  • Luis Suarez did what any other player in the world would have done?

Any player who wouldn't take one for the team like he did, obviously doesn't love his country enough to be playing in the world cup. That was the last minute of extra time, and he's just expected to let a shot sail over his head without stopping it? He denied the goal scoring opportunity instinctively, he got his red card. His foul was no better or worse than Khune's red card against Uruguay for South Africa.

Not to mention the fact that the free kick which led to the goalmouth scramble was caused by a clear and blatent dive by a Ghanian midfielder. So why don't you Ghanian nuthuggers think about that before you tell me "football should be played honestly".

A cheat is someone who breaks the rules, gets away with it and doesn't admit it. Suarez broke the rules instinctively, and served his punishment. Ghana had the opportunity to finish that match there and then, and they failed.

I was supporting Ghana today, and I was disappointed like the rest of you. But the kind of crap I'm seeing about Luis Suarez and Uruguay in general really opens your eyes to how biased and ignorant the Yahoo Answers community can be sometimes.

  • Why is it that people on here are going beserk about Suarez, when Khune did the same thing for South Africa?

People on Yahoo went beserk when Khune got sent off for South Africa against Uruguay after he fouled Luis Suarez when he was through on goal. Saying that it was harsh and that a yellow card would have been fine.

Yet, now everyone is going crazy and saying that Suarez deserves a HARSHER punishment for his hand ball, even though both of these incidents are essentially the same thing.

The Fifa rule book states that if a player obstructs a clear goal scoring opportunity with a conscious foul, then it's a red card offence. Khune committed a conscious foul in bringing Suarez down. Suarez committed a conscious foul in blocking the shot with his hands. Both instances received red cards for the exact same reason, so why are people saying that Suarez needs to receive an additional ban, while the same people were crying about Khune getting sent off?

  • Good job to the USA and its fans in this world cup?

I know that there's been a lot of trash talking from both sides between the USA and the English. As a Brit, I'm not gonna stand here and make fun of America like so many other people are choosing to, instead I'm just expressing my hope that now we can put this stupid rivalry behind us. Regardless of whether or not we progress tomorrow afternoon, I hope the fans can stop hating each other and go back to the reasonably relaxed relationship that we had before this tournament came along.

Team USA played well in this tournament, and for a country which was seemingly unaware of football's existence just a few years ago, the team has come a long way, and in a few decades time, I'm sure the USA can be serious contenders for the world cup in a decade or two.

I've seen Americans talk **** about the England team, and I've talked my fair share of **** about the USA team, but as a Brit, I'm extending an olive branch to all the USA fans who showed great heart and belief during this tournament. I'm sure you'll be more than happy to rip on us when we lose to Germany/Argentina, but after some of the threads I've seen this evening regarding the USA team from English fans, I'll take it with a smile.

So to summarise. To all the USA fans, we've had some great banter over the last few weeks and I'll look forward to seeing you in 4 years time. Your country needs you if it wants to develop its football credentials to the point where you all want it to be, and best of luck to you all.

    Peace!

  • Does this mean that Switzerland are a better team than Spain?

It must do. I remember the USA beating Spain a year ago and their fans declaring that that meant that they were a far superior team in terms of quality. And since when were American fans ever wrong?

Unlucky Spain. I think you just have to move over and accept that this year is the year that Switzerland will finally win that World Cup that they've worked so hard for.

  • How long will it be before Scottish football sinks to the levels of Welsh and Irish domestic football?

There's no denying that Scottish football has undergone a rapid decline over the last few years. And now with the Scottish League dropping below the Belgian League, Rangers and Celtic are now facing the fact that in reality, Scottish football probably won't have a Champions League representative from 2011 onwards.

Can Scottish football recover from this? Or is it just a matter of time now before lack of finances and skill takes its toll and the level of football drops down to the level of the Welsh and Irish leagues?

    The question is:

    Given that AD=AB=BC=CA=CE

Find the ratio of the two shaded areas ADEC and ABC

Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thank you for your time.

  • Should Rooney receive a 2 game ban?

For clear simulation and therefore deceiving the referee. Cost Arsenal the match. All logic now says that Rooney should be handed a 2 game ban, and why shouldn't he?

  • What are your thoughts on Dale Neumann?

This is one of the news stories in the spotlight at the moment. A man and his wife each face 25 years in prison for killing their 11 year old daughter by praying to God for her to be healed, as opposed to taking her to a hospital.

She died of diabetes, which is easily treatable, even in the late stages of its development. However, the couple did not call an ambulance until their daughter had already stopped breathing.

