  • Voltage drop of LED's in a series setup in a flashlight?

Ok, I'm making an LED flashlight and I don't really want to mess with charge pumps, I'm thinking about using 4 or 5 10mm white ones from radio shack. I'll wire the LED's in series along with two 9 volts to power them. My main question is how would I calculate the resistance of the LED's to calculate the voltage drop that would occur or if there is another way to calculate it. The FW voltage requirement on these one's is 3.5V and the amperage draw is 20mA or .020 amps. I would just look up the resistance for it but radio shack's friggin site doesn't list any specs except for the two i just listed. If its just a 3.5v voltage drop for each one then 5 should do, which would pull around 17.5v from the batteries, leaving an extra .5v which shouldn't hurt anything. If the way I figured it out is incorrect then someone please tell me.

I'm pretty sure that amperage shouldn't be an issue since all of them together (I think) would only pull .1 amps

    One last thing:

This is the link for the LED's i'm considering getting:

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Removing the lower control arm on a 1988 Chevrolet 1500?

OK heres the story, I was pulling into my driveway the other day and BAM, the lower control arm pops off the ball joint. Obviously I need to remove the ball joint and replace it, to do that I have remove the coil spring and the lower control arm. My question is what is the best way to do this. I had originally wanted to just use GM's tool specifically for this purpose (j-23028 I believe) but I can't find it anywhere. So I was planning on renting a spring compressor, and then compressing it until theres enough clearance, then unbolt the control arm and take it to a machine shop and get the new ball joint pressed in. Then to put it back on, reattach the lower control arm, attach the ball joint, then compress the spring enough to fit back into the spring pockets. My main concern is if the spring will compress enough to make it back into the narrower space once the control arm is reattached along with the ball joint. Any suggestions or better methods, or locations where I can find the aforementioned special tool are greatly appreciated, thanks

  • Computer won't boot, black screen, no POST beep?

OK, I'm stuck pretty good on this one, heres the situation. I'm working on a computer right now that just recently stopped turning on. After it turned itself off the first time, it would turn on a couple more times, but after that nothing, no POST beep or anything. I've gone through whole process of unplugging peripheals and things like that. It has a brand new mother board in it also. I'm pretty sure its not the motherboard because if I leave the CPU off when I turn it on I get the usual beep complaints from the bios, but if its installed then nothing, same if i don't plug in the cpu fan it gives off a long beep sequence, but if everything is plugged in then there is nothing, no beep, and no boot. I know its not the video card because I tried it another PC and it worked. The PSU is fine because I tested that as well in another PC, not sure about the ram but i took it out to see if it would give me any beeps and nothing, although I haven't tried it with the CPU and the RAM out. I'm at a loss here, I'm wondering if anyone knows anything else that could be wrong with it before I order a new CPU. One last thing I'm a bit confused about is that this motherboard has a two digit digital display in the bottom corner displaying C5 when I turn it on, I didn't see what it said with out the processor in. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

  • Push lawn mower won't keep running?

I've been working on a lawn mower now for the past two days. At first the fuel outlet on the tank was plugged and I unplugged that and it still wouldn't run. After this I checked the spark plug and made sure it was working and it was. So I took the carb off (which was extremely dirty) and soaked it in cleaner and blasted out all of the holes. After cleaning it, I needed a new bowl and a new needle so I replaced both of these and then made sure there was no play in the governor and tried to start it but still no go. I sprayed some starter fluid into the intake and when I do that it will start and the governor will start to throttle it up but then it dies like its not getting any fuel (nor sure if its running only off he starter fluid or if there's gas there to). My question is if anyone knows anything that I am missing or anything else I could do before I think about getting a new carb. If I can give any more detail please let me know.

Also as a side note I thought it was kind of odd that the governor closes the throttle all the way instead of opening when the engine is off, but maybe that's the way this one works.

  • Door latch for 1988 chevrolet 1500?

Hi, my truck's door latch has recently quit working, I've replaced everything having to do with the door and its operation all thats left is the latch. However, I didn't know that latches for my truck were extremely hard to come by, I've checked all the junk yards in my area and no joy. The dealer can order it but they want $300 for it and I simply don't have that kind of money. I looked on ebay and did some googling and still nothing. If any body has any info or suggestions as to where I could find a latch for this, or even if you have one you wanna sell then it would be greatly appreciated. I am in desperate need of this part as I use my truck for every thing I do and without it I can't get to work, go to college, or anything. At this point I'm even willing to southern engineer something to fit. Anyways, as I said, any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • A/C causing low idle on my 1988 chevy 1500?

Hello everyone, I just recently fixed my A/C over the weekend. I put on a new compressor, accumulator, and orifice tube. The vacuum is excellent, it blows cold air, and starts blowing cold air in only a few seconds. The only thing I'm a bit confused about, is that when its idling the engine sounds almost like its lugging. In drive it sits around 500 rpm and in park it sits around 700 to 800 (i think) also when i'm accelerating and it kicks theres somewhat of a roar and it loses a bit of power, same thing when i'm going down the highway, that could be normal though since when it kicks it puts a heavier load on the engine, it never stops cooling though, on the highway or at stop lights and stuff when the idle drops. I know this may sound like a weird question considering i did all the work myself, but i've never actually had a car or truck with a working a/c before, i just know how work on them, go figure lol. Anyways any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.
