  • Windows 7 won't detect USB devices?

    Hi

I'm running 64 bit Windows Home Premium on an Acer Aspire 5532. I took it on a flight with me, and it hasn't been the same since. The next day, when I booted up my computer, I noticed that half the time, it would have problems recognizing my mouse. Couple weeks later, it won't even detect anything plugged into the USB. All other jacks work fine. I've tried the Microsoft Fix It, and it did detect the problem. "Windows cannot detect devices on this computer", but offered no fix. I've formatted the computer. Nothing. Help please! This touch pad is starting to hurt my finger... -.-"

  • My cat is acting very sick?

My cat is usually very active, not talkative, and loves to play and sleep with people. Lately, as in starting 2 days ago, she started meowing as if in pain when pet any farther down than half past the back, or the head. I managed to figure out, she has a small bump behind directly behind her tail. Touch it, or try to pet there, and she gets extremely agitated. She hasn't been very active at all, and doesn't eat much anymore, and drinks all of her water before getting even half-way through her food. Which is odd, because she usually eats like a beast. She still likes to cuddle with people, but much much more. She's very needy. She doesn't want to go outside anymore, just lay down to the nearest person. Which is odd, because she doesn't like being pet anymore! So the symptoms are: Sluggish, not hungry but thirsty all the time, seems to be in some sort of pain when pet anywhere but head, strange bump before the tail starts, and neediness. Help!?

  • Windows 7 Red Screen After Login?

    Hi!

I'm using an Aspire 5532 Acer Laptop running 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. The other day I ran my monthly Full Computer virus scan, and found 4 trojan viruses, and removed them promptly. Afterwords, I shut down my computer and went to bed. The next day, when I booted it up, it was all running fine, until I logged in with my username and password. I got the welcome screen, and it was up a bit longer than normal, then I get a red screen with a small text box in the upper left corner that says "Personalizing System: C:/Users/Sage/local/temp/win87 <Sage is my username> Reset"

So I see that and decide to reset. I get the red screen again. So I log into Safe Mode, and track down the file. I scan it for viruses, and its all clear, and I thought of deleting it then decided not to thinking it's probably a vital windows process. Which I find odd because those files are usually within the registry or windows file on your HDD. Even then, it couldn't be deleted because "The application is in use in another process." I open up my registry cleaner and scan for registry errors. A full scan. After about 2 and a half hours, I come up with... wait for it this may completely blow your mind... Two-Thousand One Hundred and Thirty Four errors! I was amazed! So I used the program to fix them, then rebooted one more time. I still get the red screen. Help!?

  • Constantly Thirst, Never really hungry?

Hello! I have a problem that I believe is minor, but it may turn out not to be. That depends on the answer. Lately, as in around the start of the 2011 year, I have found myself very thirsty. No dry mouth or anything of that sort just a craving for water. I do drink water more than any other drink, but I do still drink Milk, and Orange Juice for my D and C Vitamins and all that good stuff. Everyone else on there 1st or 2nd glass, I would be on my 5th. I get up in the middle of the night thirsty. A good quarter of my thoughts during the day are, " I wonder how cold the water is today." The other thing is that I am never particularly hungry except for once or twice a day, and even then something as little as a Cheese Stick or Apple would fill me up. I am not particularly full, just a neutral point of hunger. Also, I don't work out or really exercise as much as I could since I don't get the opportunity to leave the house that often. But still, I have lost about 10 pounds in the last 6 months or so. But I think that may be the Teenage metabolism I have. Before you even suggest it, I don't have diabetes. I know that for a fact, through research and medical history checks. So, I wonder, Why am I so thirsty all the time and never very hungry? At this moment all I want is a tall bottle of water... :P

  • Help, Mid sized dark red lump on right thigh?

Hello! Today while using the restroom, i saw, on my right thigh, a medium sized zit (at least i think it is) on my skin. It was a real dark red with a light red outer rim. I could actually see a small bit of white in the dark red (and by dark red i mean dark cherry red) bubble on top. So, i squeezed it, and a bit of puss came out as well as a bit of blood. It didn't hurt very bad. I squeezed one more time to make sure then a bit more blood came out. So, what i did, was i lathered the area with cold water, then applied some sea breeze (a type of zit treatment that my mother bought) that i had coated on a wet rag onto the zit and then came here! Some other things you might want to know are that i have about 2 or 3 more zits on 1 of them on my left thigh the other 1 or 2 on my right, but they are very small, and can be dealt with easily. I have no acne history, and a pretty clear face. (I got one small one on my bottom left cheek. That's about all.) And actually, right now as i type, i feel a very faint tingle were the dark red one was. So, my question is, is it a zit in the first place? And if so or if not how to deal with it? I appreciate it. Thanks!