Neumann, who once studied to be a minister, is quoted as saying in court, "If I go to the doctor, I am putting the doctor before God. I am not believing what he said he would do."

What are your thoughts on this? Is 25 years a suitable punishment, or are the couple in need of some kind of rehabilitation. Please understand that me asking this question is not an attack on Christianity, but I am curious to know other peoples opinions.

  • My Xbox 360 just got the 3 red rings. I submitted a repair request, but haven't received the email yet?

After submitting the request, I was informed that I would receive an email shortly, which would include the label which I should put on my box and send to Microsoft. However it's been a few minutes and I haven't received the email.

Is this because my order has to be processed before they will send me the email, or do I have a problem with my inbox?

  • How does WWF animal adoption work (UK)?

    Hey there.

I recently saw one of the adopt a tiger adverts on TV in assosciation with the WWF and I decided to adopt one for my girlfriend as a birthday present. I went on the website and filled out the details, I said that I was buying it as a gift, etc.

It asked me for an address to send the pack to. But when it came to the payment, all it asked for was my name, account number and sort code. I filled these out and clicked submit. All it did was say "thank you for donating £3 a month, please allow up to 10 days for delivery of your pack".

I'm a little worried about the lack of information I've been given. Surely they can't take £3 out of my account each month with just the information they've been given. And also, if it did start taking £3 out of my account each month, how would I be able to stop it? Obviously it's not a huge amount of money but I'm a little worried about the lack of control I appear to have.

Will payments start being taken out of my account immediately? Or will I have to activate something from the pack first? And how can I stop payments being withdrawn if needs be?

A little worried here. All help would be very much appreciated.

  • Right then! 09/10 Predictions?

We very nearly have the names of all 20 teams to take part in the premiership next season. The final team will be revealed tomorrow when Sheffield Utd and Burnley play.

I know its early days, and we don't know which players are going where yet.

But as for next season. Who are you tipping for the league? Will the stranglehold of the Big 4 be broken? Who's going down? If you're feeling confident then who do you reckon will be coming up?

  • Scientists Unveil Missing Link In Evolution. What does this do for the theory of evolution?

Just saw this on Yahoo news.

    http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20090519/twl-scientists...

Now before I have insults hurled at me from Creationists, I want to state that I'M NOT TRYING TO SAY THIS IS SOLID EVIDENCE. I know that this fossil has not yet been fully analysed, and therefore it cannot be counted yet as 'evidence for evolution'.

But if this fossil does genuinely turn out to be the missing link in the theory of evolution, then what does this do for atheism in general? And will this affect Christian attitudes towards the theory in any way? (my guess is that it won't).

Please don't accuse me of being ignorant or stupid. I am asking a question that I genuinely want to see the response to. I'm not trying to provoke a response or offend either side of the evolutionary debate.

  • Stephen King - Misery. Is it worth a read?

    Hey there.

I'm usually a fan of reading, but I've been reading a few books lately, and most recently was The Shining. I thought it was a brilliant book and I've got a couple of friends who are really into Stephen King and they both suggested Misery. I've heard of it before and I know it's meant to be a pretty heavy book in terms of violence and insanity but i wondered if it was worth a read.

I was also wondering what other books you'd recommend. I've seen the film adaptions of stuff like The Mist, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile and they're all great books. But what are his most enjoyable books?

  • I do not believe in God. Does this mean I'd go to hell?

First off I'd just like to state that I'm not trying to start an argument here, I'm just trying to ask a question. I'd prefer it if no anti-christian or anti-athiest (or any religion for that matter) comments were made.

I grew up in a family where we weren't really christians. My mum told me about Jesus, his life and other well known stories from the Bible but we never went to church and it was never really something that I took to be fact.

When I went to school, we were taught about the Bible, but we were also taught about the scientific theory of creation and evolution. Evolution was presented to us as fact whereas the religious side was essentially taught to us like it was just superstition.

Now that I've grown up, I find that I do not believe in God, and this isn't really my fault. It's because of the way I've been raised and the way I've been taught. And because of this, I find that I'm unable to develop the faith to believe in the existence of God or a lot of the other Bible stories I was told when I was younger (I'm aware that not all of them were supposed to be taken literally anyway).

But after looking over this forum for a few weeks, I've seen people say that because I don't have faith, and because I don't believe in God, that I'll go to hell. And I find this hurtful. I don't feel like I deserve to be treated like some kind of heretic, just because of the way I've been brought up.

I don't understand why God would punish people for not believing in him. At the end of the day, the reason I don't have faith is because the people I trusted and learned from when I was younger always encouraged me to believe in science. Surely God would be able to understand that is was not my fault.

I don't understand why I would be treated this way.