  • Got Qwest internet, now internet goes extremely slow?

We have recently obtained Qwest internet. The service that can, or so they say. It should truly be the service that can't. They have provided us with an Actiontec router. Internet speeds are extremely slow. A minute and a half ranging to timed out connection just to load google. Downloads at 9kb/s. Reseting the router helps not at all. It's claimed high speed. 30 min. wait to load 2 minutes of a youtube video. It's probably not the computer because it is virus free, with a clean registry and fairly decent specs. How can I speed up this connection? We can't switch providers due to price reasons because this is a fairly high priced area we live in. This supposed high speed internet connection is terrible. Sometimes it wont respond, and windows can't pinpoint an error. Is it a problem with the router? How can I make it faster?

  • Computer makes an annoying Guitar strum instead of Windows' sound?

A while ago, my computer started making a Guitar Strum instead of Windows 7's default beep. Whenever a window comes up, or the computer finishes booting up, I hear a "Bruuum" like a guitar strum instead "beep" like windows 7.... It's getting really annoying! Any Fixes?

  • Infected toe, do I have Gout?

I have recently moved to Colorado (if it makes a difference) and for about a month, 2 months, My right big toe has been red, swollen, it leaks puss (which hardens on my toenail), and slightly warm. I have been digging around under the swollen tissue, and all I find is very small pockets of puss. There's no hang nail, or cut skin. It's just swollen and painful. A friend said I might have gout, but I doubt it, because I feel no ache in my joints, and my toe is the only infected part. My toe gets like this often, and will swell for a couple months, calm down for a week, and swell again. Its been like that for a couple years and it has never shown any signs of what is infecting it and causing it to swell.... Do I have Gout!?!?

  • Should this laptop run Fallout 3?

When I ask will it run it, I'm not asking for anything perfect. I'm a patient guy and can deal with lag. Not to much, but 50 frames a second I'll go with. Maybe 45... but anyway!

    1.6GHz Processor

2.75 GB of usable Ram (Total of 3.00)

    OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Realtek Speakers

And don't be a troll and tell me my computer sucks. This, I'm aware of. I need to update, but don't have THAT much cash.

  • Is this computer considered "Good"?

Its an Acer Aspire 5532 running 64 bit Windows 7. It has an AMD Athlon processor of 1.6GHz. It has 3072mb of Ram (only 2812mb worth available, if it makes a difference). It has an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics Graphic card, with an ATI display adapter. For sound, it has Realtek High Definition Audio Speakers, made by Realtek of course. It has a 160G hard drive. Do you think this laptop is considered "good". Rank however you feel, just give me some feedback.

  • My answer got reported, but the question violates term of service as well... what to do?

This guy asked how to get an ISO to work because his game broke, and his ISO download was split into parts. Well, I told him to get the ISO in whole, Utorrent, and to PM me so I could tell him how to get it to work. The reason I told him to PM me was because I didn't feel like watching over the page for a reply. I wasn't supporting this action or saying it's right, but I like to help people! So I looked it up and wanted to tell him how. Then my answer got reported. At that same time I realized that wouldnt the question also be violating the "no breaking or talking about breaking the law" rule? What should I do?

  • I feel chest pain when I finish exercising?

I'm a 14 year old male, and I have been exercising vigorously lately to lose some weight. I'm not dreadfully overweight, and have never had any health problems relating to it. I have asked and my doctor said that alot of my weight was muscle, even though I do fat covering over it. I just started doing these exercises yesterday. They go: 50 knee ups, 55 reverse crunches, 50 crunches, 60 side crunches, 50 pedal kicks, 60 leg raises (I lay on the ground, raise my legs up into the air straight, lower them without letting them touch the floor, then raise, Etc.). And I have been eating less. When I finished my exercises today, I felt a med. pain in my upper right ribs portion of my chest, and a bit to the right of my heart. What's wrong!? I seriously doubt it would be artery clogs or something, because of how young I still am, and the fact that I have always had a healthy blood pressure. Is it because I'm pushing to hard to fast? I need answers, because I wish to resume my exercise soon.
